  • How to replace the OEM intercooler tube with an aftermarket, upgraded cold side charge pipe for the 6.7L f250 2011-2018. The OEM part is prone to failure. Our last two either burst or cracked so we upgraded from OEM to this one from Sinister Diesel. Hopefully this one will last a lifetime!

    Hey 6th Day Ranch, Here is a heads up from a fellow Texan. The fact that this has happened to you more than once makes me think you might have the same problem that I did with my 2015 f250. Long story short, I drive ALOT. DFW to Houston to SA/Austin loop twice weekly. I was running too much injector cleaner/cetane booster and melted my DPF, blew the boot just like you and it put a hole in my charge air cooler system. Had to install the aftermarket boot and billet adaptor, removed the DPF and straight piped it, programmed the EGR and DEF to stay closed w/ some mild tunes. I thought I was done but my tranny was running hot while driving HWY only, Had to install the mishimoto Charge air cooler too, now its done. If you still have the DPF installed, might want to delete it or at least measure the psi change through the exhaust. 2015 f250 4x4 lariat with 260K with only the work above, 3rd set of batteries, 6set of tires, ac fan motor, shocks, brakes, and nothing else done to it.

    Thank you for this! I'm near Waco, TX. (China Spring) Mine (2015) just blew right at the joint where the metal band (as seen here 7:35 ). It's not even a clamp, just a pressfit band. 'Comon Ford. really? I will say the BOOM when it blew was pretty shocking.
    10:43 Can the metal to rubber clamp be preinstalled and tightened before sliding it down into position? If not, did you just use an open-end wrench to tighten? (probably take 5000 little 1/4 inch turns right? ;) )

      Could be the truck needs time to relearn. I'd reset it and see if it comes back. If it does check anything that has to do with airflow. Cools be MAP sensor (that can usually just be cleaned) air filter or maybe a stuck egr Valve but not likely if you didn't have the problem before.

  • @brandonkoff
    @brandonkoff Год назад +1

    After you replace this and went to the aftermarket, did you notice a slight drop in your turbo boost when you were just driving normally? I just changed mine out and it feels like I'm not getting as much boost under normal driving conditions but when I get on it I can get the full 21 PSI. Just wondering if this is a common occurrence when you switch to an aftermarket and the air flows through much better.
