I love how the first broadcast starts with a merry but somewhat alarming tune announcing the start of the German invasion, as there is hope to achieve final victory. The second one however starts with an ominous, eerie, hopeless tune because the enemy has entered the capital and the war is practically impossible to win. Simply amazing.
just to clear things up - the second one was a regular radio callsing used in poland even in pre war period, the first one if i'm correct was also a Polskie Radio callsign - not sure about the details. I know for sure we (i'm from Poland) use the variation of the first melody to this day, and the "ominous" one, kinda fits pre war period - it was a time in poland of both quasi dictatorship, but also immense grow in fields of art and music, so that vibe would probably sit well with people back then. The recordings were actually real. I might made some mistake here, and i'm sure better informed Polish viewer might correct whatever mistakes i've made (apart from butchering english).
As far as I heard, they were taking a break for a few years, probably till the war ends, sad that my country was not existing for 129 years (6 years WW1, 123 since 1795 i think)
These types of videos really make me cry, but I really don’t wanna forget them. They are a memory of the past. The voice of this man is giving me chills. Whenever I hear it, my heart gets broken. I never wanted to be alone, so did the Polish. I always felt alone because my friends didn’t understand me that much. They just want happiness, actually who doesn’t? But I couldn’t handle the betrayal, despair and the words that try to raise the nation’s hope in this recording. Remember me even if has been years. Love from Turkey to Poland 🇹🇷❤️🇵🇱
Even growing up with a polish family and grandparents who were born shortly before the war, it never quite hit me how terrifying it must've been until recently. I always thought it was horrible , but the pure terror and dread, no way to escape and limited choice to fight back. Truly horrific . And yet jeszcze Polska nie zniknęła
