We damaged our rental van in the exact same spot cutting a corner to close in Italy years ago so Mike don’t feel bad. Plus ours was a brand new van...we were the first to rent it.😬

Peru is absolutely gorgeous! I did a work school study trip there for 10 days. We flew to Lima then to Cusco where we stayed overnight the first 2 and last night and then we worked and studied in Ollantaytambo, Peru! There is nothing quite like waking up and having the Andes Mountains right in your backyard!
Nothing wrong with learning a better way. It’s all a part of growth. You are wonderful parents, always trying to do what’s best for your family. How is Elijah doing. I’ve been concerned about him since the corona virus outbreak. Keeping him and all of you in my prayers. God bless.

I have to say how I love that family is first and the most important and taking care of and nourishing your husband and wife relationship is a vital part of that. So many moms and dads forget they were husband and wife first and will be husband and wife long after the kids have left home. You cannot put that relationship on hold until they are gone and think it can be healthy and fulfilling years later. Good for the pair of you!
This reminds me of the traveling in Europe I did as a child with my family. It's a totally different country but we would do the same things like wandering around in a city, visit churches, buying ice-cream. Those are among my best childhood memories. Also those donuts look a bit like apple beignets to me.
If it helps comfort you at all regarding the Van it was what helped you get your phone back… so even though it was probably costly in the long run you didn't lose the cost of your phone and all memories on it. Silver lining? :)

Megan & Mike I'm truly happy you can afford to give these children such a GIFT OF EXPERIENCING THE WORLD IN PERSON. These are such great memories for them to cherish for a lifetime.. I don't know how to say this. Eve was not handling all this walking & the travel. Or maybe these trips YOU need someone else to travel with you. They could watch her at the Air B&B during some of the long walks or hikes. I noticed several times she didn't want to go or hold hands. She just looked frustrated at times. You both & all the kids handle her limits really well. Just my opinion I think this trip was a little tuff terrain.. I know this is bits & pieces of what we see. GOD'S BLESSINGS 🙏❣️💖

The variety of clothing I found funny. We had sweaters, flannels, beanies and shorts and t-shirts. Also the path going to the second Church looked utterly exhausting. The same thing happened to us in Croatia this year. We were parking our car and didn’t see a small stone wall. It scratched up the front bumper. It cost is $1000 though. We just felt sick about it. We had to just swipe the card and walk away... nothing more we could have done. However driving in Croatia was amazing. We definitely got to see things we wouldn’t have seen if we flew between each city. We will definitely drive again when we go back!

When I was in the US Air Force & stationed in Zweibrucken Germany for almost two years June ' 73 - May ' 75 I was in awe of the beautiful Cathedrals , Chapels & Churches that I got to see . Jude looks so cute in his Pikachu hat . Were you satisfied each time with the cleanliness of your laundry ? When I lived in New York state decades ago after we went apple picking we had fresh pressed apple cider out of a huge wooden barrel & hot fresh made apple cider donuts . They were so delicious . Does Cusco have Lyft also ? Megan love the colorful Alpaca scarf that you bought for $6.00 . Enjoy it .
What a super adventure. Peru is South American and a whole different culture / experience than the North American / Western European tours that you have done so far. So, of course there is a learning curve. Imho, you all have done amazingly well. I’ve loved being along for the adventure ;-)
We are the same. If driving needs to be done, hubby does it. I’m perfectly happy with it and in fact prefer it, as whilst I’m a good driver, I’m just not confident in my abilities. I am a great companion to Hubby, feeding him snacks and keeping him going, we are a great team too. Xxx p.s I’m with Peter... I hate heights. I love that Mike drives everywhere. I do all the driving when we travel, my husband makes me a nervous wreck when he drives lol $400 plus for the rental car damages is not too bad, if in the US it probably would have been 5 times more expensive, so count your blessings. Having been to Peru twice, I was shocked at your plan to drive. Scary enough in a taxi My friend who lives in Arequipa told me that the adjustments to altitude are easier when you fly. I have loved your videos -they stirred up so many good memories of our trips.
