Agreed, i havent been a huge fan of their other releases but the album is awesome. i'm unhappy especially is an incredible song, esp the full version (not the abridged version in the track video)
This album made me an Aespa fan and is probably in my top 3 kpop albums this year without any doubt. Went from not liking them at all to buying tickets to their upcoming concert.
In some line distribution videos, Naevis was the one singing the repeats in the "This city is so pretty when your lights on" and also the "You wanna come get it ready let's go" parts. Also she's the one singing the dararara part
As with all the groups under SM Entertainment, their storylines and concepts are all part of SM's Universe, including aespa's storyline. aespa's story, so far, primarily connects to EXO's and SuperM's storylines. I think SM has set it up so that at least all of their third generation groups -- and now even fourth gen. groups, with the introduction of aespa -- have storylines that connect, link together and intertwine. Each group has their own individual storyline and concept, but when you put them all together there are threads of connections between the groups. In order to understand aespa's storyline you really need to watch their MVs and content in order of when they were released. If you haven't yet, you should watch their debut "Black Mamba" MV, then their "Next Level" MV, and then their "aespa ep.1 'Black Mamba' - SM Culture Universe" video, then their "Savage" MV, then "aespa ep. 2 'Next Level' - SM Culture Universe" video, then their "Illusion" lyric video, their "Life's Too Short" MV, then their "Girls" MV, then their "aespa ep.3 'Girls (Don’t you know I’m a Savage?)' - SM Culture Universe" video, ("Welcome to MY World MV) and finally their ("I'm Unhappy" track video.) By watching all these videos in this order, you will see the group's story unfold in the order in which SM intended. To help you start to understand aespa better as a group and to explain a little more about what is happening in their MVs, you really need to watch aespa's "aespa ep1. 'Black Mamba' - SM Culture Universe" video that was released right before their MV for "Next Level" was released, their "aespa ep. 2 'Next Level' -- SM Culture Universe" video that was released before their "Girls" MV, and now, their "aespa ep.3 'Girls (Don’t you know I’m a Savage?)' - SM Culture Universe" video, which was released most recently. These are the episodes in season 1 of aespa's drama and it explains in more detail about aespa's storyline. As with everything that SM does, aespa is much more than just a singing group. SM created this group with the idea that they would become characters within SM's Universe and help to expand on the story that started with EXO. SM's SM Culture Universe has now grown to involve everything the company does. (You could sort of think of it like the Marvel franchise. Each of the Marvel characters has their own storyline, merchandise and fans, but the stories and concepts often overlap and connect. And with each new character that is introduced it expands on the whole Marvel universe.) aespa's concept revolves around the fact that their name means "avatar experience" and each of the girls has an avatar character that represents them, so they also are superhero-like beings, just like EXO and the members of SuperM. Their avatars, which you will see in all their other videos and even in live performance, aren't exactly "virtual members," but they are virtual characters that represent each of the members in the digital realm. As part of aespa's concept, it is thought that anyone who does anything online has a virtual character that lives online that represents them -- everytime we do anything online we leave a piece of digital DNA, which is what is used to create our digital selves or avatar. If you watch the ep. 1, ep. 2 and ep. 3 videos I suggested above, this will all become clearer and aespa's concept should make more sense. And just like EXO, the members of aespa all have their own powers and symbols that represent them: 💓Karina (Yoo JiMin) is the leader of the group; she is a main dancer and lead rapper: her symbol is a heart and her spirit animal is a whale. She is Korean. 🌕Giselle (Uchinaga Aeri) is the main rapper and a vocalist: her symbol is the moon and her spirit animal is a unicorn. She is Japanese. ⭐Winter (Kim MinJeong) is a lead dancer, lead vocalist and the visual of the group: her symbol is a star and her spirit animal is a Siberian Husky dog. She is Korean 🦋NingNing (Níng Yìzhuo) is the maknae and the main vocalist: her symbol is a butterfly and her spirit animal is a tiger. She is Chinese. In order to understand aespa's storyline, you really have to pay attention to the lyrics of their songs, because the lyrics help to explain aespa's concept and what is happening in their MVs. The way I see it is, there are two dimensions: aespa in the real world and their avatars (Kwangya) world. (Everything SM does has to do with Kwangya -- even SM's new building where everything is created and produced is called Kwangya. Kwangya is the metaverse that all of SM's storylines revolve around.) naevis -- the animated character you see in the MV -- is the creator and designer of the Kwangya world, kind of like the site administrator, and aespa trust naevis to protect them from all the bad things and protect the virtual world, etc. (MY is the name of aespa's fans, which could possibly mean that their fans are naevis because the fans are the ones who protect aespa and defend them from the evils of society, etc.) I think naevis must be the one driving the car because all 4 of the aespa members are seen as passengers in the car. Therefore, seeing as "Welcome To MY World" is thought to be taking place in an alternate reality, it makes sense that the car may be controlled by naevis, much like an antonymous vehicle that is controlled by a computer. We've seen naevis in almost all of aespa's MVs and videos. She's a main character in everything they do. I think she is supposed to embody the power of aespa's fans. I see her as the avatar that represents all of MY. However, this is the first time we have heard naevis sing. In "Welcome To MY World" the song ft. naevis because, if you look at a lyric video, you will see that naevis sings part of the hook and in the bridge. It looks like SM may have taken the story one step further and the company may be jumping on the virtual idol trend. I have read that the voice of naevis is literally being created by AI using a combination of 12 different voice actors to create a one-of-a-kind new singer/character as part of aespa's storyline. The story in "Welcome To MY World" is directly connected to aespa's ep.3 video. At the end of ep. 3 naevis was forced to leave Kwangya because she broke the rules and ventured outside of the FLAT in order to help aespa defeat the Black Mamba hacker. At the end of that video naevis informes the creators of Kwangya that if she can no longer stay in Kwangya then she knows where she wants to go, which is to MY's world. Therefore, in "Welcome to MY World," aespa are welcoming naevis to the real world where we fans live, to become part of an alternate reality. I also see "I'm Unhappy" as a continuation of the storyline and themes within their "aespa ep. 2 'Next Level' - SM Culture Universe" video and their "Life's Too Short" MV. In these songs and videos aespa touches on the darker side of idol culture and all the negative things that come along with living as an idol. In "I'm Unhappy" we see Winter as a victim of bullying, NingNing is someone who is suffering with anxiety, Karina is dealing with insecurities and the burden of living up to expectations, and Giselle is struggling with thoughts of self-harm and suicide. I think they switch from saying "I'm unhappy." to "I'm so happy" because they are saying, even though they are unhappy because of all the emotional, mental, and physical trauma, they still need to get up every day, and do all that is required of them as artists, singers, entertainers, people, etc. Therefore, even though "I'm unhappy" on the inside, with everyone else they hide behind the facade of, "I'm so happy." Even though they are unhappy, they put on a brave face and pretend to be happy. In other words, people think I should be happy all the time because I live a glamorous life, full of fame and fortune, but little do they know what is going on behind closed doors and what idols/people are really dealing with. The biggest stigma surrounding mental health is, the idea of: "What do you have to complain about? You're living everyone's dream. Why aren't you happy? Just ignore all those negative people and thoughts and be happy." That's why we have a mental health crisis in the world, people are afraid to ask for help and to talk about what they are going through. Instead, they cover it up, put on a brave face and pretend they are happy and nothing is wrong because people keep telling them they aren't allowed to be anything other than happy. As with everything to do with SM's SM Culture Universe storyline, yet again, the themes within its songs and MVs are designed to create a social commentary on issues within society that we as humans need to address if we are ever going to be able to conquer those evil forces, i.e. the Red Force from EXO's storyline, the Black Mamba in aespa's story or whoever the new villain -- which we discovered at the end of aespa's ep. 3 video, is now played by BoA -- turns out to be. The "villians" in SM's Universe storyline are all designed to be a metaphor for the real-life people and things we are all fighting against every day in our quest to create a better world. To see how the rest of the SM culture Universe is connected, see my replay attached to this comment.
To understand how all of SM's groups are connected, you need to know that it all began with EXO's debut in 2012. EXO's concept is that they are aliens from Planet Exo who have been sent to Earth on a mission to find and protect the Tree of Life from the Red Force, while also trying to fix all the things that are going wrong in the world, which are believed to be caused by the Red Force. The Red Force is thought to be here on Earth inflicting their evil agenda -- corrupting humanity and causing all the bad things that are happening in the world, such as war, hate and destruction of the environment, etc. And because EXO is trying to undo and prevent the Red Force from accomplishing their goals, the Red Force is also trying to take down EXO by capturing them, corrupting them and standing in their way, etc. Some theories even believe that Red Velvet is connected to EXO's storyline. Some think that Red Velvet, EXO's sister group, could be the Red Force, or they could at least be members of the Red Force. I think the villains in aepa's storyline maybe working with the Red Force, or it could be a separate evil being or group who also wants to find the Tree of Life and prevent peace from being restored in the Universe. Some fans are now even thinking maybe RV member Seulgi is connected to the hackers in aespa's storyline, as could possibly be shown in one of RV's recent MVs. This would only further the theory that Red Velvet is connected to the Red Force. But no matter what, I am sure RV is definitely part of the SM Culture Universe. And SuperM is the Kpop industry's very first supergroup, which debuted in October 2019. Their concept and storyline is centered around the fact that they are Avenger-like superheros, so SuperM is the group that pretty much connects everything together. As part of EXO's story, EXO members Baekhyun and Kai have recruited members from SM Entertainment's other male Kpop groups -- Taemin from SHINee, Taeyong and Mark from NCT and Ten and Lucas from WayV -- and formed SuperM, to help them battle the Red Force. It is said that the concept for SuperM is supposed to be like the Avengers, so, I see it as each of the members are a different kind of superhero that make up the larger "Avengers" group, just like how the Marvel Avenger members come together from all walks of life with all different abilities and powers, etc. to make up one big supergroup. Also, just like how the Marvel Avengers come together to combine their strengths and powers to help fight Thanos, I see parallels with what SM is doing with SuperM's storyline. SuperM is taking members from each group and joining forces to take down the Red Force. And just like how the movies "Avengers Identity War" and "Avengers Endgame" eventually had each of the Marvel Avengers members recruiting their whole crew to help in the fight, I think SM is setting it up so that all of its groups' members will eventually be brought into the fight. Theories have also speculated that NCT's/WayV's dream concept and storyline also connects to EXO's storyline. As with everything NCT does, it all has to do with dreams, dreaming or something to do with being in a dream state, which could very easily connect to EXO's other world and other dimension theories. Now, to explain how aespa is connected to the story. aespa debuted in November 2020, and most of their MVs that are connected to their storyline. I am also starting to wonder if maybe aespa has something to do with the Tree of Life from EXO's storyline, because, in aespa's "Next Level"MV, we see aespa and their avatars sitting around what looks like the Mother Tree from the Hollywood movie "Avatar," so I wonder if maybe aespa were made the guardians of the Tree of Life, tasked with hiding the two halves of the tree. Therefore, maybe the Tree of Life is what the Black Mamba is after. As we are told in the intro of EXO's debut "Mama" MV, the Tree of Life was split in half in order to prevent the Red Force from gaining control of the heart of the Tree of Life. However, the current state of everything on Earth has caused the heart of the Tree of Life to go cold, so now EXO needs to reunite the two halves of the tree in order to restore peace. So, I think part of EXO's mission is they are on a quest to find aespa in order to reveal where the tree was hidden. aespa was first introduced to the world in a teaser at the end of SuperM's "One (Monster & Infinity)" MV in 2020 -- about a month or so before aespa's debut. In the last scene of the "One (Monster & Infinity)" MV, we see Taemin with an LG phone and on the phone screen there is a symbol that appears. At the time, when that MV was released, we had no idea what that meant. However, soon after that, we discovered that the symbol you see on Taemin's phone -- ae -- is the logo/symbol for aespa. So, on top of being a teaser for aespa's debut, I think by making aespa a part of SuperM's MV, this was SM's way of establishing aespa's connection to SuperM's/EXO's storyline. Will aespa eventually join forces with EXO to defeat evil or will an evil hacker gain control and cause aespa to team up with (Red Velvet?) and become members of the Red Force? We will just have to wait to see how SM connects the dots and draws the storylines together. But I have a feeling that, eventually, aespa's story will connect to SuperM's story, and, along the way, also EXO, NCT and Red Velvet's storyline, and maybe Taemin's solo work, and possibly even SHINee. (Even though SHINee is part of the second generation in Kpop, the members are the same age as third generation group members, so they sort of bridge that gap between second and third generation.) aespa's story is just another one of SM's epic concepts and mysteries that we will have to wait and see where it takes us.
I think that they switch to "Im so happy " To Im unhappy " Because they are pretending to be happy (when they are not) to show other and bend in them easily. (U know sometimes we pretending to be happy when we aren't actually feeling it)
Ppl always forget NCT is also has a whole lore from NCT U until WayV and it's part of SMCU. New flash : U-know also has his lore. It's clearer know. (All of SM's groups and soloists have their own lore but not really clear)
In aespa's "Welcome To MY World" the song ft. naevis because, if you look at a lyric video, you will see that naevis sings part of the hook and in the bridge. Although we have seen naevis in all of aespa's videos, this is the first time we have heard her sing. I have read that the voice of naevis is literally being created by AI using a combination of 12 different voice actors to create a one of a kind new singer/character as part of aespa's storyline. It looks like SM is taking the story one step further and the company may be jumping on the virtual idol trend. See my other comment in order to understand what is happening in aespa's storyline in these MVs.
I Love This Album of Aespa And loved your reaction you always have nice reviews. I Know you coming Back slowly so I hope you give a Chance to the GirlGroup XG. Their First Mini Album is coming in setember
Just binge watched all your aespa reactions and now subscribed. Your analysis, reactions and just overall enthusiasm is great. Will definitely look forward to future vids (as well as catching up on reactions to other artists/bands I like too :D ). It's probably been requested a crazy ton but I hope you react to ep3 of their sm culture universe vids too. :)
I think the reason WtomyW says Ft Naevis is because SM is playing to debut her as a solo AI idol. Savage was part of a story arch that ended with them defeating Black Mamba so that is why they had just dark concepts for awhile. Of course they were going to move to the next phase even before LSM left, but W to My W is def a transition song to new concepts. Welcoming Naevis/fans to this new phase. Of course they won’t ditch the whole Kwangya thing entirely but I don’t think there will be such a heavy emphasis on it anymore since it was mainly LSM’s baby/passion project
@@Yetti. Have you seen clips of the AI gg called Mave that Kakao debuted? Actually I just learned that Kakao was behind Mave which makes sense cuz of their ties to SM. I guess it doesn’t seem too out there for me cuz Japan has had vocaloid idols for a long time. The most famous Hatsune Miku. Also I did wonder why Naevis was becoming prettier with each MV appearance. It seemed like SM was enhancing her but not the members’ AI’s
With the exception of Ningning, naevis actually had the most solo time on WTMW. I caught it the first time around because it sounded a tad robotic, and then during the call and response section they deliberately showed shots of nature instead of the girls on the response lines. The song was originally going to be naevis' solo in Mar or so and they thought they should show it to the girls since naevis was part of their lore and such, but aespa loved it so much that they "stole" the song from her so her actual debut is pushed to next year. Her voice is actually generated from a pool of 12(?) voices. Between naevis and HYBE's Supertone purchase it'll be quite interesting to watch how AI generated vocals develop in the kpop space. We've come a long way from more simpler vocal synthesizers like Vocaloid.
this album shocked me bc it is such a big change up from their previous releases. they have another comeback planned for september i think, which by the looks of it is following a more similar concept to this
Lol, we're confused too, naevis' only real part is that humming section. But, aespa have actually said that they straight stole WTMW from naevis, that was supposed to be her debut, poor her, thoughts + prayers. But, either way, the video does revolve around naevis being brought to REAL WORLD after having been banished from THE FLAT in SMCU 3, so, that's pretty much the answer. Thanks so much for reacting to aespa!
Welcome To My World is such an amazing song, the vocals, the strings, the production in general are all ethereal. I recommend deep diving into Red Velvet, I think you've even seen them live in London last year! They honestly have the best discography in all of kpop imo
the reason it says FT naevis is because she actually does sing for some parts , I think you should take a look at the lyric video to see the breakdown !!
this album is a masterpiece. savage is already an album that anyone should never missed but my world is on diff level for me. It gave me diff feelings in every song and I just know that no one can deliver those songs aside from them

Welcome to MY World. Nice change up. Spicy: Love it. Salty & sweet: Interesting and fun. Thirsty: Not my style.. I'm Unhappy: Not sure how I feel about this one. Now for something completely different, I can only find one video with reaction to 2NE1. Am I missing others on this iconic group?
the one who sang the first “welcome to my world” chorus was ningning who you said had the higher voice, the second chorus was winter, and then at the end it was ningning again singing “welcome to my world, only we own the city”
The way I literally searched your name earlier, wondering when you were going to post a new reaction since it had be 3ish months, and that’s when I saw the ones that were waiting to be posted

Naevis was actually singing a whole lot of welcome to my world haha, I didn't notice at first either.
Naevis is in fact a real artist on spotify. Will for sure be one of SMs AI (vocaloid) projects.

Even though they are unhappy, they put on a brave face and pretend to be happy.
(Even though SHINee is part of the second generation in Kpop, the members are the same age as third generation group members, so they sort of bridge that gap between second and third generation.)
aespa's story is just another one of SM's epic concepts and mysteries that we will have to wait and see where it takes us.
I think that they switch to "Im so happy " To Im unhappy " Because they are pretending to be happy (when they are not) to show other and bend in them easily.
(U know sometimes we pretending to be happy when we aren't actually feeling it)
@@ulkafuko5777 Yes, I agree. That's what I meant as well.
aeri is half japanese and half korean btw!!
Naevis IS actually singing, she sang the dararara art and the deeper this city's so pretty when your lights on part^^
unhappy is the best song I’ve heard in a while
I Love This Album of Aespa
And loved your reaction you always have nice reviews.
I so happy that you comeback 🫶🏼 If you want to see, IVE made a new comeback in April and is amazing, I hope you liked an you're better
Hey I'm gonna check they for sure
Yep, Ive and Newjeans released two amazing album/mini album this year. I'm also loving NMIXXs latest comeback
Of course they won’t ditch the whole Kwangya thing entirely but I don’t think there will be such a heavy emphasis on it anymore since it was mainly LSM’s baby/passion project
a solo AI idol?? I don't even know how to process this and what to think lol
Naevis actually sung the Da Ra Ra Di Das
The song that tell they're defeating black mamba was 'Girls' not Savage
We've come a long way from more simpler vocal synthesizers like Vocaloid.
this album shocked me bc it is such a big change up from their previous releases. they have another comeback planned for september i think, which by the looks of it is following a more similar concept to this
I’ve missed you so much Yetti!!! I’m glad you’re here with us again! I hope your life is going well! I wish you nothing but blessings! ❤
Thanks so much for reacting to aespa!
this fr a no-skip album
Welcome To My World is such an amazing song, the vocals, the strings, the production in general are all ethereal.
I recommend deep diving into Red Velvet, I think you've even seen them live in London last year! They honestly have the best discography in all of kpop imo
Your reaction are the best kpop reactions 💕
😢😢
im so glad to hear your interpretation about "I'm unhappy"
nobody tells about these messages which are implied in their mv and lyrics
the reason it says FT naevis is because she actually does sing for some parts , I think you should take a look at the lyric video to see the breakdown !!
this album is a masterpiece. savage is already an album that anyone should never missed but my world is on diff level for me. It gave me diff feelings in every song and I just know that no one can deliver those songs aside from them
Yay! It’s Yettis comeback too !!
Yayayaywy

OMG QUEEN YOU'RE BACK!!! cant wait to see your reaction to TWICE's subunit MISAMO, they have 2 MVs, "Marshmallow" and "Do Not Touch” and they're amazing!!! love you ❤
Like a few others have said, in WTMW naevis sings at the beginning, during the bridge, and at the end of the song. :)
I think when u react to the full songs u should do lyrics so u know who sings what.

Thank you, me too x
musically speaking, MYWORLD and Dark Blood by ENHYPEN are the albums that deserves to be nominated as AOTY.
You have to go to their concert
the video for thirsty is a hint for their new sitcom program show that's being released in a few days
Naevis did sing some parts
the one who sang the first “welcome to my world” chorus was ningning who you said had the higher voice, the second chorus was winter, and then at the end it was ningning again singing “welcome to my world, only we own the city”
Welcome back ❤
