The NF-1 is not multitimbral, so all of the voices will have the same settings, but it should be possible to trigger 8 notes with 8 monophonic sequencer tracks on the Octatrack by setting every track to the same midi channel.
I remember seeing a tradeshow video of this synth, and the knobs looked absolutely atrociously built. Are they still flimsy as heck, or was that just the demonstration version? Very cool sound though. It has a weird hallow quality, but chunky warmth, that reminds me of 80s/early-90s digital synths. The interface seems intuitive too, once you get over the chaotic look.
in the comment section of the sonicstate review, modor addressed this complaint. I forget what they said. probably something about these pots costing less ;) jk
They don't feel like the most heavy and stable pots ever, but they didn't particularly stand out as cheap or flimsy. Sort of middle-ground and better than lots. Once you put your hands on this large beastly synth with a great UI, that sort of thing isn't relevant because it's such a joy.
Perfect Circuit Audio It's only relevant to me if it is because the pots themselves are poorly surface-mounted; I don't like spending wads of cash on a synth that is poorly constructed. If it is just the plastic knobs themselves, then I could not care less. I'm a big fan of analog synths, but I absolutely love when engineers take advantage of new technology to do interesting and new things as well. There is no doubt that they've made something very cool here, especially if you're looking to stand out from the crowd (I am). Are the knobs surface-mount, or attached to the chassis? Turm Ulus Yeah I realized that the sonicstate review is where I first noticed the knobs wobbling, and I rewatched that review too. I'll have to go see what the Modor people said, in response. Thanks for the replies, guys!
Seems like it has the same sound no matter how you tweek..sounds like a Vocoder type of synth. can i get a nice analog sound from it? like Moog type? I like the Fron't panel and color and would consider but not impressed with sounds...
The layout is not at all chaotic. Like every other synth ever made, it has an oscillator section, LFO, filter, ADSR and Mixer/FX. Don't see a problem, sorry.
As Markus touched on, it's laid out intuitively in blocks (and signal flow) like most synths. When you're actually standing in front of this big box of knobs - it feels really empowering. With that said, we play with all kinds of different synths every day, so it's understandable that we may have some different thoughts on this type of thing. Still, it will probably sink in nicely for you if you played with one in person. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Sounds beautiful. Retro yet futuristic.
Mmhmm!
WOW that oscillator section is like having multiple polyphonic Braids! Verrrry interesting!
It's such a unique synth. Loving it.
Seems to be worth the money. Sounds really unique
It's pretty sweet and definitely a unique synth!
Mine arrives on Weds! Along with the Dreadbox Erebus! Super siked thanks to Trevor at perfect Curcuit for all his help!
Cool, enjoy!!
Where is it made?
Belgium
Hello, is it possible to separate the 8 voices into 8 tracks? with the octatrack or that would be just one track being precessed. Kind Regards

MODOR!
Mold the door!
From Russia with LOVE
:D
Would you suggest this over an Arturia MatrixBrute?
those are 2 very different synths, hard to compare, also the matrixbrute isn't out yet
Garrett Sullivan nah
It's not as big but it's much more portable.

I can't imagine a layout being more chaotic.
