My oxblood TVL - which I have named “Vlad” - it’s Gorgeous and sings like no one. Thanks for bringing his father and one of my favorite tone guitar players, I love his playing!
Going to see Janes Addiction on Sunday! I was super bummed to hear that Dave was out...until I heard Troy was filling in! This is one of the best CG videos you've put out!
Awesome! Just saw Jane's last Friday in St Paul with the Pumpkins. We took our daughter for a 14th birthday surprise present. Shes a huge Pumpkins fan! Troy was killer!
Troy is absolutely fantastic as a musician and person in general.. and since he’s a vampire, it warms my soul that he’ll be making wonderful music throughout the rest of my life 🥰
That was awesome!! Saw them in DC Jane’s killed. Navarro was my favorite guitar player in high school and I was worried about the change but I have to say he killed it!!
That was a lot of fun to watch. Thanks for hanging out with Troy. I know it was a slog. Lol Seriously, though. He's killer. Baxter's killer. Guitars are killer. I'm gonna go play now.
here here Baxter, much more than just a tall dark handsome mystical sideman with a gun for hire reputation,...he seamlessly floats between epic musical collaborations making crucial contributions 🤘 thanks troy
That was pretty cool to have Troy there for the video. I enjoyed that almost as much as you must have actually doing the video. Jane's Addiction is my all-time favorite band and I wish Troy all the best in the gig. He has massive shoes to fill there. Not because he's necessarily inferior to Dave but because Dave Navarro is so integral in the context of Jane's Addiction. Troy accounts for himself very well thank you. If Dave is not there, I can't think of anyone better to have than Troy. Also, I got goosebumps seeing the old live footage from "Jane's 1.0". I went to those shows and I remember how amazing they were. I'm over the moon to hear someone speak of them as reverentialy as I think of them. Thanks guys. I'm going to go listen to Nothing's Shocking now. Cheers!
Extremely inspiring episode and yeah I saw Troy play with The Damned in LA at Cruel World and he had the best guitar tone regardless of The Church playing.
I heard about Echopark when I stumbled upon an article about Gabriel buying some sinker pine out of Muskegon Lake. I live in Muskegon and grew up fishing the lake and river system. So now when I'm out fishing I'm constantly wondering if there's any sinker pine below me hiding in the depths waiting to be uncovered!
@@tone1798 Oh yeah I'm sure there is. They dredge the south side of the lake so big ships can get in there. I believe that's how the wood Echopark bought was found. The rest of the lake and the Muskegon river is still probably full of sinker pine buried in the muck.
Troy is a 10 as a guitarist and has eclipsed Josh's claim to most handsome Queen *and* can play the fyuck out of that slide. I wouldn't be surprised if every guitar driven band on the planet wants him to play with them.
I know people usually get upset when you get off-topic, but off-topic troy might be the most on-topic to my interests of anything you've ever shown lmao.
Queens of the Stone Age have the one unique quality shared by all successful bands: a truly original sound. This is a business where imitation is the least successful form of flattery. London Choirboys, for example, were much like the Rolling Stones only much less so. Jellyfish were 'better than the Beatles' but died a quick death in relative obscurity with zero record sales. Well, they did sell two discs...both to me! But unique sounding acts...like the Chili Peppers, like Smash Mouth, like the Smashing Pumpkins, they can go on and on...
whooooooa, wait, the ctv logo, maaaaan, you know how people are, knowing them they maybe might sue you unless you ran it by them already @casinoguitar ,OOOOH,ok i justs edit this comment now, oooooh ok i watch a little more & you saying about your self working @ @mtv
We need more rockstars like Troy! Refreshingly chill.
He’s fucking awesome @troyvanleeuwen
All of the QOTSA guys seem like they could individually be elected "Coolest Guy in Rock" but together as a band they're the Coolest Band in Rock
He’s a very handsome and talented artist!!! Not even to mention he’s the best dressed and probably one of the hardest working men in the business!!!
Troy is so good you don’t even notice he is there until you see the suit and dancing
I love me some TVL. Such an underrated guitar player.
Troy is one of the nicest guys and most talented musicians!
My oxblood TVL - which I have named “Vlad” - it’s Gorgeous and sings like no one. Thanks for bringing his father and one of my favorite tone guitar players, I love his playing!
Love Troy,Failure,Apc,Chelsea Wolfe.🤘 Awesome!!!
I was at the Detroit show last week. Troy’s tone was great and really came through the mix throughout the arena.
god yeah his tone was amazing
Troy is the best! I'm a huge Queens, A perfect Circle and Failure fan, amazing video!
Yess! Troy! We have less and less guitar heroes, and this is one!
This was an awesome little conversation! Thanks for making this video.
So cool that you got to meet and interview TVL. Such a fan!
One of those interviews where the person who's asking just talks about himself. Troy dealed very well and in a classie way.

Hung out with him in 2015 after a Failure show. Nicest dude ever.
Gotta love Troy. Such a cool dude.
Troy is absolutely fantastic as a musician and person in general.. and since he’s a vampire, it warms my soul that he’ll be making wonderful music throughout the rest of my life 🥰
Love how Troy wiped his hand on his jeans after the handshake at the end😂 Pretty much says all😅
That was awesome!! Saw them in DC Jane’s killed. Navarro was my favorite guitar player in high school and I was worried about the change but I have to say he killed it!!
Gabriel's guitars are fabulous - but indeed my bank account is not ready for them yet! ;)
Good morning! Great show. Keep the music playing…✨

Perfect Circle! Queens of the Stone Age . Both rule!☠️☠️☠️🖖🏻
Absolutely the Best!!!
Baxter that was fucking great! You are an underrated interviewer
great interview , you don't need to be a fan to totally enjoy this !!
I would give this multiple "thumbs up" if I could.
Great post!! I'll see Troy on Friday in Vancouver...looking forward to it.

I'm blown away! Thank you for this video! This was very entertaining.
Greatest interview ever.
Loved the interview. You guys dress nice.
This was so awesome. Thank you for posting it. More like this PLEASE.
Extremely inspiring episode and yeah I saw Troy play with The Damned in LA at Cruel World and he had the best guitar tone regardless of The Church playing.
Nice interview, just was hoping you'd talk about his Signature Jazzmaster, I just discovered it and hope to try one soon.
this is the player everyone wished was in their band!
Love this interview. Thank you!! Please more Troy and Queens!
I didn't know he had his own signature Jazzmaster. I'm getting one

That’s so kool! There has be some lurking around? Those planks of wood looked amazing!

I saw A Perfect Circle in 2000 at an outdoor festival in the summer in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan with headliners The Smashing Pumpkins
Troy seems super humble and chill…
Really enjoyed his spin on Damned songs , thought he did a great job! 👏
most excellent!
Such a cool guy!
What a cool cat he is!
What a dope fella
Its weird nothing is mentioned of Failure, where he started.
I got his Jazzmaster. It rules.

I love seeing others fanboy out! I would do the same! It's good to have heroes!
I know people usually get upset when you get off-topic, but off-topic troy might be the most on-topic to my interests of anything you've ever shown lmao.
Troy is a class act
What a fantastic interview and hilarious 🐬 ❤🎸(is it just me, he looks and sounds like Alec Baldwin)
My cousin Mike was born in Bellflower too.
Troy is a god
Legend👍
Goodmorning from Chicago
Good morning everyone
Hometown Sacramento here!
Oh, I run...my fingers up and down the fretboard. (rim shot)
Hey it’s the Casino Queens! 🤘
Nice guy😊
7:35 🤨
THE ARMED get a shout out. THE GREATEST BAND IN THE WORLD.
Baxter is like a classic dry-drunk.
So,who is the cool guy talking to Troy? I know why you were both wearing jackets, too much coolness for one room.

Is it me or does Troy remind anyone of Bill Paxton? That just a weird thought that poped in my brain.
Troy is a musicians musician bar non
🇧🇷👇✌️
