I remember going down to Barotse Province to watch the Royal Barge carry the Paramount Chief to higher ground at the start of the wet season. That was in the mid '60's and I don't recall the bridge being there.
In Rainy season it's OK, but still hot in Mongu,🥵 been there a couple of times, very nice and beautiful sunsets. Today that road for the plains still smooth.. Just that road 😁
Beautiful and graceful Barotse Flood plains. This region of Barotseland is now PEACEFULLY and DIPLOMATICALLY pursuing Self-determination from Zambia after the latter repeatedly failed to honor the 1964 pre-independence treaty that joined Barotseland within Zambia under ‘internal’ political autonomy. As such, Barotseland declared independence from Zambia in 2012. The Barotseland Agreement of 1964 was grossly abrogated unilaterally by the Zambian government in 1969.
This is not the time to halt but to increase the campaign to have the Barotse Plains listed as UNESCO World Heritage site. The New Dawn & the Barotse leadership should work hand in hand & see to it that the aspirations of the campaign gets fulfilled.

I hope the road stays fine for a long time! Thanks for your comment!
Здорово! Дорога выглядит фантастично в таком окружении, как будто построена давно покинувшей эти места цивилизацией
Ну так и есть. Местные жители явно не могли такое построить! 😂
С каждым новым роликом всё выше и выше поднимается коптер)))
MY BIRTH HOMELAND... THANKS JACARANDA,
