Miss my grandad as this used to be his favourite show reminds me of Sunday afternoons on BBC 1 back in the early 80s. Also it meant going home after spending weekend with my grandparents
Like many here, i came for the pictures as well as the credits. As a kid, it took me awhile to realize the picture went along with the credit--the one for "director" shows a man supervising a gang of laborers, the one for "producer" shows an entrepeneur looking out over the industry he "produced", etc. Always liked that last one with the lady gesturing at the stage.
Over the decades I have known people who will only watch through the real and only season one era, or who will stick through more of season two to season fourteen original runs, but won't watch the season two to season fourteen years, but I believe the entire series is great, and Bonanza: The Official First Season (Volumes 1 and 2) is the only Bonanza DVD you'll ever want, so, just stick with the first season of the real season one era, and that's the only Bonanza you'll ever need
I've always loved the watercolor artwork of these credits. Of course, closing credits are unknown to modern audiences. After all, aren't you supposed to not be able to read them when they're squished to the side from advertising?
Got it. With a go-to team of composers such as David Rose and Jay Livingston and Ray Evans (who wrote the 'Bonanza' and 'Mister Ed' themes), no one could ask for more.
My dearly departed Nan loved anything with cowboys and Indians on the telly. Preferably in black and white and staring people like Barbara stanwick and the duke😂
Nice to see the ending credits on this site.....you'll NEVER see it on TV Land. But that's the way TV is today, making all that money on those damn ads......
Some of the most creative closing credits. If you agree, raise your hand.
I love the end credits because of the pictures. They always seem to evoke emotion out of me.

It was a awesome ending theme. One of the best.

Awesome, thanks! I always loved these drawings. Are they pastels, watercolors, or both (mixed media)? I will make my own !!

The original theme is the best instead of the other two themes that replace them.
