Semi dark sonic and dark sonic is actually quite accurate to real life. When you are enraged, your body draws blood from your gut and directs more to your arms and legs, therefore actually making you slightly stronger and faster. It also increases adrenaline which is another aspect that increases your physical attributes.
Don't forget that getting angry can also give you dark magic powers. I can confirm.

Bit of a late extra thing, but I also like how you incorporated a more ruthless and pragmatic approach for Dark Sonic/Dark Hyper Sonic.
Normal Sonic maybe have been all for the challenges, fair fights, all with a cocky attitude, but still relatively happy.
Here that's all *gone.* He hits hard, hits fast, every opening is exploited, and he never stops his stride to taunt, heck, he didn't even do both at once.
*BOTH* Times Sonic exe. could have seriously turned the battle around to his favor-via transforming or charging a super powerful attack-, Dark Sonic made sure he couldn't finish, and stole the former opportunity for himself.
He didn't want to win. He wasn't interested in playing Sonic.exe's twisted mind games. He wanted that bastard *DEAD.*
And that's a promise he certainly fulfilled.
Character-wise, you've gotten Dark Sonic down as a no-nonsense nemesis. Kudos.
I always love reading comments like yours. Really interests me how my viewers see each and every single element I implemented into my animation^^ I always hated it when the hero just let the villain "do its thing" which is why sonic did not wait here to finally kill exe. Anyways thanks for your comment^^

This is kind of late to explain but--
The reason why Dark sonic was able to reach this ''Dark Hyper'' form is because of the chaos emeralds being converted into super emeralds.
Normally sonic would NEVER reach that form, the only way to summon the super emeralds is with strong feelings-
Sonic.exe can cheat in order to do that, he possesses sonic, forcing him to achieve Super forms, super forms require positive energy which .exe can't provide, which is why he forces his host to go super or do the super emeralds trick.
So, since sonic.exe forced his host to activate the emeralds into Super emeralds, both of them can achieve Hyper.
But it unlocks something else, more negative energy.
An example would be nazo unleashed, in nazo unleashed Nazo is able to get more power from the super emeralds because they now have more negative energy to offer.
Same with Dark sonic,
now that .exe unlocked the super emeralds, he can now use all that negative power to go in a Dark hyper form.

Now, the reason why Dark sonic is able to switch back and forth to Positivity is because of the properties of the Hyper form.
To achieve hyper form, like said, you need a very strong motivated mind.
His motivation is to kill sonic.exe for the hatred he feels towards him, but at the same time dark sonic wishes to avenge his friends, which is positive thoughts.
Thanks to that, Dark sonic is able to switch during his Hyper state, he can focus on his hatred when desiring a Dark hyper form and focus on his friends when wanting to achieve a Hyper form.

Hey you probably dont know me but i have been animatin for over 10 years now, and let me tell you: The amount of talent and imagination you invested here shows. there is so much raw potential you should work on polishings. Of course there is room for improvement, but i honestly think this is a fun, engaging, imaginative and well done fight. The concept on his own is engagin af. Agreed. He destroyed the silver and gold prototype robots more easily since he was worried about Chris and Cosmo. It has been a while since I watched Sonic X but Sonic characters don't usually show much sign of injury in games or shows so the metarex overlord leaving a bruise was enough to trigger that and Eggman warns the overlord about avoiding such cruelty and Sonic about using such raw anger to a point of general hostility like Shadow does. It has been a while but I remember that season of Sonic X the best since it is distinct from the previous story arcs which pull influence largely from the Sonic Adventure games. I did not own those but I learned about them later on RUclips. It feels good to see such a malicious entity lose for once too.
Some day I too,we'll have the power to do sprite animations like this one.
