What a fabulous episode. Your passion for what you do shines through , and having been to the Isles of Scilly, I know what a magical place it is to visit .
Another great adventure, Ellie. Glad you didn't get stuck in the sand! 😊 Please do follow-up and let us know what that metal artifact turns out to be that Nicola found...
Love seeing you and Nicola having so much fun ❤️ in the Mud. Great video informative and wishing you and all the mudlarks and detectionionist magnet fishing personality ,s 👍 A very very Happy New Year ❤❤❤
Oooooh! Beads! I am a bead nut,I own over 10,000 beads, because I am a friend of a bead merchant. Those greenheart beads fall into the Cornaline D’Aleppo family of Venetian beads. Those finds are lovely. I will send pics of very old whiteheart ones,to be forwarded to you, they are gigantic, and the crazed red glass is supreme, dating back to late 18th century. The Lewis and Clark expedition brought mostly white and red beads. Many of those red ones were indeed greenheart and whiteheart. They failed to bring enough blue Venetian beads, and when they reached the northern Great Plains, the country of the Sky,they only had a relatively few blue ones. So,the Chiefs were given those. To this day,the big blue ones(often Dutch made) are called ‘Chiefs Beads’
A single bead can tell a story, history revealed. My single favorite bead is made of conus shell. It’s a story of money, destroyed by conquerors,then,re-sold to them,in glass form. The bead shall always speak.
Another amazing video. I always find your channel very interesting and informative. Keep up the good work and happy hunting 👍 by the way. It was great to meet you briefly at the Ninth region dig today.
Cool adventure Miss D! I won't tell you about the Ellie terracotta bead detector I've yet to copywrite 😂thanks for sharing. ps-sorry about the seagull on a hot chip comment 🥺
Beautiful sunsets and scenery and the sand there is amazing. I am pleased you did afind half a bead Ellie and I'd love to know more about the metal piece Nichola found please? You two must have more adventures together in the future. Have a Happy New Year.❤
Lovely video Ellie, on beaches look for channels (cuts) that are lower and heading out to the sea. The waves deposit the heavier stuff there. Love the gold nugget and your half bead. Jet Stream for planes, Gulf Stream for water. Happy New Year.
@@miss_detectorist You did, I went back to check. Easy mistake and I have heard it many times, I got it wrong myself and actually put it in writing. So embarrassing as I worked at Toronto Airport for 9 years before I retired. I was talking about weather travelling from North America to the UK.
A wonderful adventure made so much more interesting by great research. If you like shipwrecks then the Scilly Islands are the place to be and I'm sure we can look forward to more of your adventures there. By the way, what is the brand of jacket you wear with the big pockets-ideal for metal detecting ! Brilliant video, thank you so much for sharing your expeditions. Have a happy new year of adventures in 2025.👍
I have a jacket by Gander Gander a streetwear-meets-mountain fashion brand from Manchester. You can take the girl out of fashion…. (I used to work in fashion design 😂)
@@carolmay5168 it’s a nice idea but the beads are deposited along with other small grains of a similar size, so unfortunately there are no real short cuts!

@ thank you so much it looks a perfect jacket for outdoor 👍
You said you had to squat and walk. Would spectacle binoculars be of any help?
Probably but where’s the fun in that 😂🙌🏼
Cool☺
You should use a sifter.
