Great review. The background music is kind of distracting. I like how you did the whole squat test too and full length views of the product. I am sure the women's line is similar in quality/design as the men's. Props. :)
No matter what jeans I buy the crotch is the first place to go. I think this is due to a lack of “thigh gap” so I would be surprised if this wasn’t the first issue you experienced with a lighter denim material. $150 a pair is steep imo and I’ve never heard of the other brand you’re referring to, so I will look into those first. Great review! 👍
Better off just buying some Levi’s 502s or 541s in stretch if you have huge quads, more affordable, and they actually come in your inseam already, with these you need to spend even more money because they’re automatically too long, and off to the tailor they go.
That is a fair point. I would say though that I have both of those versions of Levi's and neither of them are as comfortable as these. When I reach into my drawer, the Barbells will come out before the Levi's. Also, I would still have to have most Levi's tapered from the knee to get the fit that I like, which still adds additional cost, where as these would just need to be hemmed, which I can do myself.
Benjamin Mackenzie yeah man, Levi’s are so hit or miss now, I tried some lucky brand jeans the other day, and they fit way better! More $, but the fit is consistent, and much more comfortable, if on a budget, some náutica jeans aren’t bad at all, cheaper than Levi’s, but still look good, and fit great. Levi’s has gone downhill compared to back in the day.
What’s the leg opening for the skinny. If you got skinny ones. I like around 11 inches. Mott and Bow turned out to be shit. Slightly too big at the opening at 13 inch and not stretchy at all and the 35 waist fit like a 32. Shit company too. No free return label for Canada and a bullshit restocking fee. Great 👍🏼 job ensuring I never order again.
Those shorts do not look like they have much room in the crotch. I need that crotch room >:(, but I also wanna wear stretchy skinny jeans. Any suggestions with something that has a an extra inch or two down below for some freedom?
That’s unfortunate for sure. I didn’t have that issue. I also bought some from their original line so I’m not sure how much they’ve changed in the last few years.
Not necessarily. There are just better quality denims at the same or lower price points that will last longer. I’d rather spend that money on a quality pair of selvedge jeans instead.
@@Mr_Mackenzie Cool, I will check them out. BTW, seems many other competitors are coming out the similar stretch/comfortable denim. I recently ordered from theperfectjean.nyc/ and their jeans are half the price of Barbell and the pants are great!
I have a couple of pair of barbell jeans, and they ARE NOT worth $149. The are, basically, sweat pants, with a denim print. You'll fit right in with the other fat people at Wal-Mart, in their sweats.
This is all BS! Barbell apparel is a rip off! I just bought a pair of jeans on your recommendation and they are too big! I tried to return them and in very fine print it said “all sales are final!” But as I checked out it said “easy returns” which I have spent too much time and feeling rip off by a company that will not accept a return even for a size issue?! This is a company for anyone who’s see this that I would not do any kind of business with! Look I checked before I bought these POS if I could return them! It’s a bait and switch and if they won’t give returns especially online! what does that tell you about them! And, No one should trust you! This is not the end of this!
Let me get this straight… You’re upset with me, personally because: 1. You watched a video from 6+ years ago that recommended a product 2. You ordered that product and didn’t like it. 3. The company has a policy that I don’t agree with, but have no control over regarding returns and exchanges and somehow that’s my fault? 4. You felt the need to come and air your grievances with said company here because it makes you feel better even though it accomplishes absolutely nothing. Did I miss anything?
@@Mr_Mackenzie hey brother I didn't mean to sound so negative. What I meant to say was; Your video is awesome and those backgrounds are super interesting to look at. I like the background music too. It is a great video with good info, the lighting is just a little dark. Thanks for the review, I am thinking about trying some of those pants and wanted to hear about them first. have a great day.
Bro. Exactly the review I was looking for but holy hell the quality of your video!?! 🤯 New subscriber!
Thank you!
My husband is trying a pair on now and he loves them

+Zixelation thank you! Glad you found it helpful!
Very useful to know that the chino pants are a lighter material than the chino shorts

Completely agree. Not the right materials at all. The belt loops aren’t even sewn to the seams like hilfigers or others. Ripped immediately
The denim still holding up well, man? Read some mixed reviews about them stretching out and not going back to form?
I haven’t had an issue with the ones I have. The chinos stretch out a lot faster than the denim IMO. A quick wash brings the denim back to shape.
Why did you edit out the one complaint?
Not sure what you mean?
@@Mr_Mackenzie @8:23 What was the complaint that you just flat out didn't say / cut out?
Kirby Dodd it was that the material starts to pill fairly quickly. It’s easy to take care of but annoying for pants that cost almost $150
Does the "you only need to wash jeans every few months" still apply or do you have to wash them often because of the spandex content?
I mean I never had an issue and just cared for them as I did my regular jeans. I didn’t notice much difference if any.
Those shorts do not look like they have much room in the crotch. I need that crotch room >:(, but I also wanna wear stretchy skinny jeans. Any suggestions with something that has a an extra inch or two down below for some freedom?
Is the waist true to size on the athletic fit or did you have to size up?
True to size in my experience. They’re constantly changing stuff up though
What's your hip measurement?
My pants typically sit at or near my hips instead of my true waist and I wear a 36 mostly.
I had two pair of barbell apparel jeans and the crotch wore a hole within 3 months
That’s unfortunate for sure. I didn’t have that issue. I also bought some from their original line so I’m not sure how much they’ve changed in the last few years.
Have you bought any of the Barbell shirts/tops?
No. Honestly I don’t buy any of their stuff anymore and have gotten rid of most of it from my wardrobe.
@@Mr_Mackenzie Oh wow! I did not know that! Did you have a bad experience?
Not necessarily. There are just better quality denims at the same or lower price points that will last longer. I’d rather spend that money on a quality pair of selvedge jeans instead.
