Great video. I have exactly same problem in my 330CI / 2005. First, i thought i will buy new a pilar trims (150€/pair). After looking your video i will try this. ps. fabric spray adhesives which i know you need to spray that glue in both surfaces. Fabric and that pilar. Then you wait until it is sticky, then you work that fabric back in place. Maybe this was different type adhesive. Great video and tutorial definetly will try this before i buy new parts.
Do you guys know why this is peeling again and does not hold? Due to the wrong adhesion technique. The adhesive is sprayed on both surfaces, DRY it and then compressed together. So thats why this adhesive is also called a "contact" glue (neoprene glue)
The answer to your question is yes. At least on mine. It surely repaired it for a time, but now two years later it is loose again, granted not as bad as before. I dont recall which spray adhesive I used, but perhaps a stronger glue would have held up better. As an alternated, there are new a pillar covers on ebay for around $60. I have considered swapping them out as an option instead.
I used, LOCTITE Spray Adhesive. I used light duty 100, but if I was to do it again, I would use something with more grab, Perhaps their 200 version or 300.
i had the same problem with mine. best bet pull the pilars. strip the fabric. match a paint to the interior. spray with sandable primer, smooth and paint. the manufacturing method used is shit. they should have done these pilars with a plastic molding. once they start peeling you can retack it as much as you want it will peel again.
I used Loctite Spray Adhesive. It worked, but even stronger spray adhesives could be used as well. I used the lightweight bonding version just because I wanted a bit of forgiveness incase I screwed it up. Here is a link to the stuff I used in case you are interested. amzn.to/3Wk4KEr
EXCEPT YOU EDITED OUT THE MOST IMPORTANT PART!! You show in one part that you're tilting the top of the pillar up-and-down and then MAGIC its out??? Must have broken it. BTW everything else is a no brainer in the next section it's already out
Wow this is an easy fix. One of the simplest I've seen for a E46 issue. Thanks!
Ik this comment is from 4yrs ago but damn im with you. First fix I've seen for these nightmare cars that isn't overly convoluted.

Thanks for the tips!
Try the Weldwood high temp adhesive available at Home Depot. Used it on my e36 headliner replacement.

buy new pillars on ecs tuning.
Put the series in your title, this is not for a F30
GetoverYourself 330i ZHP was only available for the E46.
The ZHP package was only done in an e46 though so ZHP may aswell be the series
