He's in good shape for 94
extremely he looks like 80
ikr some people are that old and cant even speak
Got that old school British stiff upper lip. Unfortunately its a disappearing thing with globalism and multi cultural ism
@@duuurs so true mate so bloody true.
@@duuurs globalism and multiculturalism? What does that have to do with being brave? The US for example was already multicultural in WW2 and they certainly were really brave and good troops. People from all cultural and ethnic backgrounds and countries fought hard in the war. Senegalese Tirailleurs are another example of good troops who served in many campaigns including the liberation of Southern France.
For a MAN in his 90’s he looks absolutely healthy. Better than most 70 year olds.
Shit, he looks better than me and I'm 24
@@samg1879 thats a little overreacted lmao
Maybe not better than 70 but close too
Being in the military does that to you xD
Damn, not even 70 he looks 60
Overcame bitterness and a keeps a positive attitude...a mans man. Thank you sir for your service. God Bless

WWII veterans are getting very thin on the ground now, those that are still with us are in their 90's. Bless em all, bless em all...🌼
The long and the Short and theTall!
It saddens me greatly that in 20 basicaly all of them on all sides will be gone
It's odd to think that we are the last generations that will ever be able to interact with WW2 vets.
@@harrymack3565 and we dont realize it. We dont even care. That is sad
I lowkey really want to talk with one and tell me their stories. Too bad my grandfather died in the Battle of the Bulge
I Respect And Love All Of You❤❤❤
I'm Ex British Army And I Don't Forget❤❤❤I Want To Salute All Of You❤❤❤
This guy looks amazing for being in his 90’s
He looks great for 94 and you can tell by the way he talks he’s still very much on it. Seems totally sharp.
I can’t believe this has 23 dislikes, this man is a hero
Antifa voted down because old white male.
@@SirVergewaltig0re stop trolling
@UpSideДown so did the neo nazi and Klan
RUclips automatically gives every video that has likes a number of dislikes
@@SirVergewaltig0re this guy was the original AntiFa. Think about that before you spout right wing shit. The ones he went to fight had similar views to the Murican right wing of today (who unashamedly wave Nazi flags around). Do not drink the fucking Koolaid.
It's sad that were going to be the last generation to be able to talk to these heroes
You mean watch
@@youareveryannoying9179 well yeah that's probably a better word to use
Hear
@Joseph Reed your dad is a hero
My grandfather was a officer on the eastern front. He told me much about the horrors on the front. Very harsh and scary.
Still clear minded and positive! Everybody should see this video. Good start of the day.
my uncle was in tanks the column he was in were blown up by german 88s he survived, he remembered the solid shot of the shell penetrating into the tank killing all the other crew members as it spun around the tank interior before destroying the tank he was severely wounded and left with a withered crippled arm for the rest of his life, he was recovered and captured by the germans who treated him well, the british declared him missing in action presumed killed as when a tank goes up there aint much left of human beings inside it; a german eventually managed to write to my grandmother telling her he was alive, my father and his brothers all fought in the front line and after the war one of their closest friends was an ex german pow who stayed on in britain; as common soldiers they had no time for others who never fought in war and who would think it a gloryish event
Now that's an incredible story, thank you for sharing it
David Gaston - This is indeed a very significant story. Even previously hostile enemies, after the war, making peace to the exclusion of those who never experienced combat, just seems so right.
@@webleypug thanks for your reply; my father my uncles plus my mother all served front line service and due to their experences, gave me a very un biased view of people war is only known to those who go through it
@@chelo4197 thank for your reply from my family of that time i learned from their un biased views how to be a better person
I thought the tiger 1’s 88 didn’t use solid shot
Damn! Now that is a man!!
Hes not a man, hes a soldier

he is walking without any support.... and quite quickly at that, amazing!
Honor to them all. Their generation gave so much & at tremendous cost
disagree.
I have a deep respect for this man and his generation, thank you sir.🇬🇧
What a hero, lovely guy and still as sharp as a knife. God speed
My step father was a paratrooper on D-day and was shot across the legs with a machine gun before he hit the ground and soon after his foot was partially blown away by a mortar round. He said he was laughing and said that "These f*ckers are trying to kill me!" He didn't think it was funny later on. You are a real trooper.
A real hero with a great sense of humour, the horror he must have seen and experienced. We owe men like this our freedom and so much more.
I don't care if they gave their life for me. I am not giving up my grilled cheese sandwich.
When I say "Hero" most would think of a man of steel, invincible immortal to bullets and bronze, but the real heroes are those who run towards death threw a storm of steel, flaming winds, and a wall of lead. Real heroes can feel fear.
Wow an absolute legend of a man! And looks great for 94
What an amazing man.
Injured body, but unbroken spirit
What a gentleman 🙏🍀. All the best to you Sir. Regards from Rome.
Please don’t ever use the word “hero” in regards to any professional athlete as long as one of these men is alive! Semper Fi!
not a marine
Lol he’s not a marine he’s a royal marine from the UK
What a wonderful man!
He talks and walks so confidently for a man in his 90s. Much better than some of my great uncles in their 70s and mind you they all still have their legs.
What a legend. Thanks for your service and lifetime of sacrifice Roy.
He looks great for his age! Thank you for your service!
Oh my goodness, a "gardening grant" God bless them for covering that! It's really the simple things in life, isn't it!? 🖤
Sizleri izlerken çok gurur duyorum kahramanca savaş verdiniz.

I would be honoured to buy Mr. Hayward a pint of Beer in a pub. Total respect to the man.
I always told my kids to respect elders as you never know the things they have have seen & done ... Manners & respect cost nothing
94?? Bless him. Good genes. A country that takes care of their protectors. Cheers!
You sir are an absolute hero !
This is a very strong man! No BULLSHIT!
Thank you I will never forget your sacrifice.
He showed incredible bravery.
one of the most kind person on earth
Sharp as a knife & with a great sense of humour. That’s what’s kept him so Young & healthy looking I assume.
Happy to see you are doing so well Roy. Thank you for your service and sacrifice.
I'll be grateful if I'd be as lively and vigorous as him when I'm 60!
I am truly humbled by this man, what a true hero. More people need to see this, I think perhaps your film title isn't the most engaging.
This is the difference between his generation and the generations of today. He doesn't complain, he doesn't feel like anyone owes him anything. He is happy for the support he gets but isn't letting this get in the way of his life. So many today would be expecting everyone else to do everything else for them.
Thank you sir for your service, sacrifice and the motivation and inspiration you give me and every other person who has honor and dignity.
Get off your soapbox, not the time or place.
Thank you Sir. You are from the greatest generation that ever lived. My Uncle also severed in WW II and it was due to his leadership and courage that gave me the courage to join the Military. Fortunately, I did not have to endure the horrors of war. I don't know what the future holds with so many young people being cowards today. Thank you again, Sir, for your service. Your service allowed my family and I to enjoy a good level of freedom.
Looks so healthy for 94 , true Hero
God bless you, hero.
He is the only WW2 vet I've heard of with serious injuries and still alive and also appears to be in very good health as far as I can tell. Pretty awesome if you ask me! This guy is Legendary!
we have to thank these guys. Without them this world would be very different.
He looks sooo strong for a 94 year old
Thank you for your unimaginable sacrifice. God bless
then please answer the question why your god did not prevent him from being crippled?
@@Flying_Acehole first of all, he not just my God, he is everyone’s God and the only God. He works in mysterious ways, ways that might not make sense, but he has a path and a reason for everything. Look at it this way, maybe his legs being blown off saved him from being killed later by another shell or bullet. His injury altered and changed his path in the future. That alteration changed his whole life, and by the looks of it, it looks like he has lived a good life. Altering his path layed down the bricks to his new life and future such as wife, kids, and friends. All things I bet he will say are blessings.
@@JohnDoe-du6yi "first of all, he not just my God, he is everyone’s God and the only God " = Interesting. religious terrorists say exactly the same thing ..

Hallo im from Norway this man is a hero
Insane that he’s 94. Looks very healthy and well put together for a man of his age 🔥
These were men from 16 to 20 year old going to the unknown leaving everything behind not knowing if they were going to survive or not in order to fight for their country these are true heros
What a hero!
I saluted this HERO three times as he told his story. SALUTE Again SIR! Thanks to BLESMA also!
And he still remembers the day.
I can’t even imagine what he must have went through
For someone 94, he looks miraculous. A strong, well rounded hero right there, shrugging off the past like it was nothing or something minimal to him. Gen Z should take notes and understand how "Privileged" they are today.
A true gentleman and a hero.
For those 70 who clicked on thumbs down you should be ashamed of yourselves.
You Sir are an inspiration and a hero. Thank you for your service and god bless you.
I'm so glad I could hear this story. It's great to know such a large community cares about veterans. There are so many homeless veterans having people say that they are just masked murderers. Behind every gunsight is a human being.
Respect sir you gave your yesturday for our tomorrow 🙏
Let's not forget those soldiers were only kids.god almighty protect them all in your beautifully warm embrace.
My humble and sincere thanks for your service Sir. And my absolute contempt for the 57 Fxxxers who gave it a thumbs down dislike.

I am watching from Kingston, Jamaica. I feel a ptofound sense of gratitude to this man for the personsl sacrifices he has made so that we may enjoy the freedoms we do today. It is so good to see that he has been able to retain his sense of humour, despite all he has been through.
Sir you and my grandfather spilled blood in the same mud. I will forever cherish your memory and sacrifice along with all those other Brave young men
God bless you
Best of the Best. Thank you for your service!!
Thank you for your service Brother. (Ex British and Canadian forces). We have Veterans Affairs Canada who look after the needs of Canadian Forces Veterans with similar support as you mention regarding Blesma.
