Bad Omens is insanely diverse. They have heavy, face-melting songs like "Dethrone" and they have beautiful acoustic versions of their songs like "Never Know" (which is also fantastic in its "plugged-in" version). Of course they also have these kinds of songs which are more dark/haunting and just to round it out, they have EDM(ish) like "what do you want from me?" and up tempo rock songs like "Limits". They are all fantastically gifted musicians and the lead singer, Noah, is definitely a musical genius. Thank you for checking them out!
you are correct that they started as a metalcore band, like their first album was more screams and vocal fry than cleans, then began experimenting where their sound in their second album. in a Q&A on his Twitch channel during quarantine, the vocalist Noah discussed working with a vocal coach and experimenting with what he'd learned his voice could do. he made a comment about how he couldn't keep using his voice the way he could when he was 17 when they started out. he also made a comment about learning to do the heavier vocals in a more healthy way. so their newest album to me is less about being more palatable to a wider audience and more about them maturing as adults and learning how to pace the harder stuff and do things more healthily that will lead to better longevity. regardless, extremely talented band and I love y'all's reactions. ps. I love the Falling in Reverse comparison, but possibly bc I'm low-key frustrated that everyone else reacting to them keeps comparing them to Bring Me The Horizon which I genuinely do not hear, especially for their newer music
I love this band and their music. They are very diverse musically. They were very heavy at first and they've evolved their sound and the vocalist Noah has started to show his vocal talent in their past two albums. I'd love to see you guys check out more of their stuff.
I do listen to it ALL.OF.THE.TIME! I love this heavy song and the surprise metal core part. This is definitely on MY playlist when I’m driving around or working out.
They are BETTER than falling in reverse
better than Falling in Reverse.
Darren may fight you on this 😉
