The most notable thing about the whole issue is that the katakuri player asked the judge if the game was over and the judge said no, that they should continue and then talk to the WB player in French with joy. The katakuri player told this a few hours ago. Wild
yes, Fernando during a talk show in Luigi Amato streaming confimed that the judge, that was talking in French with Wolwi, said to continue the game. This sould be a ban for both Wolwi and that judge
He's got someone on the optcg subreddit mods team that got the post with this twitch clip removed and posted some b****it about he not cheating and his family being in danger or whatever... This whole situation is messed up.
If in a top 8 live stream game they(judge and player, both french btw) are capable of doing these traps, imagine what they are capable of in a non-streamed game........ wild.
One thing to note wb player didn't rest don for guard point . He rest it after he pitched his hand . Shit like that can confuse a player . Rest don then play the card .
Super random, but kudos to you and your brother for always staying positive and open minded. A lot of these OP content creators start going down rabbit holes of negativity. I also really appreciate the foresight you had with your opening monologue about not harassing the man.
While I don’t condone blasting the cheaters I feel these vids are very helpful in a sense of educating honest players what to look out for during your matches especially during big events. This past Pasadena event I called out my opponent for “cheating”while playing purple luffy. At 10 Don they played 9c Kaido w effect putting them to 5 Don, next turn he went to 7 Don (3 Don left in stack) used leader ability to take a life and ramp to 8 Don, he did the motion so quick that I almost didn’t catch it until seeing his stack only had 1 Don remaining. Asked him to hold for a sec and went through his trash because I had KOd the Kaido and let him know he should only be at 8 Don after leader effect not 9. We resolved the issue without needing a judge as I’m sure he was embarrassed enough after the rest of the table overheard the discrepancy. I knew it was intentional as at end of round he had another 9c Kaido in hand which definitely would have gotten him the win had I not noticed the extra ramp. Keep an eye out for plays like this and don’t be ashamed to ask your opponent to slow down a bit or take a minute to repeat their play back to them. Hearing yourself go over your opponent’s plays can often make more sense of the situation rather than just trusting your opponent as they silently go through their motions. End rant
Bro how didn’t the other dude not realize I always count the counter myself especially if it’s in a regional or treasure cup and dude threw his whole hand down like it lost no one does that unless they lost
pretty sad no one caught this, whenever i go to a tournament i try to learn every card i might encounter in games and any competitive player should know inmediately those cards werent counters. still sad tho.
To the people thinking he misplayed not guarding the 9k swing I didn't watch the stream but I believe it was a 12k swing if you notice the 2 rested don at the start which demonstrates a Amaru buff on Kata Ldr
Not to say he didn't cheat, but if he plays it right, just 2k counter out of 9k swing from lead. Then if Pero swing 8k with Amaru, guard point out of it. Then take 8 cost Kata Swing since you have 1 life remaining.
It was a bad misplay because if that last life was a no counter no trigger he’d lose to a 13k from 8c even without amaru only getting to 13k with counter in hand. who knows why he took maybe to protect board I guess but weird bluff to make
@qxacexp1925 you’re right I see it in the frame at the beginning of the video. Not a misplay then cause he’d hoping for specifically bad manners kick course instead of just needing a 1k or 2k if he did have amaru
good video and interesting subject, but lowkey I slam my cards when I counter lol. Guess ill try to be more careful and precise when doing it though and clear about what I am playing. I probably have bad habits like this since I play more casually at locals than big tourneys or anything like that.
Yea it is also illegal to pitch a card for counter with 0 counter, the slam is not a big deal but he just trashes his whole hand and instantly moves it to discard pile
this is cheating the whitebeard knew the game was over but took advantage of the other guy if he was a real man he would of corrected the kata that he won
Yeah that shit was not an honest mistake. You can tell by the body language of his hand movements. Dude 100 knew what he was doing, and should get a permanent ban.
They tend to be lenient and let a lot slip through, recently they have been more active so hopefully they can start making examples of cheaters so it happens less.
thats dirty. only read about it, didnt see the video until now. 100% intentional. 100% judge and fernando messed up too, but that doesnt make the cheating right
The funny thing is thats always the ppl who dont know a single shit about the situstion that speaks the most 😂 Yes this was an error but not intentional, yes that his fault but neither judge or opponent has noticed it, then its litteraly also their fault. Stop bashing everybody when you have no clue
Why would you throw down 2 cards if you only needed 1k more to counter. He misplayed by didnt counter out of the 9k swing, and the judge is totally garbage.
The Newgate player had the game, 2k out of the 9k leader swing. He'd still have one life left for the Katakuri swing. And could counter out of a Perospero swing.
Yes he cheated, but the Katakuri player should have checked the counters to make sure, it won't even make you look like an ass because it's valid to also see what the opponent is trashing
Kind of ironic seeing people who support One Piece / One Piece TCG harassing and threatening this guy. It’s almost like they’re missing the entire point of the series.
The slow down is misleading. At full speed, he's on the stage and has to keep trudging forward. It's a split second decision. "Okay, it's over." "No it's not." "It's not? Okay, well, restand... Attach 1... hit for game... GG?" Disbelief ensues because he's thinking "oh, so I miscounted and that wasn't a 14k? Damn, I thought I lost." Seriously, I've played with the guy that is 100% how he would think, and be very confused. This one is on the judge for saying it wasn't over.
Apparently the one who got cheated on said at that moment he asked the judge if it was over and that the WB player and the judge spoke in French and then asked him to resume the match. Many were at fault but to gracefully take pictures and be all happy for a 3rd place that clearly wasn't earned yet is frustrating to a lot of players.
let’s be real, why let the game end and go AFTER the fact, he knew what he was doing and is just playing the “honest mistake” card like we see time and time again. that’s just my opinion, situation is messed up from every point of view. one thing we all can agree on is he doesn’t deserve any hate or threats regardless of his actions.
@AwakenedTCG Yep agree with you on that. Just wanted to point it out because I randomly saw it while watching the video... but the entire situation is weird as hell
If that's true what's up with the selfie and accepting the prizing then gloating tagging Eggman and others on Twitter saying card is too strong . And that was under someone else tweet saying he cheated .
Its the yellow players fault and also the judges fault regardless if the red player did it intentionally or unintentionally judge is getting paid to make sure this doesnt happen and as a player thats shame on you for assuming your opponent wont cheat
The most notable thing about the whole issue is that the katakuri player asked the judge if the game was over and the judge said no, that they should continue and then talk to the WB player in French with joy. The katakuri player told this a few hours ago. Wild
Then he probably know the judge which give him the courage to cheat it out
yes, Fernando during a talk show in Luigi Amato streaming confimed that the judge, that was talking in French with Wolwi, said to continue the game. This sould be a ban for both Wolwi and that judge
That's not an honest mistake he knew he was doing and took advantage
Seeing it slowed down and commentated over made me realize that it was pretty blatant cheating and known.
So some judges really should be replaced. That's their job. Something like that simply shouldn't happen.
He's got someone on the optcg subreddit mods team that got the post with this twitch clip removed and posted some b****it about he not cheating and his family being in danger or whatever... This whole situation is messed up.
He's not a competitor at the end of the day...he's a cheater. If he cheated at this stage, when and where else did he cheat at?
If in a top 8 live stream game they(judge and player, both french btw) are capable of doing these traps, imagine what they are capable of in a non-streamed game........ wild.
One thing to note wb player didn't rest don for guard point . He rest it after he pitched his hand . Shit like that can confuse a player . Rest don then play the card .

ban him permanently. Nothing more to say

This is pretty flagrant cheating 😭
i see you juan

its obviously intentional why would you throw non counters into trash, especially at this level, he is not a beginner
he cheats on stream so probably does it all the time

This is clearly an error on the part of the judges, who has never made a mistake while playing? the judges are there for that!!

Gotta have integrity to not do this. Same people that would take incorrect change from a mom n pop store.
Dont understand why people do this. Even if you win this tournement you will get banned if it comes out...

Sheeshhhhh imagine needing a win that bad with WB😂😂 Yall who play really are sweaty every time 😅❤
We need to hold him accountable F that
A crime of opportunity...
Dude was shaking too after it’s like he knew but ofc not gonna say that and maybe it was his nerves..
Idk kinda sucks for the Kat player
Judge should be reported and have its test approval revoked as well. Both should punished... cheater and judge.
That was obviously on purpose. He knew game was up
im calling for a ban on wolwi or i will assume👿😡 bandai promotes cheating

Funny thing is the only people i saw so far cheating are red players, obviously i'm not referring to ALL red players😂
I'm new to this game. Does Bandai have a history of punishing obvious cheaters? Great breakdown of what happened.
They tend to be lenient and let a lot slip through, recently they have been more active so hopefully they can start making examples of cheaters so it happens less.
Not trying to go against him in Nats
Thanks, I will message him about this and make sure to tell all my friends to do the same.
Warrants a 6 month ban in my opinion
It wasn’t cheating until he started his turn. At that point, he took an unfair advantage of the situation.
This is actually really bad and bluntly cheating on live stream. He should be banned, and the judge should get revoked.
Honestly I was at the tournament and the judge wasn't really into it
thats dirty. only read about it, didnt see the video until now. 100% intentional. 100% judge and fernando messed up too, but that doesnt make the cheating right
Why didn't he just counter the 9k swing to begin with lmao.
Because its a 12k swing i think
Notice the 2 rested don for Amaru on ldr
You right. He even mentioned it in the video WB at 8k all he needed was to throw out that 2k counter he had.
2:50 it's not a misplay, the game is over he has no life. He lost.

Everyone here at fault. No excuse for the poor sportsmanship but end of the day a top 8 player should know if ace and zoro have counter
If the Katakuri player was keeping track of the counters, this wouldn't have happened. A reminder for us all to be more vigilant in this game.
I love cheater vids.
Start banning players again
Why would you throw down 2 cards if you only needed 1k more to counter. He misplayed by didnt counter out of the 9k swing, and the judge is totally garbage.

Not 9k, it was 12...
So he would have won if he held on to radical bean and played it for the Katakuri attack lol
nah he only had 1 don up and needed that for the guard point in hand
Nope, rad beam trigger giving plus 1k and guard point is the same as just playing rad beam. He only had one don up.
The Newgate player had the game, 2k out of the 9k leader swing. He'd still have one life left for the Katakuri swing. And could counter out of a Perospero swing.
