The safety record in British mines has continued to improve exponentially over the years. It's now 100%, no one has been killed or hurt in a mine in the UK for many years. Granted they achieved this by closing all the mines, but let's not get bogged down in detail.

pretty good reenactments ......dangeous place to work, but many above ground places are too, when rules are not followed and careless workers abound...

Never seen this film while i was training in late 80's seen similar.Had an instructor at kemball in 87 if he saw you with both feet between the rail he hit you with a 6 foot wooden dowel ,never did both feet between the rails a lot less painful than being hit by a tub .the idea was that you might get thrown to oneside and not run over.lost a friend from a flatdan with an overhang while coupling ,loco driver never drove again not his fault just wouldn't get back in the cab.

I’m from the Scottish highlands and still have nightmares about being slapped with a sword on the back of my legs when I was learning highland dancing at the age of 4! Brutal old hag that taught us would’ve made a fabulous prostitute for Tory politicians - beating little girls and screeching like a bull with it’s bollocks trapped in a gate made her perfect for those upper class perverts who enjoyed being flogged!

Don't worry; in about 15-20 years the safety record's going to be 100% forever...

ughhhhh wouldn't like.....clearing all that spare wire and lumber be a good idea for safety as it would mean less obstuctions and less temptation to improvise with it?
