Yes it has happened to me recently. I ordered two reborn dolls from the same artist and it was very clear once the dolls arrived that artificial lighting and editing had been applied to the artist's photos. The paint work on both dolls was so much lighter than the artist's photos and the hair looked different also. I ended up having to sell the dolls for substantially less than what I paid for them. The dolls were purchased by mother's looking for a cheap reborn doll for their daughter's birthday - that's how bad these reborn dolls looked in real life. This experience has actually put me off buying reborn dolls.

So I’m pretty young ( I’m in junior high) and so I don’t have my own money so I’ve always bought reborns off Amazon and I’ve never really been able to just not have a connection with a baby I kinda just had to accept how they look but I recently got another reborn and I love her surprisingly I got twin a by Bonny brown and she’s actually pretty realistic

So many children and babies in need..and then there is this whole community of people in 1st world nations who have enough disposable income to spend money on dolls or dogs. Our world is doomed.

When you take in the fact that the kits alone can be well over 100 and it can take 20+ hours for some babies start to finish, 600 is a STEAL. Add in the box opening and shipping and you are paying an ARTIST less than a fast food worker!!
@Ayousha Ahmed I totally understand. That's why many of us save for a year or more for our dream baby. It's like any other collectors, or hobby. I personally take a huge cut when I resell my babies because I want other collectors to get the opportunity to see and own a high quality work of art. I'm currently reselling two of my dolls, both are less than half what I paid for them.

It can be very therapeutic to women with infertility, child loss, or miscarriage. It is an outlet for that maternal feeling and can help someone to cope with loss. Be curious, not judgmental. :)

And no, it's never happened to me. I always study photos and look at the artists other work. I would do A LOT of research on artists. My main thing was finding box openings of the artists dolls on RUclips. Luckily I found someone who I became friendly with and she's done my last three customs.

Hi Fabiola! Be ware of rsg dolls,they are really bad...sorry to name drop ,but they're a rip off ,many doll places are,but your dolls are VERY pretty,my two favorites are Autumn,and Emily ,thank you for these Fabiola.

Yes. I once spent $700 on a doll but when I got her, she looked totally different than the pictures and was very poorly painted and just didn't look good at all. Luckily I was able to get a full refund, but it made me real nervous when I opened up my next doll!
I find this totally ridiculous. Dolls are made for children to play with. They don't need to see the delivery of the doll. You've stepped over the line. Too much information regarding the birthing of a baby is being related to innocent children, which they can't comprehend. Chilldren just want a soft cuddly baby doll to hug and care for. Your obviously are missing something in your life.
