20th Century Fox must have had great lawyers to avoid being sued over Alien.
Fox owns the rights
PRO TIPS: With The Alligator People, set the Difficulty Switch to A (Expert). If you set it for B (Novice) you can't die. This is why Fox cancelled the release of it (AtariAge sells repros of it). Worm War I - do NOT shoot the white garages! Also, don't let the worms touch you. I use to have the World Record for this game.
Wouldn't that have been an easy code fix though? In any case, AtariAge has done some amazing homebrew games over the years for the Atari 2600.
Loved Mega Force and Worm War I. I even made a clone of Worm World I for os/2 back in the day.
That' worm war commercial is awesome!
Attack of the Beefsteak Tomatoes has some surprisingly good music (for the VCS), and the "mug shot" in the game was quite a rare thing in VCS games (considering the extremely limited resources of the system). My guess is that the programmer ended up with more space than he thought once he'd finished the game and added it.
That's Planet of the Apes, the video is incorrect. Revenge of the Beefsteak Tomato is a completely different game. Also the footage here is a later fan made revision of the Apes prototype that added music and the detailed face shot.
Ok I heard of Porkys, Turmoil and MASH and Beany Bopper but the rest not so much
Revenge of the Beefsteak Tomatoes looks more like Planet of the Apes prototype ...
do you have the right ROM ?
i need to try that alligator game at the start. looks rewarding yet frustrating
I didn't realise they made so many games! I don't even remember seeing them in the UK, shame as there's some great titles here.
Too bad that I honestly think I only played M.A.S.H. and Worm War I among these.
Are Planet of the Apes and Revenge of the Beaksteak Tomatoes the same game, or did you use the wrong footage?
There was a wrongly labelled prototype that led people to believe they were, the correct one has since been found.
@@TheLairdsLair The incorrectly labeled prototype was Alligator People, not Beefsteak Tomatoes. Beefsteak Tomatoes was released and is a different game entirely.
0:15 lmao Pac-Man with aliens
1:44 I enjoyed playing this game
12:13 wow they really just used planet of the apes and renamed it revenge of the beefsteak tomatoes.
Never saw mega force
Had no idea that planet of the apes was a game
It's an unreleased prototype. When a prototype labeled Planet of the Apes was finally found after years of searching, it turned out to be the prototype for the unreleased The Alligator People, which I own a repro of that I bought from AtariAge. A prototype of Planet of the Apes was finally found after 3 decades of searching. Save the Whales was also completed but not released. AtariAge sells repros of it too.
Unreleased prototype
