Glad you enjoyed it! I completely agree with you. I think for the average person the Bora Tempest bits would be a great fit, but for someone that needs the better bit, the price difference between the Fisch and Freud is negligible and coughing up the difference would be money well spent. Cheers!
The next title will will be "sorry I couldn't finish the video I'm still drilling holes" 😂 fwiw, I would a wood river set a long time ago, they don't even compare to any of these. Haven't tried the rockler bits and never heard of Famag 🤷
“Best” until tested is somewhat subjective huh. What we can say for sure is Famag are ludicrously expensive, and since these shown here are already top end bits, it is not clear, or likely, that Famag will give you a pro-rata increase in efficiency anything above these premium bits. Also, where Fisch (I have their excellent Black Shark editions to be clear) can be re-honed I am not sure you can achieve that with Famag’s more complex grooves and cutters. Nothing wrong with Famag of course, if you don’t mind the huge outlay, but are you getting anything more for that extra money?
@@contessa.adella I bought them for the hex drive for deep boring in hollow forms and vases. All other round shanks I have tried with set screw fastenings have failed. I agree they are expensive but a real time saver in this application.
Superb however the music does nothing but make me want to stop the video. This is not about entertainment you're giving incredibly valuable information for people who will listen to you talk try doing it without the canned music
That was a side by side comparison test. End grain, a challenge to get a clean cut in.
Well done Mr. Mike
Thank you sir! Glad you enjoyed it!
Great job. I’ve always wanted to compare this type of drill bits. Your video answered a lot of my questions. Thank you
Thank you, I'm so glad it was helpful!!!
Great comparison. Interesting results. I think it is either the Fisch or Bora bits depending on budget. But looks like any would do pretty well.

Nice work. Id love to see the house brand from Rockler and Woodcraft as well as the Famag in your follow up tests. 😉

Nice test but you missed the best. Famag beats out the rest hands down.
Maybe next time!
