I love how the first broadcast starts with a merry but somewhat alarming tune announcing the start of the German invasion, as there is hope to achieve final victory. The second one however starts with an ominous, eerie, hopeless tune because the enemy has entered the capital and the war is practically impossible to win. Simply amazing.

just to clear things up - the second one was a regular radio callsing used in poland even in pre war period, the first one if i'm correct was also a Polskie Radio callsign - not sure about the details. I know for sure we (i'm from Poland) use the variation of the first melody to this day, and the "ominous" one, kinda fits pre war period - it was a time in poland of both quasi dictatorship, but also immense grow in fields of art and music, so that vibe would probably sit well with people back then. The recordings were actually real.
I might made some mistake here, and i'm sure better informed Polish viewer might correct whatever mistakes i've made (apart from butchering english).

Like fate of polish society in ww2. I recommend you animated film called "Genocide. Animated documentary movie" by Arkadiusz Olszewski
or you can watch original version in polish language
"Ludobójstwo. Genocide. (Eng It Fr Ger Pl subtitles)"

"Halo Halo? Tu Warszawa i wszystkie rozgłośnie polskiego radia, dziś rano o godzinie minus 5:40 oddziały niemieckie przekroczyły granicę polską łamiąc pakt o nieagresji, zbombardowano szereg miast, za chwilę usłyszą państwo komunikat specjalny. A więc wojna z dniem dzisiejszym wszelkie plany i zagadnienia zchodzą na plan dalszy, całe nasze życie publiczne i prywatne przestawiamy na nowe tory. Weszliśmy w okres wojny, cały wysiłek narodu musi iść w jednym kierunku, wszyscy jesteśmy żołnierzami. Musimy myśleć tylko o jednym, walka aż do zwycięstwa!"
    Few weeks later
"Halo Halo? Czy nas słyszycie, to nasz ostatni komunikat, dziś oddziały niemieckie wkroczyły do Warszawy. Bohaterskie pozdrowienia wysyłamy wszystkim żołnierzom Polskim walczącym na Helu i gdziekolwiek się jeszcze znajdują, jeszcze Polska nie zginęła! Niech żyje Polska! *Polish anthem*"
