Hi Nikhil, I beg you to make this as one of the segments in all your podcasts, so that we could understand how financially successful individuals are prioritising their respective lives.. For a family person it is inevitable to devote time for their personal chores which are quite unpredictable most of the time...I feel most youngsters are confused in this area of balancing carrier and personal life.... Due to unrealistic expectations like working long hours by providing lean resources to work effectively, which are common in most of the work places....
The subtle art of not giving a fck is very essential for an individual to function stress free... Pls make this balance question as one segment to understand various perspectives....

I think that boils down to what you think the nature of life is and it's purpose.
Everyone wants to be happy, and it is in pursuit of this happiness that most of us end up being sad.
Happiness and sadness are mere reactions to pleasurable and painful sensations.
Sensations are impermanent and hence meaningless, this contradicts the belief that you should give up short term pleasures for long term ones (delayed gratification), because pleasure is itself a myth.
Everyone wants to be satisfied and fulfilled, but your senses trick you by giving instant satisfaction, which is just a pleasurable sensation and hence impermanent.
When you go deeper you realise that living in this world of impermanence, is actually the reason of suffering. Hence achieving moksha, (which is a state where there are no sensations and senses) is the only way to be permanently happy and satisfied.
Every human, startup or corporate wants to maximize pleasure and minimise pain, which is objectively impossible.
Because it results in a cycle of cravings and aversion, which is inherently the opposite of satisfaction.
You can start by observing your body sensations which is taught in Vipassana.
I hope you find this interesting Nikhil!!

The issue with these so called entrepreneurs is that they expect their employees to have the same sort of shit work life balance.
Buddy its your company, you can work how much ever you like. But as a 9-5 emp dont expect the same dedication from me. I will have my life beyond the 9-5. I dont want a double chin like you at 30 and i want to travel with friends and take care of my mum and dad.
Go all in, great. But dont project that onto your emps and expect them to do the same.

Stop idolising these entrepreneurs. Follow your true calling. What makes you happy, makes you do more in life? Follow that. Not what a shitty corporate boss expects you to. He/She is following their dream, their goal. Define yours, and work towards it. 40-50 hours of job, and the rest toward your future, not theirs
