Oh so glad for the replay, I missed the first half when it was live. Thank yall for all the wonderful conversation. I am not going to name names in your comments, there was a female speaker that gave me that 'naw, I'm done' reaction when she told everyone that to speak in tongues, you just have to start uttering syllables, then practice while driving or getting ready for work...buy the book to learn more. Ugh.
Regarding belief in the Trinity. I think this is why trust in the living tradition of the Church is so important. Although the term "Trinity" wasn't used until, I think, Tertullian, the concept existed from the start and permeates the NT writings. It was only when the Church's trinitarian beliefs were challenged by Arius and his followers, who posited that the Son was the highest of created beings, but still created and not co-eternal with the Father, that the Church was forced to hammer out what it had always believed in doctrinal form.
@DiscipleDojo Thanks a lot man for your recommendations of hermeneutical books. I got the Grasping God’s Word and started digging into it. Your 🔥 recommendations since being introduced to you by Pastor M. Holloway video with you.
This was the 2nd one we've done. I announce them in posts here on the page as well as on Instagram. So make sure you have notifications enabled so you don't miss them.
Didn't Rabbis often bring listeners to a portion of text by reciting a line from it, since then there was no chapter and verse like we have now? I feel like Jesus was directing whoever was there to that portion of scripture so they would realize what was being fulfilled as they looked on.
Lot's of crazies hyper-focused on Enoch and other such books. But, the late Michael Heiser is an orthodox scholar to read for anyone who is interested.
I missed it too. I knew it was scheduled, but had other things that kept me from watching it live. The tyranny of the urgent! Not enough hours in the day.
Hello James. There were more revisions then that. The KJV had revisions in 1613, 1629, 1638, 1644, 1701, 1744, 1762, 1769, and 1850. Also if you buy a KJV in the store today, you are most likely getting the 1769 revision.
No, no, no! No rending of the Trinity! God is 3 in 1 from all eternity and will be for all eternity, as it is intrinsic to God's very being. God is triune by nature.

1885. Wasn't that when the KJV was first revised - the Revised Version - based on the then new critic text?

As a fellow Norwegian who was originally raised as a Lutheran, I had a question for Lois - "What is your opinion on lutefisk?" 😁
😂 I had lutefisk once. I can't recall whether or not I liked it. Fish cured in lye doesn't sound very appealing. But, I should give it another chance.
