Great story Dylan...your grandma Nancy today told me about this...! I'm also a vw enthusiast...currently have a 76 westy...and a few others...looking forward to hearing more about yours!
Thank you very much Frank!!❤️🙏🏻Been working on that one for a week or so getting tons of info and pics from dylan to make the story rich with details😎. So glad i got to preserve his awesome Vanagon story!! Glad you enjoyed it and it was great meeting you this past saturday, great conversation and hope to see you at a show again!! We’ll have to do an interview then🤙🏻:)
FYI your wont be buying any more Bosch plugs.. Discontinued. NGK are fine as long as you have the right plugs. Resistor only.....None of that new stuff.
@@JustBugginVW I hope they were able to prosecute the guys who stole that bus. unfortunately most of these guys get away with it. probably wasnt the current owner. probably bought it from someone who re numbered it.
Yeah sadly they weren’t able to😕. If you look in the comment section you’ll see on Gary Turners comment the owner Dylan replied and said that it changed hands like 6 times😅.
I did hear Bosch were discounted after this interview so thanks for the heads up about ngk and getting them with resistors I didn’t know that. And for the prosecution unfortunately it was passed the time line due to statue of limitations but the detective was going to look into the first person to register it 3 days after it was stolen and also who physically had the vehicle to where the incorrect title and vin plate came from.
Wonder if that’s still any importance to that said investigator, surely you think they would’ve came up with something by now but i’m sure they deal with 100s if not 1,000s of stolen cars in st.pete or tampa area sadly😅. bad area for crime and it’s not too hard to steal a vw🥲. hopefully one day they come up with something but doubtful
Great to see the van going back to its rightful owners. Interesting to know what happened to the people that thought they owned it, if they were genuine then they must have been gutted to lose the van and did they get compensation compensated some how ?
The person that had it when I found it wasn’t happy to be losing it. He said he was going to look into if he could get any money back from the person he got it from. In the 6 years it was gone it changed hands 6 times I believe the detective said. Was in the Tampa area for a bit than up to Jacksonville for awhile than was moved to key west for awhile an broke down an was left in a out door storage yard where it was sold an brought back to st Pete and that’s where I found it at a car show
@@3wheelripper I dont know why they could not go back to the first person who owned it after it was stolen and investigate. someone did a vin change and should be in jail for that. Cops dont really care. The guy who had to give it up paid for it not knowing it was stolen. Cops should do more work to protect the people in the middle from having this happen again as well as the person who it was stolen from finding the thief.
We agree!! It was awesome that after 6 LONG i’m sure dreadful years they finally got reconnected with their beloved family van! Hope to see it stay in the McCord Family for many years to come❤️:)!! and isn’t it? imagine owning something and it not really being yours? that’d be not a great feeling of course if you had no part in the thief. Heard the gentleman wasn’t happy, he’s still in the local VW Community here as well. Hope you enjoyed the video!!❤️😎Thanks for the comment:)
much agreed! i’m sure there’s a way to go back in DMV records and figured it out but you know how the system is. Only when it’s beneficial to them they’ll do something😅. I’m sure they could easily see when it was registered in 2016 with the “vin swap”.
Thank you so much Dylan❤️🙏🏻!! So glad you loved it. Glad i got to preserve you and your families VW Story in History😆. Look forward to seeing the van and you at more shows!!
I’m so happy for you that you got the VW back!!! This bus was made to be in your family ✊🏼 what a beautiful story
❤️🤘🏻We Agree!!
