Whoever said that Amorphis aren't that good live has probably never seen them playing at a live concert, because they are awesome as I can attest from several concerts at different venues. The one thing I can't attest to is which is my favorite song by them, because there are so many of them (they've done 14 studio albums since 1992) and this here? Is "just" a bonus song from Queen of Time. By the way regarding the lyrics, since Silent Waters (2007), they've been written by a finnish artist named Pekka Kanulainen in the finnish language and than been translated to the english lyrics on the albums. Not every band has their own poet, but Amorphis have. ^^
Such an underrated band. Was lucky enough to see them at a small venue on the Queen of Time tour and Tomi and the whole band was amazing live. Seriously nice people as well. If you are ever in a bad mood, listen to their song "Come the Spring" Is a bonus track on an album and to me it is just such a beautiful song. Fairly simple, but the melodies and vocals are beautiful. Definitely worth checking out.
Great song and reaction! And this was 'only' a bonus track. In fact, some of Amorphis best songs have been bonus tracks! If someone would put together all their bonus tracks, it would make for one incredible album in its own right! Tomi's vocals, both clean and harsh are amazing. You really must do Amongst Stars (official music video) from the same album next.
Amorphis is my other most favorite band besides Epica - and this is one of the most beautiful songs ive ever heard - the lyrics and the melody and the singers voice is so amazing
my fav track by Amorphis is Towards and Against and especially the live version from the album and dvd Forging a Land of a Thousand lakes (Oulu) the three albums Eclipse, Silent Waters and Skyforger are a must listen thanks for checking Amorphis out again
I have no idea what that person was talking about because I saw Amorphis live in November and they were by FAR one of the most amazing live bands ever. Think of how good they are in the studio, which is already divine, and imagine that being better live. Because somehow miraculously they ARE EVEN BETTER LIVE. Tomi sings even better live, I don't know how, but he does.
By the way, another comment. They ARE a great live band. They just do not have always had best recordings from those. I have seen them so many times in small venues and bigger audiences, and they always put 100% efford.
thanx to react this top 3 still active finish band :) yeah try they live concert song sampo ruclips.net/video/OGYHTJevXkQ/видео.html thanx and have wonderful day there. fun fact. nightwish marko hietala was hired amorphis to teach tomi how to sing right with english and other singing tips in past :)
I don't know what is Amorphis' best song, haven't heard them all yet (but they are all good). "Silent Waters," "Death of a King", "From the Heaven of My Heart," "Sacrifice," "On the Dark Waters," some of my favs.
You should listening Amorphis as songs alone...the best way is to listen album from start till end. Do not stop between, just close your eyes and enjoy. They have not done ever anything bad, but I recommend to start with following 3 albums: Skyforger, Under the Red Cloud, Queen of Time
Amorphis is a great band and a killer live band. I will not say any names but some really big bands sounded "watered down" at a festival when they performed after Amorphis.
Absolutely, yes!! One of my favourite Amorphis songs featuring one of my favourite female singers. It doesn't get much better! Like you said, great video too. Cronic and Alanna, you simply must do this one!
Just love this song..well ..i love almost all of them😁 Amorphis is great, too bad there isn't that much good recordings live by them..Tomi's voice is just so soothing
Lyrics are based to finnish epic folklore Kalevala, like every song. But after all your own interpretation is the one that really counts. Impossible to pick one favorite song. Maybe if have to give quick answer today, it could be "On The Dark Waters" I disagree, what comes to Amorphis live shows. Definitely worth to see, especially in inside arenas or clubs. Outside arenas, like festivals, wont give the best from the most bands, IMO
Not true. Pekka Kainulainen himself has said that in the first three albums he made lyrics for (The Silent Waters, the Skyforger and the Beginning of Times) the lyrics were more or less connected with the tales of Kalevala but the rest of his Amorphis texts are from his own mind and pen. Even in those first three albums there were songs not related to Kalevala or traditional finnish folk lore.
@@mattitu You are right. I have to admit that I made an overstatement about the lyrics. I have answered so many times to people who wonders the lyrics that they are based on Kalevala, so I tend to forget that not every songs is directly from the folklore. I apologize
@@ApocalypseRider But you're true with the live performances. I've seen Amorphis live tens of times since '98 or something and it's always been great, apart from maybe couple of the last gigs with Pasi.
You need to watch one of their live shows when Tomi had 5 foot long dreds, you ain't seen nothing till you've seen someone do windmills with 5 foot long dreds. 😄
A song both in Finnish and in English, but with different performers: "My Kantele (Eriskummainen kantele) - Loituma" and "Amorphis - My Kantele (Acoustic Reprise)". Amorphis before Tomi. You've listened to Amorphis, which is the godfather of Finnish Folk Metal and Moonsorrow, which is one of the Big 5 Finnish Folk Metal bands. Here are the rest four: "Ensiferum - Andromeda (OFFICIAL VIDEO)", "TURISAS - Stand Up And Fight (OFFICIAL VIDEO)", "Finntroll - Trollhammaren" and "KORPIKLAANI - Henkselipoika (OFFICIAL VIDEO)".
I think Amorphis, Ignea and Unleash the Archers are the only current bands that I can just play their albums all the way through. Of course I do not advise this while driving.
Not gonna lie I saw brother and sister in the thumbnail and then couple reacts in the title, and as a person who doesn't know who amorphis is I was very confused for about 5 seconds lmao

The Bee is from Queen Of Time. Try Amongst Stars and Death Of A King, my favourite Amorphis tracks. 😉

From The Heaven Of My Heart. Tomi’s voice is like velvet, alltogethwr a beautiful piece of music.
Official video shows bit of behind the scene also.
Amorphis is my other most favorite band besides Epica - and this is one of the most beautiful songs ive ever heard - the lyrics and the melody and the singers voice is so amazing
👋🏼from Finland!
One of my top bands. .just saw them live . amazing!! You should make a reaction video for the moon from AMORPHIS.
my fav track by Amorphis is Towards and Against and especially the live version from the album and dvd Forging a Land of a Thousand lakes (Oulu) the three albums Eclipse, Silent Waters and Skyforger are a must listen thanks for checking Amorphis out again

100%, saw them many times, just in the early days they were sometimes a bit too drunk, haha.
I've only ever heard Tales from... & Elegy. Also the associated EPs. I love those albums.
Just listend to Tales of the Thousand Lakes on my run today. Not a bad one :)
I say check out their live stuff. My favorite would be towards and against at Oulu forging the lands of a thousand lakes tour

Amorphis and Wintersun 🇫🇮❤️

Best band from Finland 🇫🇮 watch " Irish from Finland" and Finnish mythology. He's so good !
listen to Insomnium, another great Finnish band in the same genre.
Insomnium - Heart like a grave
Amorphis is a great band and a killer live band. I will not say any names but some really big bands sounded "watered down" at a festival when they performed after Amorphis.
They definitely are great live, but it's true there aren't a lot of great audio live recordings on RUclips, such as for Nightwish for example.
Amongst stars. With Anneke van Giersbergen. That is great. Do that. It has a great video btw.
Absolutely, yes!! One of my favourite Amorphis songs featuring one of my favourite female singers. It doesn't get much better! Like you said, great video too. Cronic and Alanna, you simply must do this one!
I love love love Tomi's voice ❤

Tomi also has another band called Sinisthra and he did vocals on Hallatar album.

Not good live? They're great.
