I have family buried there. I lived not too far from there in my early days. It's a beautiful old cemetery. 🕊️❤️🙏
    Thank you my friend 😊

The monster didn’t have a name. I think that’s what he was upset about. 😂

As I recall, Frankenstein was a fairly popular surname in German/Austria. Personally though, after Mary Shelley put pen to paper, I would have changed it, or at least modified it! I once went into a cemetery in Ontario and found 3 interesting graves. One was a Titanic survivor (she was two when the ship went down, 88 when she died). Another was one of the infamous Donnelly Family (serious troublemakers, depending on who you talked to, who ended up having their house burned down around them). Third stated, I kid you not, name, dates and 'I Told You I Was Sick'.

Frankenstein roughly translates as "Stone of the Franks" and there's a legend that the adopted son of one of the Frankenstein barons was an alchemist who they claimed created a monster in the cellars of Castle Frankenstein. I'm sure Mary Shelley heard about that...

That is so Cool !! I have always been so Intrigued by the stories of the Mothman . After dad retired from the service we moved to virginia to his home place.. Whenever we would go To ohio as soon as we got across the the west virginia line Mom would say you all keep look out for the Mothman. She told Dad once we need to go to the Mothman Festival. . He gave her " that Look" lol
Thank you so much for taking Us along to see this interesting tombstone.. I honestly did not know there was any frankenstein's In that area !! ✌️🙏🌹

We have a rural cemetery rather small that has a blue light that is lit....and sometimes not. It's been said that when the light is not lit, the ghosts are gathering there. People from many rural towns come out to see our towns rural cemetery. The name of cemetery isn't even shown on anything so it's always been "the Blue Light" cemetery. As a teenager we'd drive out there at night and day too and stop out of curiosity.

Just down the Knoll a bit from the Frankenstein grave are the graves of Rollin and Anna Hudson, two Ohio natives who were brutally murdered with an axe by an unknown assailant in Paola, Kansas, on June 5, 1912. The Hudsons had just moved to Kansas from Ohio only a few months before their brutal, and still unsolved murder.

I once read that two of Vlad Dracula's sons are interred in the crypts of an old Eastern European church within feet of the sons of Baron Frankenstein. Dunno if it's true (the book I read it in "In Search of Frankenstein" wasn't the most factual book I ever read) but it's an awesome idea anyway.
