Beautifully done. I love the natural woods. Natural wood is so beautiful in and of itself it's amazing with grains and so on each piece individual. I also like some painted furniture if it is pristine. I cannot handle seeing a brush stroke in any item of furniture. LOL I know, it's just me but I love a pure clean finish! You've done a beautiful job on this item.............I enjoy your sharing the technique's. Blessings
$1600 ? 😳 That's what I paid for my full bedroom suit. Lol But seriously, do people normally pay that much for a used dresser? Is it your location? That seems crazy to me.
This looks awesome Lisa! That gel stain definitely gave it a fresh look and I agree that the Matt finish looks great on this piece! Im sure that’s going to sell in no time at all 😍👏🤩
Gorgeous ❤ I love learning about the different products. I love using shellac based products. Especially primer. I’ve found that it cleans up good with acetone (nail polish remover)
@ivylaneinteriors it did better than just tricking the eye. It blended so seamlessly that you weren't able to even see where the patches were. Magical ♡♡
I think this gentle restoration helps prolong the finish and protects it from further damage. I love this style. We’ll see if someone else loves it too!
Love! I have a Henrendon server to redo…the finish is cracking & I’m wondering if this method would work or do I need to scrape & start over? I keep putting it at the back of my project list. lol. I just love this style. The flat warm finish is perfect! Excellent job! 🦋
What a beautiful piece! I love the matte/satin finish on it. I’m a newer follower and I thoroughly enjoy your videos. They’re so relaxing and informative, so thank you for sharing! I am interested I hearing about how your marketing and selling experience. You mentioned Etsy in this video, what’s that like? Do you only sell online or do you have a booth somewhere? If you’re willing to share. No biggie if you’d rather not. Thanks!
Thank you and welcome! I mainly sell through my FB business page, FB marketplace and buy/sell groups. If I have a high end piece, I list it on Etsy. I’ve only sold 4 pieces so far, but I’ve had great experiences. I’m working on an Etsy video because people have so many questions 😊
Looks so great! May I ask what you say when you list? Do you say what you've done, or do you just list a beautiful dresser? Nevermind, I was able to find your shop on Etsy.😊
Looks great, I am thinking of doing three pieces of my furniture that would look better darker ….. just wondering if I can pull it off as I’ve never done anything like it before
Hmm, that’s a tough one. You would have to remove the white marks first. One method is a cloth over of the stain and a dry iron on low heat. That should release the moisture. If it doesn’t work then a full refinish would be required. A gentle restoration is more for pieces with a dull finish.
What a timeless beauty! I love General Finishes stains! They are top notch! You kept the authentic beauty! Awesome job👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I love General Finishes products! Thanks Cassandra! 🫶

Thank you! I feel the same way. That’s why I switched to a sprayer, so smooth 🤩
I love original furniture, this piece is beautiful! 😊
Me too! Thanks! 😊
So pretty! I really like the matte finish, too.
I think it just makes it look a little more high end. Thanks Charlene! 😊
I own this piece. This style is superb in dark finish. Henredons Scene I from 1980s.
It’s a great line and fabulous quality 🤩🙌🏼
So well done! Given the high price you paid for it, I will ne watching to see what you are able to sell it for 😊
Right?! I listed it for $1600. We'll see.

Sorry, I'm just seeing this. I'm in Tulsa, but this sold on Etsy.
Love the matte finish.
Me too! Thanks Heidi!
Tastefully done and authentic warm brown. Classic and timeless. ❤
I agree! Thanks Cynthia!
Great result!
Thank you! I thought so too! 😊

Thank you! I've never tried acetone to clean up. Ammonia or denatured alcohol seem to work for me.
I spilled a whole can of shellac primer on my kitchen vinyl floor not long ago. 😮 I was able to clean it up with a lot of nail polish remover 😅
This turned out beautiful. Your veneer touch ups turned out perfect, you can't even tell. Great video, and gorgeous work😊😊
Thanks Michelle! It's amazing once all the layers are on and then the topcoat it just all blends together.
@ivylaneinteriors it did better than just tricking the eye. It blended so seamlessly that you weren't able to even see where the patches were. Magical ♡♡
Such a beautiful piece of furniture!!! You made it Look so refreshed. Love it😍
Thanks Kim!

With crackling, you would have to scrape it all off and redo it. If it just on the top though you could tape it off and just do the top. 🤷♀️

Yes, I debated on what to say. I've seen people say gently restored to allow the original finish to shine.
Hermoso!!!
Thanks so much!! 🤩🙌🏼

It's a fairly beginner friendly technique. General Finishes also has videos on how to do it.
That was a great price.
Indeed, it was! 😊
Love your work… for top coat, check out Gemini waterborne clear lacquer
I will check it out. Thanks! 🙌🏼
Can you do a gentle restoration on a tabletop with white water marks?
Hmm, that’s a tough one. You would have to remove the white marks first. One method is a cloth over of the stain and a dry iron on low heat. That should release the moisture. If it doesn’t work then a full refinish would be required. A gentle restoration is more for pieces with a dull finish.
