lenticular being the "hit" is the reason I am staying away from this release.

That's totally fair. They are nice looking cards, but it's tough to drum up the interest in them as the box hit.

Ugh I hate their boxes. They really need to guarantee an auto and or a relic/very low numbered parallel.

So I get this in theory, but just in looking at WWE Prizm from this year that would mean filling boxes with a couple $5-10 autos in a lot of cases. I don't think guaranteeing that would add much value. Same thing with relics or low numbered parallels.
If they're in every box, they're not special and the market just adjusts and makes those worthless.
Regardless I agree this configuration doesn't do much to create exciting breaks
