@@Thatfpsguy I swear every time they drop a new jump up hit it's always got that original raw ragga sound but simultaneously somehow keeps such a current sound that resonates perfectly with the times. I dunno how they always do it so perfectly.
Saw them for the first time in North Carolina last month. I'm still speechless over how they continue to create amazingly seamless, properly produced tunes over the years and just how hard they go when performing live.
Having grown up listening to Chase & Status' music has been incredible but to hear from the guys themselves what they had to go through, to push themselves to where they are today is truly inspiring. Amazing role models for anybody let alone for aspiring music producers, their story hits relates to anyone and I've built a new level of respect for them not only as artists but as people.
@@section23I think he means their longevity and creativity only getting better and staying ahead of it’s time, and also making timeless music. These guys really are insanely talented
Why’s that insane? Like a lot of things, you improve and get better with age. They’re only in their 40’s, always looked to be original in their ideas and evolved with the scene.
I think the fact that they're just being creative and releasing new kinds of shit after 20 years and haven't run out of ideas and things to try is mind-blowing af
Great interview, thanks a lot. I have a big respect for Chase and Status. It's great how they managed to achive comercial success and stay humble and true to their roots. You obviously can tell they are a money making brand now, everything is well thought and mapped out, each album is a concept/project but it all still feels fresh, interesting and genuine. I am glad they can live by doing what they love
Really insightful, and not just from a musical pov. Love the demand more from yourself, be consistent, and know your worth. Their new BoilerRoom set was amazing and I'm sure sets them up for another decade of success. Great Podcast.
An obsession is a greattt way to put it, obsessed enough to make it ✊🏻 big up lads, one of my main inspirations for getting into this game all them years ago!
Amazing interview. Would love to see more of Will and Saul in video / podcast format... Can't wait for the album release in June and cya at the live show! :P
Crazy to think I've been on the journey of Chase and Status since their first EP, The Ten Tonne EP in 2005 (I got it on Vinyl) to this day Trapdoor is still my favourite tune of theirs.
Still one of the best live shows I've seen - Chase & Status supporting Kasabian on NYE 2011 at the 02. Great to hear from the guys. (Zane Lowe wasn't a bad warm up DJ either!)
It is just what people do in general, is copy eachothers body language without even realising that they are doing it. Saul folded his arms and Will subconsciously followed suit. It happens quite a lot, you will notice if you look for it
They’re one of the great duos and this will sound fucked, but they’re the new Total Science to me, Total Science were the new Krome and Time, Krome and Time were the new 808 State or on a shorter time line the new KLF. Anyway when ever Chase n Status drop a new tune or album, you know it’s gonna be the proper business
I had to go this channel to see the inventor of podcasts in action to see how this entirely brand new medium works. Don’t worry Jake I’m here to support your channel, not to stand on the sidelines ready to snipe and have a bit of a pop.
What would that entail, though? Endless moaning about competitors, how he's always been hard done by & overcame "racism" to become one of the most successful drivers of all time?
Personally the very last thing I want to see / hear is musicians and djs I like doing these kind of boring yuppie high achiever interviews with people who probably listen to Coldplay. Terrible questions too.
Some artists can beguile you and wax lyrical about their extraordinary charmed lives as well as do the thing for which they are renowned and some cant. This is like watching a really dreary emulsion slowly ......yawn ...i cant be fucked
bruh wtf. You clearly have no idea what you are talking about. They are Producers not only DJs. It's not easy at all to Produce DnB Music on their level.
I can guarantee that they have more talent in their pinky finger alone than you could ever wish to have. They have built a legacy and stood the test of time. Their songs are timeless, they are unique, and in their 40s they are staying relevant, selling out venues still, and gaining a new generation of fans. They are icons of British music
That boiler room set is a masterpiece and I am not even a regular jungle listener.
These guys are 20 year deep in one of the most competitive industries in the world. Respect.
Not only that but have stayed at the tippy top the whole way

Saul is the man! He sounds like Captain Price from Call of Duty.
Just watched the boiler room show and now I’m hooked.
How these guys are still cranking out absolute bangers in their 40's is insane.
What's age got to do with it? If anything, the more experience in the history of jungle is far better than being 18 and bashing out noise no?

Seen them live so many times around the world . Never disappointed.
Absolutely love Chase & Status. Seen them live and DJ sets and always smash it 💪🏽💪🏽

Can't believe this was a year ago before their 2023 success and hits as well
Ive followed them for about 20 years, more than alot the album changed my life, damn what an album.
Nobody baddadan Chase & Status. See you at Tomorrowland.
Impactful interview, I have a feeling I will keep looking back to this interview in the future.

This whole interview is just pure motivation, thankyou 🙌

Another great podcast with some themes echoing through about collaboration, trust and honesty. Thanks
Saul needs to throw some vocals down on a track or two! His voice is ❤🔥
Boiler room set 🔥
Absolute weapons grade music. I’m not that into D&B, but that mix has had me throwing shapes round my kitchen multiple times now.
@@rorymacvicar4556lol, for real 👍
Nothing but love and respect for these man 🔥❤️
Jake "Do you feel like you could have enjoyed your journey more?"

On point.

So rad. Saw Kasabian in Dallas that year, but only just saw Chase & Status this past June!
These guys live are immense!!!! Absolute banger after banger!!
Massive respect for these two, great interview
LEGENDS !!!
This was awesome guys! Great interview. Subbed and will defo be going through your other vids
I always thought they were one guy called Jason Status
Great interview as always! Kindly look into bringing the legendary Peter Drury on the Podcast.
Pair of legends
WISE UP!
I’m no body language expert but it’s interesting how they both cross their arms at 22:00
It is just what people do in general, is copy eachothers body language without even realising that they are doing it. Saul folded his arms and Will subconsciously followed suit. It happens quite a lot, you will notice if you look for it
Still doing bangers too🔥🔥
Legends ❤
Baddadan
I saw his set at the boiler room and it seems he is morphing in to Dave Myers from the Hairy Bikers 😆
how did i only just find this!
Two very mature men.
Great guests 👏🏼

love this
Great video guys👍
why didn’t Jake press them both on who gave them the bass sample for Ten Tonne ?
FYI, small, inconsequential mistake on the title card - “Greg Hoffman”.
Aside from that, great episode, and nice with there being two people on the other side!
3:50 - "i collected vintage.... somthing somthing" what did he collect i cant understand?
‘Moschino’.. I think
@@JohnWinstanley86Beanos?
I want to know when they will release the Tom Jones dub? That's never been heard before.

Saul’s the drum and bass head
❤🔥🔥🔥
Will sounds a bit like Christian Horner
Is there a chance that one day you would do a podcast with Lewis Hamilton?
Haven't you seen him interviewed enough times alrerady Kobe?
What would that entail, though? Endless moaning about competitors, how he's always been hard done by & overcame "racism" to become one of the most successful drivers of all time?
Why would anyone want to watch that?
Nope pal Trouble Anderson could mix everything and anything
2:28 🤓
For the heads this interview is not great. The two interviewers especially the northern one is so out of his depth.
Aren't they just interviewing two high performers in their field? They aren't trying to pretend that they are part of the scene or anything, lol
@@bobbypukes605 Just a bit more in depth research would of been good. It was lazy and super boring
The least dj looking DJs ever!

There is nothing world class about pressing the spacebar. Stuff like this is popular because you know nothing about music.
