It might work on a human or a dog, but birds don't "think" like we do, or dogs for that matter. I've rehabilitated SO many parrots that came from owners/homes like this... dude, seriously - get a dog. If your parrot isn't your best friend - the two of you don't belong together. Plus, parrots take a LOT more patience than most people have - living with just one bird is like raising twins all by yourself. (speaking from experience on that aspect too) But that's no fault of your own - parrots can be hard to live with... I've lived with as many as 17 at a time in my home (for several years), and along with being a single father for over 18 years during that time, it's one of the reasons I have little sanity left. lol I wish you guys the very best.

African Grey's are known to be the wise one that will think with their large brain(s) just like Apollo is doing now. Quietly she takes a nut realizing that the siblings can't crack it themselves. How amazing. My African Grey sits back like the wise one. She talks up a storm but never screams. It's kind of amazing. She lives in my bedroom and if I'm napping she has never woken me up. Not in 22 years. I do love these guys. Listen to Soleil's trilling, letting us know how she or he really feels. I think birds are so complex.
