That crowd was one of the best crowds ever , once again Russo is looking at beautiful picture and finding the ugly pixel, and of course his parrots Chris featherstone and EC3 are going to agree with him. As much as people want to get on cornette for being who he is , not liking modern wrestling and having racist undertones, at least he loved the show and the crowd , Russo sounds bitter
At times they would even ignore the in ring action to sing their songs. Their enthusiasm was cool but they were clearly more interested in getting themselves over. If you don't understand that then you're a mark.
@@SmoothSportsGaming calling other marks while talking about the product makes you a mark as well. That crowd made that show even if it did get annoying at times
I’m pretty sure the producers loved it. “Get a shot of that group of people over there. Money!” I’m pretty sure TKO loved it. “Yeah, we’re doing this again next year” But, I’m sure it must have been hard to work as a wrestler since crowds aren’t that loud anymore and they didn’t care that much about faces and heels there in France.
Hi I was at Smackdown and Backlash in France (my first ever wrestling shows) and I get your point because sometimes I was worried about what you've talked about. Sometimes the crowd was more focused about "putting themselves over" rather than being focused on the action in the ring, especially with the "phenomenal" chants and the "Simplement deux" ("Only two") routine, I agree. But the point is : France received the chance to host a PPV, their very first one. Wrestlers loved what we did in previous live event in the past years so it was our opportunity to prove we love wrestling and we deserved to host more shows. So we went loud. Yes sometimes we went "too far" with the chants probably because we were more in a "let's have a good time" mood rather than a "listen to every word they said" mood. And I understand that as a booker, you could be annoyed by this Vince. But the more important thing is : we were never quiet. We were reacting for everything, every wrestler, even the referee and the announcer because we were thankful they were there. We never intended to be disrespectful towards anyone,. And WWE and most fans loved it because it's not that often nowadays that a crowd is so lively and so invested in every move. I think for someone who worked for the company during the Attitude Era with energetic and passionated crowds every week, you can at least appreciate that Vince ;)
@@Literal_Sense I get that for sure but the breaking out into songs and chants every 2 minutes is stupid af and annoying.. anyone who liked it or thinks it was ok is completely lost or just brainless

Did the crowd get a bit much during the title match? Sure. But the French crowd was amazing and elevated a B-Level PPV. Silence would have been worse IMHO.
@RahulSambaragi Russo wasn’t speaking the truth. While yes the crowd did get annoying at times, that crowd is what made that show better than it was supposed to be . Even Jim cornette liked it
That crowd during the ppv was beyond annoying....i understand cheering but for every second of a 3 hour ppv and 2 hr smackdown is overboard...and the singing of the theme songs was even worse they new the words of the chorus and literally mumbled the rest
Vince no offense but we know you never cared about pro wrestling so you're not in a position to be complaining about how an audience should or should not react and the fact that they got a crowd to react is better than the damn silent during the TV tapings of raw and Smackdown when there's no reaction sometimes from the crowd
One days it’s the crowd is so dead, and next day it’s the crowd we’re too wild. You can’t win lol, the crowd was different and energetic, get over it it was only for a week
I liked the crowd BUT almost all of the PLE I was distracted. England works well. They will listen and pay attention to the match but still have their moments.
I agree 1000 percent with russo on this one. Yes they pay hard earned money to enjoy themselves but at the same time it is disrespectful for the talent trying to perform and do their jobs. Especially when they trying to cut a promo. Its almost as if they didnt even care wat was going on. I agree i was very annoying at first but as the show kept going it wasnt that bad i still watched and enjoyed the show and the ple. But yea i def agree with russo it was very disrespectful for the talent.
I think EC3 take is a damn good one. If it is a once a year thing book based on that crowd, if it keeps happenening the n that would be annoying as a talent.

You are clueless mate and u have no idea what u are talking about lol. No one cares what u think and u see as ignorant as Russo 😂😂😂. Soccer is the greatest sport in the world. Your nba doesn’t even draw more than 4m views
I dunno, pay per views ( or P.L.Es) are not the places for 10 or 15 minute promos! 5 minutes, tops! I was tempted to walk out of Wrestlemania 3 because the Hulk Hogan/Andre recap was too freaking LONG! The rule for any live event is "keep the audience engaged"!
Finally someone tellig the truth about this crowd. That backlash crowd was the worst. I almost had to mute my TV. But i actually wanted to hear other things. It was unbearable.
As a performance arts person, this is something that bugs me to hell in pro wrestling. Most of this activity is not tolerated in any other form. There has to be some level of respect to the performance. You are a live crowd, you can play along, you shouldn't try to interject or disrupt the performance. Maybe it's the whole "pretend sport" thing that makes them entitled to do so. But i mean there's still sports elements in other things that don't attract such behavior.
I have to listen to that constant chanting anything during soccer games, I don't want to hear it in wrestling matches. Also, "woahs" during entrances annoy me as well.
People pay their tickets. They give money to WWE. NO AUDIENCE, NO WWE. The crowd can do whatever they want in the stands...It's not about respect or disrespect. It's about money. They pay, they decide. And that's the bottom line!
If you hated the crowd, then I’m sorry. That was the best crowd I’ve heard at a show in a long time. They were so into it. Sorry but Russo has no clue what he’s talking about. The crowd elevated an average show to be one that was enjoyable. It’s fun to hear people into a show from start to finish. Truthfully a lot of crowds here need to take notes on how to have fun at a show.
It was a GREAT crowd, but the constant chanting like they were at a soccer game got annoying after a while. You're sitting there thinking "Man, shut up!" I don't need to hear that for three straight hours.
This criticism is stupid. Its a French crowd that probably doesn't even understood English. They are there for the action. It was a sellout. They loved the show. Success
I've been saying this for years. These crowds are off the charts obnoxious now, ESPECIALLY in European countries. They think they have the right to RUIN the shows for everyone else watching. I watched this whole show on mute because I knew it was going to be like this. And HHH will continue bragging about how they're "hotter than ever" and encouraging this behavior. The two major companies are trading places now. The AEW crowds aren't nearly this obnoxious, whereas WWE is encouraging the fans to be like this. Especially on NXT. Can't stand it anymore. HHH is promoting all of the worst things about wrestling. I never thought this day would come but I actually prefer AEW to WWE now. WWE is so far up their own *** right now that it hurts.
Aew is not like this anymore cos it’s a dead company with dwelling attendances while the wwe is hot. How dare u tell people how to chant? You’re just a keyboard warriors like Russo.
@@cashmontoks WWE ain't hot, but it's nice that you believe HHH's lies. I can express my opinion if I want, like Russo can, who made more money in wrestling than you will ever see in your life.
I see this as a glass half full. You want fan excitement. You want them to have fun and come back regardless of the story. You want crowds to be loud. That way the next place has a standard, and you don't want to be the rip crowd. Now for mania you can work around that. No way that crowd can handle mania and keep that same level of excitement. But I'll take the good of an exciting crowd, yes to American crowds it might be too much but to them it is normal. But you don't get that same level of energy every week. NO matter if fans want to replicate it in the net town. They won't be able to, because it's not normal for them. They can see wwe live in a couple of months if they miss that show. Now the DOM effect. When crowds start having fun board they are saying something to management. They are taking a under-name talent and giving them the star treatment, just with BOOs. Like Dom you give them more and hope he grows and learns to handle it naturally and feeds off it. At least they aren't chanting CM punk like Chicago. It's not what the crowd is doing, but why are they doing it that's important. If the office learns that they can make money off it. If they fight the crowds they will lose money. That simple. No offense Vince but if im booking and a writer comes up to me and says this is bullcrap. The crowd is ruining my script. Im saying, screw your script tonight we are having fun. We will get back on the script next week. Now shut up because i cant hear you over the crowd. Im going to go with excitement = money in a place used to having loud and vocal crowds. Im also making a note. Next time we come to france, less dialog and more wrestling. So next time we understand what the fans will bring and we will cater to that crowd. I said the same thing about reigns title run. Reigns deserves to be the champion. He has earned a lighter schedule. But sadly, fans don't want that. Fans want a champion who is going to be coming to town often that they can look forward to seeing. Imagine watching the new John Wick movie and John is only in it at the closing act. I see what you all are going for and i understand your views and points. Many legitimate gripes. But i think WWE needed that crowd and they delivered. I'm just a fan. But the fans really made an average PPV big-time. They made it feel like a mania event. There is money to be made there. If im AEW im looking at how much did it cost to put that show on there? That's a market we need to book this year. I was a fan of the old wrestling. You know what they did in the 70s if the crowd did something the wrestlers didnt like? They did nothing at all. Headlock for 10 mins, armbar on the mat for 10 mins until you stop doing or saying it.
Positives: Orton theme song Making the matches more exciting than typical. Uso entrance. Negatives: The stupid 2 count singing. The idiotic dancing. The Phenomenal singing. Ha.

Cornette is a hack. Not racist though. He loves Bobby Lashley.
At times they would even ignore the in ring action to sing their songs. Their enthusiasm was cool but they were clearly more interested in getting themselves over. If you don't understand that then you're a mark.
@@SmoothSportsGaming This has been a problem for years and it's only getting worse, and HHH is promoting it.
@@SmoothSportsGaming Nothing is as important to wrestling marks as wrestling marks.
@@SmoothSportsGaming calling other marks while talking about the product makes you a mark as well. That crowd made that show even if it did get annoying at times
I thought the crowd was amazing and it made backlash better.
I’m pretty sure the producers loved it. “Get a shot of that group of people over there. Money!”
I’m pretty sure TKO loved it. “Yeah, we’re doing this again next year”
But, I’m sure it must have been hard to work as a wrestler since crowds aren’t that loud anymore and they didn’t care that much about faces and heels there in France.
What happened to EC3's face, a kick in the ass?
Oh my goodness. How dare the audience have some fun on a night out. This is a terrible take.
No it was annoying and stupid,if I was out there wrestling I'd be pissed
@@Roland-v4xThat crowd rarely gets a WWE show. They’re just having fun.
@@Literal_Sense I get that for sure but the breaking out into songs and chants every 2 minutes is stupid af and annoying.. anyone who liked it or thinks it was ok is completely lost or just brainless

For real the French crowd were very ingnorant and disrespectful they were rooting like a soccer game 😂😂😂you nail it vince
''you nail it vince'' 🤓
7:50 Its difficult. Yes you want the large crowd for tickets, tv, matches. But it can go against you because they right chant the whole show or hijack. Why I think I like Japan because theyre respectful but will still pop when they need to or get on board with storytelling in ring.
Did the crowd get a bit much during the title match? Sure. But the French crowd was amazing and elevated a B-Level PPV. Silence would have been worse IMHO.
I thought I was the only one that got thrown off by the crowd.
This is exactly what I felt. Tq russo for speaking out the truth
@RahulSambaragi Russo wasn’t speaking the truth. While yes the crowd did get annoying at times, that crowd is what made that show better than it was supposed to be . Even Jim cornette liked it
@@danielsims916 I am not watching the show to see the sheep in the arena bleat. The stupid crowd should ' know their role and shut their mouths '
I totally loved that crowd…made it so much more energetic
That crowd during the ppv was beyond annoying....i understand cheering but for every second of a 3 hour ppv and 2 hr smackdown is overboard...and the singing of the theme songs was even worse they new the words of the chorus and literally mumbled the rest
I miss the empty arena era.
lmao no wonder wrestling is dying with people like you lol
I can't stand it. It's so annoying. I literally turn off the event when the crowd starts up with all of that everytime.
They paid the money.
Doesn’t mean you get to disrespect the talent
Doesn't give them the right to do whatever they want and RUIN the show for everyone else. Grow up.
@@James-if3kc yes it does. Grow up snowflake. They didn't ruin the show.
@jonesbones2857 It's a wrestling event, not a piano concert.
so
I agree 1000 percent with russo on this one.
Good take Russo. I actually agree with you
Liv Morgan's promos > Russo wearing a football helmet in a cage match
To anyone form Europe reading this .. Nobody in the United States give a F about Soccer. We actually are disgusted with how soft and average most of the players look and act.
Nobody in Europe gives a F what Americans think.
Exactly. And the faking injuries all the time and crying like a b!tch. No thank you.
You are clueless mate and u have no idea what u are talking about lol. No one cares what u think and u see as ignorant as Russo 😂😂😂. Soccer is the greatest sport in the world. Your nba doesn’t even draw more than 4m views
As opposed to fat, unfit baseball players?
I dunno, pay per views ( or P.L.Es) are not the places for 10 or 15 minute promos! 5 minutes, tops! I was tempted to walk out of Wrestlemania 3 because the Hulk Hogan/Andre recap was too freaking LONG! The rule for any live event is "keep the audience engaged"!
U can’t tell the crowd how to act
i agree russo bro
It was annoying As fuck
I thought the crowd was awesome they just appreciated the experience not to mention they paid their hard earned money so they have that right 🤷♂️
None of their money is "hrad earned". Most of them are probably getting disability checks or bilking the government in some other way.
It was a GREAT crowd, but the constant chanting like they were at a soccer game got annoying after a while. You're sitting there thinking "Man, shut up!" I don't need to hear that for three straight hours.
Atleast there was an atmospher, rather listen to that than these guys moaning all the time
I bet you like listening to guys moaning...
i didn't like the crowd in fracnce
EC3 always looks like he is annoyed lol
That’s like you guys like when they had no crowd in PC or some shitty ThunderDome lol
The crowd is sedated with poison.
Mark my words... Paid fan excitement will be a thing
They were beyond annoying. Super marks making themselves “the show”. Pathetic.
