I have to say besides life on display this is my favorite album of theirs. Purple heart & locket are my favorite tracks. Also this came out in 97? Time flies man
Idk if it's me but Abrasive sounds like a 1997 version of Stoned. Hear closely and you can gander the similarities. I think. Though Abrasuve is heavy and phucking bloody groovie!
It’s interesting to see just how Grunge these guys were when they started. Very Nirvana/AIC/Pearl Jam styled. Depending on which song. I kind of wish they stuck with this sound. I know bands evolve and all that, I feel like they were influenced a lot by the bands they toured with and such and changed their sound for it. But Come Clean and prior is my favorite Puddle Of Mudd work. I don’t care much for afterwards, are they guys still making stuff?

ivan medina it’s style is FAR closer to that of Pearl Jam and some of Alice In Chains work, but his voice is more reminiscent of Kurt, but that’s literally his voice. This really isn’t all that close to Nirvana.
ivan medina Hmm, I can see how some people don’t like this sort of music, personally I do like a good portion of it. I don’t like most of Nirvana’s “hits” though. And can’t stand Puddle Of Mudd Past their album Come Clean. And I know, I hate when people throw fits online so I try not to come off that way. But I don’t quite see how this is a Nirvana knock off, I mean it IS VERY grunge style and his voice is similar, but this isn’t really Kurt’s or Nirvana’s style as much as it is the other big Grunge artists. Nirvana had less... well Nirvana was Nirvana. Kurt didn’t care how he sounded or if he was singing “right” and they didn’t care if they were sloppy at all. Puddle Of Mudd is kind of like a more refined Nirvana but with a lot of elements from other Grunge artists like AIC and Pearl Jam. (Y’know, until Come Clean, then they were Post Grunge, and after that was just... not my cup of tea) But that’s my two cents.
I guess there’s quite a bit of punk in a few songs too which is something Nirvana did, so I can see how a lot of people thought they were just a Nirvana knockoff
