Spent a few days in Rovaniemi in 2022 Dec for my birthday with my wife. It was so surreal, majestic and pure. Highly recommended for people from warmer places who havent experienced such life growing up. I would recommend hiring a car(ask your provider to give winter tyres) and taking a resort outside of Rovaniemi (ahead of apuka) as that would be more pure, peaceful, greater chances of seeing Northern lights and you can explore forest, try local finish sauna.

All cars have snow tyres which are driven in snow.
At some places, people change from summer to winter tyres and vice versa as per the weather...
