    On amazon breakdown.. I have to say I personally never go to categories/departments for my quickest way to find what i’m looking for.. I always go to search.. and if plain search doesn’t help I do more refined searches (e.g. by department etc).

    Can you show examples not related with e-commerce? How can I see all those elements you showed here using other kind of applications? e.g. comunicación like whatsapp or telegram, music like deezer or RUclips, navigation like maps, translator like duolingo, IDE s like Matlab or visual studio.

    Are you serious? I never buy something from Amazon using the site navigation. What I do? Right, a search bar is what I need for Amazon. Costco? Yes, perhaps because search isn't good.

    Amazon office chair is a bad example... I'd just search.

      I agree, looking for an office chair under the "Home" department doesn't sound right to me, it should be under an "Office" department.

    Don’t take this seriously! It’s just a pseudo presentation.. lacks credibility.

  • @siddharthasamuel7259

    Usually the logical mental model would be to directly type in the search bar with the keyword "armless office chair" 🥲

      @Axis-ud5xs Год назад +1

      I had the exact thought in mind. But I believe since the video is about IA, it all comes down to how the content on a website is organized or arranged and that can be made clear if the user takes some longer steps to find a product, like searching for it under categories under categories.
