So it depends from wich country you got your amex from I terms of guest entrance with your Platinum. Usa has the least amount of guest per Card because of the high demand of Amex in the usa ,while Germany and Japan have the highest of 2-3 free guest per visit.
I live in the DC area and Dulles is pretty awkward when it comes to one lounge covering all various terminals. But as a local passenger experience at the Capitol one lounge is pretty great. It’s hard to find if you are coming from the terminals, but if you’re arriving at the airport you just go through clear or precheck and the lounge is right there. The buses to the D terminals are right beside it and tram is close as well. My only complaint is they keep it too warm. I’ve gone to the centurion lounge at SFO a ton of times and I’ve gotta say, Capitol One is a better experience overall. The centurion lounge is always super crowded.
Thanks for the comment & sharing your experience! We also had a lot of trouble finding the Capital One Lounge at IAD when we were there (this was before we had Clear & Pre-Check), but once we got there, we had a great experience.
Good info, I was unaware that C1 had a lounge. Though I would argue Priority Pass lounge access is now worthless for some like myself, as they removed their partnership with Alaska and on the US west coast and Midwest have next to no lounges. They seem to be focused on international.
I have a Venture X and the Platinum but have yet to fly through an airport with a C1 lounge (since they've been open), so by default Centurion is my fav? The real winner has been the Chase Sapphire Lounges (but not the Sapphire Terrace in Austin - that's a joke of a lounge).
Will have to say the CP1 Lounge at DFW is always packed. And it's $65 for only 3 hours, not a day pass. I'm new so learning it was limited was a bummer.
CP1 Lounges are way better than Centurion. It is way less crowded! Also, CP1 has food/drinks you can take to-go. Cost or the card is half of Amex Plat.
I know authorized users are not free on AmEx but do they at least get lounge access or do you have to pay $50 for your wife even if she is an authorized user?
Leaving LHR at 11am a month ago and the wait was 20 minutes to get into the Centurion. It felt like it was between lunch and breakfast service and didn’t look anything like your visit. But AmEx still wins for us!
Thanks for sharing. We have definitely learned that timing and crowds can affect the overall lounge experience. But can’t beat getting in for free with your Amex card!
Thanks for your great content. I love watching your videos as I am new to this arena and learning tons. Which lounges can you use with the Chase Sapphire card? Is there a list somewhere that I can access to see this information?
Great question! It depends on which Chase Sapphire card you have. The Chase Sapphire Preferred, which is the less expensive option, does not currently come with any kind of lounge access. The Chase Sapphire Reserve, however, does come with access to different lounge networks like Priority Pass and the small network of Chase Sapphire Lounges as well as a few others. Hope this helps!
Just visited both lounges in Denver and Capital One lounge was better, specially their staff. Amex lounge in Denver was very crowded, no space to sit and people waiting in line at the desk.
Does your authorized user on the venture x card also get priority pass or just Capital One lounge access? I signed up for free priority pass as a card holder perk but can my husband as an authorized user sign up for it too?
*I misspoke, the Venture and Capital One Spark Miles cards will lose their lounge benefits at the end of 2024! Which lounges do you prefer?
IAD/D.C. isn't the flagship CapOne lounge, it's Dallas. Also both Dallas and Denver's lounges are significantly bigger and have way more amenities.

You’re not the only one that who got lost at IAD looking for the lounge and this is my primary airport😅
Haha glad to hear it wasn’t just me 😅
It’s right behind the precheck security entrance so it’s in a weird spot. I think they wanted somewhere that all the terminals could use.

Does anyone know when the Vegas capital one lounge is supposed to open?
Amazing video daily drop. Just wondering how did you make that cool map at the beginning of the video

Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
It's also incredibly easy to get the full value out of the credit as opposed to the Platinum.
does the employees in London expect a tip? tipping in US is insane

@@DailyDrop Yes, thank you for responding so quickly! Your help is much appreciated!
You’re welcome!
I can’t wait to visit the centurion lounge 💃
Woohoo 🎉 Which one will you be visiting?
Heathrow

Yes, your AUs also get free Priority Passes - just sign them up using their card numbers.
The first authorized user is free for the Morgan Stanley Amex Platinum, so my wife and I can both get into the Centurion lounge for free.
Should add a comparison of the Chase Sapphire Lounges to this.
That is definitely one that we would like to do in the future!
Keep those great videos! Still debating on getting Platinum or Venture X. This video made me opt for Platinum
Glad to hear that you are enjoying these videos! Both cards are great card options 👍
Not a fan of the platinum card - the perks just don’t seem too worth it
agreed, they are way too specific and hard to use
Totally get why you feel that way. It can differ from person to person if the benefits outweigh the annual fee!
