Thank you so much for posting the comments and watching the Shetland videos. I am so glad are enjoying them. Those honesty boxes are a wonderful feature of Shetland. I wonder if other isles have them but I would think so. I was so pleased to have come across one and cakes were so delicious.

Honesty boxes are everywhere in Shetland, sometimes its eggs, vegetables or probably the most popular are the cake fridges.

I had heard about the honesty boxes on Shetland but unfortunately that was the only one I came across. What a great idea they are and those cakes, so chunky and tasty and such a good selection too.

Another interesting video Dodger, liked seeing the long house & the long ship. I found you because I like to watch videos of Scotland, so you might only see me comment on those though I like other UK trips too. I'm looking forward to doing my own raids on those honesty boxes, I think a lot of the Scottish isles have them, it's wonderful that people are so honest there, I think island life would suit me but all too far away :( Very little crime on Shetland, only in the TV series!!

I really enjoyed that walk back from Hermaness. I was offered lifts but declined becasue I wanted to do the walk. Every car driver that passed me would wave which was so nice. The honesty boxes are such a great idea and the cakes were really delicious. You can't beat home baking!

Hi there I plan on staying at the Baltasound hotel, how long would it take to walk to Hermaness and back again? Did you visit anything else in Unst like skaw beach and Saxa vord?

Hi Brandon thanks for getting in touch. For the walk, I would say allow 2 hrs each way fromn the hotel to the car park at Hermaness then maybe 3 hrs for the walk at Hermaness. Obviously the weather may play a part but I wasn't short of offers for a lift if I'd wanted one. The hotel also offered a taxi service to Hermaness but as I didn't use it I'm not sure how much they would charge. I did go to Haroldswick the next day. The hotel have print outs of walking trails in the rooms. Hope that helps you and I hope you get to Unst.
