I completely agree with you regarding BTS being true to their native tongue which is why when I see comments where someone says “BTS should do more songs in English” I think they should instead be saying, “I should learn Korean”. I understand some people are saying this because they want BTS to be played more on English speaking radioand such, but In my opinion it’s the radio stations that are in error and BTS should stay true to themselves.
Yes, this also grates on me. Why should they do English albums? We still understand their message without being fluent in Korean. Also, it really grinds my gears when they do their Vlives and so many comments demand they "speak English". No, you learn Korean or wait for the subs. I know for many BTS got them interested in Korean culture and language, but for me it was the opposite. I've always been interested in Asian culture (especially the food, yum), so it was actually this interest that introduced me to BTS. I actually did not start with their music, it was their varieties shows that introduced me to them, and I fell for their personalities, then fell for their music and message they send out. It was only since being ARMY did I decide to learn Korean. It's such a beautiful language. Also, I'd like to be able to watch Run BTS without one eye on what they're doing and one eye on the subs, lol.
I think one of the amazing things about BTS is the way they support one another. Unlike most previous “boy bands” that end up breaking apart because they each want to go their own way, and end up with jealousy or differing styles interfering with the group dynamic, BTS does great with teamwork. Like their albums for example: MOTS-7; they had numerous group songs of course but aLso included solo songs for each member, plus rap line and vocal line songs, and subunits (ex: “friends”-jimin & v or “respect”-rm & suga). Plus they support mixtapes from the rappers or the upcoming mixtapes from v or jk. They openly encourage each other to showcase their own sounds. Watching them sing along or cheer loudly from backstage when one members is performing solo is so amazing! Btw I think you have done amazing considering how short of a time you’ve been following them 💜💜
I do agree with u. This aspect is I think the most important thing of their success. They all could be a very talented artist but to be able staying together this long will be impossible without the bond that they have n what would it be BTS without one of their member 💜 They are great individually, and amazing together

i study business and in a corporation, there's this thing called "corporate social responsibility". while some companies just simply do charity works and such, there are other companies that just feel obligated to do charity works for publicity. so you're not wrong in that. and i just wanna point out that bts does donations to charities that they believe in, such as jimin's scholarship program for unprivileged children who wants to pursue dance, namjoon donating books to public libraries and etc. it's so inspiring to see.

The achievements that BTS and Army have accomplished are just amazing. I’m not just talking music and performance wise. The BTS brand as a whole just makes them so much more bigger than any artist that I can think of. Obviously there has been and still are great artist out there but looking at every aspect BTS, in my opinion, is the GOAT and I’m so so proud to be Army 💜💜
you're very right about japan that as a society Japanese people don't like any sort of confrontation thus they avoid conflicts. But korea i'd say is very opposite to this because lots of people don't have any issue with confrontation. although there IS a power dynamic in korea with age and social status hierarchy so younger people or people in less power are expected to be less confrontational while people in more power are more confrontational.

The fact that BigHit was a small company is actually a pretty big deal. Prior to BTS, the kpop industry was completely dominated by three specific companies referred to as the "big 3", and it was generally expected that you had little chance for success if you weren't from one of those companies. BTS was the first group *not* from a big 3 company to ever win a grand prize at an awards show. That was also, unfortunately, one of the reasons they were the target of so much hate earlier in their careers.

If I may answer your first question, Korean are more bold and straightforward than Japanese I can say. Culturally there are many similarities however Korean are much more expressive, dare to face with conflict if they think it’s necessary, passionate, enthusiastic while Japanses are more holding back emotions to avoid uneasy of others, respect others, stay humble and quite. One of a good stereo type comparison which I think make sense somehow is Korean are like Italian or Irish and Japanses are like English or Germany. FYI, I am Korean who has many friends all over the world including Japanese. ;-)
Hey, thank you for your comment. I've lived in Japan for about two years so I think I have a good grasp of Japanese culture and mentality, but I had no idea if it was similar to Korea or not, so thanks for explaining. I've never visited Korea, but would love to go at some point. I hate seeing people being "charitable" by handing out sandwiches on the street, while filming themselves doing it, and humiliating the recipients who have no choice but to smile and show gratitude on camera. I like that BTS publicize donations only when it's a cause that needs attention. And the fact that they often make annual donations on their own birthdays has inspired fans to celebrate the members' birthdays with acts of charity. This is how we change the world.
It's funny, cuz BTS don't even publicize the donations, it's usually done by the organizations themselves. So even now, there's probably many we don't even know about because the organizations don't say anything about it and neither do the boys.

The comparison to the Beatles stems from the insane amount of really devoted fans they have, which no one has seen the likes of since the Beatles, when I was a young kid. Regarding the English language, though, I personally have quite a few Japanese friends who can speak English well or are interested in learning and love learning about and exploring other cultures. On your point about the small Japanese children, to be fair, most every nation or country indoctrinates their children from very young ages, to think THEIR country is the best in the world, or in some way to have unquestioning devotion and pride in their country. They put that nationalistic prideful thinking into young people because they know they need to do that while they're young, before they begin to grow up and realize all the faults of their nation of birth. I think it is done to make sure each government always has enough citizens who are programmed enough that they are willing to go to war and kill and or die so that their government can continue existing. (I myself don't believe in war for any reason really. I'd only harm another human being if it was to stop them from killing or trying to kill myself or someone else....but not just to help a government keep their hold on a nation's power and money, which is usually the real reason for all wars.)
Thank you for your videos. Would you react to J-HOPE'S "MAMA" Live performance (The one from 6 months ago)? It really shows that JHOPE was Initially supposed to be a vocalist of the group, but because V wanted to sing he became a rapper. And the song is also very emotional)

Thank you for your videos. Would you react to J-HOPE'S "MAMA" Live performance (The one from 6 months ago)? It really shows that JHOPE was Initially supposed to be a vocalist of the group, but because V wanted to sing he became a rapper. And the song is also very emotional)
