I'm not a guitarist, or a musician for that matter, so I can only speak from a music enthusiast's perspective, but I think what I love about this song that stands out from the rest is the ebb and flow of energy. He knows how to build it up, release, have quiet parts to reset. I think this is very easy to listen to without thinking too much. I think this is why many people can relate to this song emotionally.
It's a good song but there are a couple of versions of this on his channel that are much better. I don't like this version as much because there were sound issues that lost the tune in some places. That being said, this is one of his earlier pieces and he's refined so much in the past decade since this. If you go to his actual page where the audio is much more clean you'll find several. At the moment my favorites are from "Flow! (2021)","Internal Flight Experience - Revival (Live in Oltingen 2021 version)", "Bird's Teardrops ft Peia" and "Beyond." The first one is nearly 20 minutes long so far too long for a reaction. The second is closer to 15 minutes and the last two are much shorter at about five minutes.
That guitar has to be well constructed to keep the tune, considering his aggressive playing. Yes, the song might improve with some editing in some places.
I'm not a big fan of this style. It has some cool parts, such as the antiphony. But it gets old after a while. The same progression over and over and over. Not much melody to speak of. Sounds quite improvised.
