To anyone wondering what that high pitch chirping sound is coming from... It is not the brakes. You can't tell from the angle but the driver has equipped an onboard easy bake oven on the passenger side. He is simultaneously baking muffins one at a time while driving the course. The chirp sound is an indicator when each muffin is done.
He cant hit his apex, he has no clue when his braking point is, I say his breaking point the car is absolutely fine with the late braking just he has no clue how to control it. He has the same problem motorsport has had since day dot. . . . Plenty of cash but zero skill 🤣
Shows how good the GTR is, even with a blind handicapped amputee muppet driving, it was still able to be saved from a fair few scary crash scenarios in only a few seconds. The guy shouldn't have been on the track, absolutely terrible driving and no car control or idea of where he was on the track, and he was deliberately blocking like he was Schumi in the last lap with Irvine behind him. Great move to pass him, and you could tell easily the cars ability outweighed his ability by a long way when he lost it trying to catch you. Great drive!

There is no better setup for the track except ultra costly carbon/carbon or carbon/ceramic brakes. It may be "a little bit noisy" but I don't care, I'm not here for cruising :-D Camera is a Garmin Virb Ultra 30. Gauges data comes from the cam sensors. Lap timing App on the iPhone is Harry's Laptimer + an external 10 Hz GPS (Dual XGPS160). @Andrew cianciotta Every serious track day car have modified brakes as standard road brakes are totally unsuited for this usage. Standard brakes are made to brake strong one time in case of emergency. Track day/race brakes are supposes to brake at the grip limit with high grip/semi slicks or slicks tires before every turn on the most demanding tracks at least for half an hour or more. Not all race brake setups make noise but noise is by far the least important parameter in building track day/race brakes. The setup I use is in the video description and it is quite extreme yet not too expensive : several thousands Euros but it's a lot less than carbon/ceramics or carbon where it is tens of thousands of Euros.
@Andrew cianciotta like Taurim said normal daily driver cars dont need to stop from 200 to 60 how many times that a track car does around a circuit. You stop every now and the and hardly stop very aggressively. If you had to do that with a normal car you will get brake fade. The disc and pad heats up and then you get brake fade. This is due to compounds used and heat build up in the disc and pad. As soon as you get brake fade you not braking optimal anymore and it's dangerous. The OP has a special brake system. Some are noisy when cold but as soon as they get some heat in them they reach optimal performance and the noise goes away. And some just keep squeeking all the way. The race compounds work the other way around the need heat to function optimally so you wont find them on normal cars. As normal cars under normal driving wont get enough heat into the system. OP you can correct me if I'm wro g as I'm no engineer just how I understand performance brakes.

Sounds like the brakes on my camaro. Brembo brakes on every corner and my cars 1LE (track package) gives it a different material (more aggressive) for the brake pads from factory. Every time i start driving the brakes "squeak" until they warm up. Most people tell me to change my brakes... they think its funny i can afford me car but cant change the brakes, but they actually just dont know anything about cars or brakes in general

Race breaks are design to break properly when on high speed and need to break strongly. When you start breaking by stock brakes from 200km, very intensive then high temp don't let you break. That's why they making notice... They, let's say cold...

That Nissan driver was shocking. His track position on nearly every corners entry and exit was all over the place. Obviously played for too much GT....piss poor and dangerous driving....your driving on the other hand was sublime....you seemed to be getting the maximum out of that little Lotus....I salute you sir !

It's not the most powerful car. Not even the most powerful Exige by far ! But it's an absolute joy to drive. In the past I changed my track toy every 4 years. But I love this one so much than I don't want to change anymore :-)
Watched the vid. First the brakes - who cares about squeaking, the important thing is they can stop the car. And that GT-R driver... Should be banned until he learns how to let faster people overtake him.

If you see the brake lights on and off like a light switch, you know the driver is unsure of his inputs. That gtr was dangerous. Should be in a lesser powered car to learn the course. Will hurt themselves or another person.

He should have driven on a completely different track and a completely different car. As far as I know the Nordschleife is not the easiest track to drive on. I mean there's nothing wrong with lack of skill and knowledge, but there are other tracks and locations which are better suited for beginners/drivers who are still learning.

It's not the most powerful car. Not even the most powerful Exige by far ! But it's an absolute joy to drive. In the past I changed my track toy every 4 years. But I love this one so much than I don't want to change anymore :-)

Watched the vid. First the brakes - who cares about squeaking, the important thing is they can stop the car. And that GT-R driver... Should be banned until he learns how to let faster people overtake him.

Nice driving. Brake sound didn't bother me much but obviously I wouldn't use those in a daily driver. I liked how I could learn your braking points by listening though.

You were checking your mirrors like you were being hunted for war crimes.... With the way the GTR initially passed you though and watching him go off course twice I don't blame you. That dude needs more brain and less horsepower.
Apart from not knowing the track, GT-R driver had to be drunk or something. That random braking and sudden steering wheel movements...
If you see the brake lights on and off like a light switch, you know the driver is unsure of his inputs.
That gtr was dangerous. Should be in a lesser powered car to learn the course.

@@DMAX-tp4pc yeah I've seen that safety feature. But I'm sure they only do that in the most harshest of emergency stops. Like really hard braking to warn others behind. This seemed more like, on, off on off manually. The brake flashing was to irractic to be the on board computers.
But yeah your absolutely right, some modern cars do have that feature
He should have driven on a completely different track and a completely different car. As far as I know the Nordschleife is not the easiest track to drive on.
I mean there's nothing wrong with lack of skill and knowledge, but there are other tracks and locations which are better suited for beginners/drivers who are still learning.

This GTR driver can only drive straight. His racing line was really bad in corners. :P
it’s very annoying when a video about a certain niche gets popular and people who know nothing comment about what’s right and wrong. the brakes are functioning properly and this man isn’t “raping” the gearbox by hitting limiter. excellent driving sir!
