  • Another song by Danny Kaye, written by his wife, Sylvia Fine, from the 1961 movie, "On the Double".
When the fine mist of Scotland is over the glen
I am dreaming of Meggie and remembering when
We would stroll there together and swear ne'er to part
With her eyes like the heather, she had stolen my heart.
Meggie, the year that has passed now since we've been apart
But my wee darlin' Meggie is still in my heart
With her eyes like the heather, and skin fresh as dew
To my wee darlin' Meggie, I will e'er be true.
To my wee darlin' Meggie, I will e'er be true.

Thank you so much. My wife and I love this song. Our youngest child is named Meghan and of course she will always be our wee darlin' Meggie.
