Fjøsnisse This was just a promotion. And there’s tons of improvisation going on in this video. I dare you to find a guitarist that doesn’t fuck up during inprov. If you find one, they’re a liar. He’s a clean player. There’s tons of videos on RUclips of him playing immaculate. Also his solos with Scar Symmetry are next to perfect.
@@thegatesofsleep Guthrie Govan would fuck his all holes in improv, BUT we know who Govan is. I know Per from his collab with Meshuggah. I respect him a lot, especially because his work is influenced by Allan Holdsworth.
@@thegatesofsleep He plays Neuromancer solo in the exact same way it's on the album though, there is no improvisation in it. But the thing is, the dumbass you were replying to simply doesn't fucking know the difference between "making a mistake" and playing "not clean", i.e. with bad technique. Everyone makes *random* mistakes live and that's perfrectly ok, while playing with *consistently* bad technique is not ok. But, well, it's Per Nilsson, no need to talk about HIS technique. :)
Started listening to Paul after watching this video about 8 months ago. Paul is such a fantastic guitarist and a great dude! I encourage all to check him out!
@@Vapir87 Lol I’m the reverse of your story. I had been listening to Paul for a number of years and he would periodically mention Per in his posts and of course Per has played on at least one of Paul’s albums before. Yeah they are both top notch musicians.
I've just discovered this guy... just WOW! Shred'y yet such a sense of melody ! So many shredders ripp their guitars apart with incredible techniques, but I can listen to them for a max of 10-30 seconds and get bored because it's not musical... but this guy has it all!
cant get over how good this dudes phrasing is.. im usually not so intimidated as a shredder myself cuz i know sometimes people use some little tricks to sound better but this dude has absolute grasp on his theory! and we know sometimes good guitar players can be a dime a dozen but then theres this dude! he uses so many crazy modes and chords in their stuff. its like black metal meets death metal meets melodic metal meets death core and maybe even djent meets jazz meets fusion etc etc crazy good band! 👏👏👏 both r great guitarists!
Unbelievably clean, it's like listening to a mastered shiny studio album, all in straight single takes. I'd have to do 500 takes, broken down into 50 little segments, and I still couldn't play a lot of the stuff going on here lol.
I would buy this guitar in a heartbeat if that scratch plate didn't exist. Must be the only .strandberg* i'm not 100% sold on. However, Per is an absolute monster. DAT VIBRATO!!! He deserves more recognition for what he does.
I enjoy Marco's stuff a lot. He is WAY too unknown...you gotta be a guitar geek to even know who he is, but then again even JP, JS, SV, YM, EJ, etc are even kinda in that club too.
One of my all time favorite guitarists, I love his phrasing, composition and overall style. But, I can't stand that headless guitar, it's driving me mad!
Does anyone know what keys his songs/songs are written in usually? I'm want to learn how to write songs/solos like this. I usually play by ear though lol.
Ghost Prototype I sounds like B minor and Ghost Prototype II sounds like G# minor. He probably writes in a shit ton of keys, mostly minor since this is metal after all!
I have a strandberg boden os7L and I would say it is a beautiful guitar, it plays and feels really nice. But there is a little problem for me. It seems like it is TOO light. Dont get me wrong, I cannot play those 20kg Gibsons at all, but Strands seem to be the opposite side, and what I think is best is the middle way.
One of the cleanest players I've ever seen. His technique is immaculate and the phrasing is so playful/innovative.
he is not that clean....listen.....the necromancer solo...
@@fjoesnisse nah hes clean sorry

Those sweeps were so intense my living room has no dust.
Im a drummer but could seriously listen to Per play all day long.
"IM A DRUMMER BUT..."
"IM A CENTRAL ANTARCTICAN BASS PLAYER BUT..."
"IM 189 YEARS BUT..."
"IM -1000 YEARS OLD BUT ..."
"seriously"
One of the most tasteful guitar players I've ever heard!
Who the fuck disliked this? I will find you.
Probably Yngwie Malmsteen out of jealousy. Eeeeey!
lofl
here's my number, if you find him, don't start without me!
metfan4l Just some guitarists who only plays punkrock. They don't understand this kind of clean guitar playing.
It was me. Could you find me ? I could do with some company!
Per is such a beast! I have said it before, if Steve Vai played Melodic death metal Per is what you get.
That Neuromancers' solo gives me chills every time
What a shredding monster! Beautiful melody as well. I can listen to this dude all day long.
This is the best live recording of Per I've run across. Awesome quality with the audio, guys.
Serious finger and hand muscle. Love watching this guy play
Those sweeps got me pregnant.
Greg Weatherly those sweeps cleaned my floor lol
Those sweeps cleared Bin ladens compound.
Congrats! Is it going to be a boy or a girl guitar?

Love the Paul Wardingham shirt! Paul is one of my favorite guitarists and Per is becoming one of my favorite as well. Love this style of shred.

So fluid. Many techniques. Much taste. Them melodies....Such wow

I love this human being, he is dripping talent. Deserve everything.
The lone down-vote was as result of a spastic tremor induced by Per's insane virtuosity.
One of the only guitarists I think that can honestly paint a picture with his instrument. Beautiful gift to anyone listening.
1:38 One of the greatest riffs i ever heard
+Oblivion Walker Noumenon and Phenomenon from Dark Matter Dimensions. Good song

Monster playing. Great shredding but melodic and interesting at the same time!!. Awesome!!
Wow, I hope I meet this guy one day just to give him a compliment personally on his playing. It's amazing.
Paul Wardingham shirt! :D Cool! Great video!
haha fuck yeah paul's a beast.
quite the distinctive shred.
Somehow i read that as "Paul's a breast"
Wait wut? XD
Totally makes sense! Two great players with a somewhat similar style, in my opinion.
Unbelievably clean, it's like listening to a mastered shiny studio album, all in straight single takes. I'd have to do 500 takes, broken down into 50 little segments, and I still couldn't play a lot of the stuff going on here lol.
Very unique and reallt clean lead pick attack. Always a big pleasure to listen to him play.
Man, I could watch him play for hours!
Had a chance to personally speak with this guy. The most humble and down to earth person ever. Kool AF on my book.
His playing is so clean. Just like Allan holdsworth.
Listen to his 'Improvises over Nili Brosh' video here on RUclips
Sounds almost like Holdsworth.
This guy is just so insanely good....
Damn that was impressive!
Love the Paul Wardingham Tshirt. There is some mutual admiration going on there!
Most under rated and not famous guitarist But he's one of the bests
Amazing as usual!
Wow! Some of the coolest sweep picking I've heard/ seen. I have some work to do now. :( Haha! Excellent playing, Per!
Per is love. Immaculate stuff all around.
Damn Per Nilsson! You really know how to do some thangs on that there 8 stick!!Good job with Meshuggah too!

Wow! Wonderful! and what a nice guitar ... you master this one!

It clearly is the secret to being the best at guitar.
Cool thing about scar symmetry is that they're not really a heavy band but play heavy sounding instruments really well.
Crazy sweep pickin'.. idolaa
What is that first song he's playing. There's a couple tasty chugs and then this sick melody. think he starts on the 10th fret of the b string
Per is the goat!!
NOCTURNAL RITES 💪😡🤘
i know you've heard this before but it's time for an instrumental album per!
the fans would go craazy for that! \m/.
Incredible never listened to much of him before but I will now!
Is this a complation of scar symetry solos?
I swear I felt like I'm listening to Yngwie Malmsteen. So many familiar sounds. Also familiar because I've worn out my Scar Symmetry albums too :D
AMAZING!
Это просто отвал башки! Scar Symmetry💘
Such a tasty playing!! Does he play on some VST plugin here, and which?
Epic!
Who is this guy? Wow, awesome
So amazing
I'm surprised he has a neck pickup. He always sounds great. Is he playing through the Bias FX head?
