I use primarily VSX and what was amazing was mixing a track on the VSX and hearing it on a line array system which translated beautifully. VSX eliminates problems and saves you time!
you are a legend mate 🍻thanks for the video! How is the noise isolation? do they have some foam on the cans? can they be usable for tracking drums as well?
Cheers! They do have foam pads but I really wouldn’t use these or 90% of headphones for tracking drums, the sheer noise of the kit will just bleed through. For that purpose I’d get something like cheap in ear monitors covered by 3M Peltors
yes, yes it is very worth it. the mike dean stuff is very worth it especially if you make electronic music that is heavy on bass. vsx and their rooms is the best investment i have ever made in my music career.
In the video one of the left can looks like it's broken. I noticed you had to hold it to your ear. Am I missing something. Did the newer model break on you as well? What did they do different. Did they make the adjusting band metal or is iut still plastic.
I said in the video, that was my older founder’s edition pair, because of the rush to head out on tour those were the only ones I could get. The new ones are fine and are a metal band
Slate has an uphill battle to overcome all the complaints I have seen online. Perhaps the new version is really good but that's just the way things are. It's said it costs 10 times as much to get a customer back as to delight and keep them in the first place.
Indeed I have, not because of the breaking though- they also replaced mine and apparently they’re back to their quick turnaround times, no issues there. I just prefer the immediacy of not being sat in a room emulation
@@adamsteelproducer I've checked out the plugins that are supposed to emulate various studios and don't like them much. I suppose they are better with proper head tracking.
i got a set and i have to be honest, i'm gonna have to send them back. not because they sound bad, but because they're very short. what i mean is that if you have a massive head like myself, then these will be uncomfortable. i have them extended to full length and they're still fitting tight on the top of my head to get them on my ears. I wouldnt say i'm like sloth from goonies, but do have a manly size noggin. AS such, i'll have to send them back. They just ache on the top on my head unlike my dt880's and hd650s. shame as they do well in helping you with low end.
Hello, I love the VSX and use it as often as possible. Unfortunately, my first version broke at the bottom of the headband. But fortunately, the Stevan slate team changed the helmet with the new model and I love it. But I must admit that I use it sparingly because I am not reassured and I am afraid that it will break again. I see that at 2:17, the headset does not fit properly on the left ear anymore. It seems to me that this is the new version of the headset. What is the problem?

Of all the studios available in VSX, which one would you say could be the most effective in mixing orchestral material? Thanks.
Seems your left hand is trying to hold the poorly made headphones to your ear? Did they not fix it??
What cable did you get to replace the factory one that came with it?
I think this vid got me over the edge to buy them. Thanks

@@adamsteelproducer thanks again mate! yeah that's what I have been using. Have a good one!

i have never seen people so much excited about any product like this before, i feel like this is a revolution if true.

In the video of you in the bus, it looks like the left headphone is at a funny angle. Is it broken (again)?
Looks like it
Those are my original pair, I forgot to bring the newer fixed ones because I’m an idiot. Not slates fault
Even better with 4.0 now way better

The new versions are rock solid. My broken vsx headphones were replaced within 7 days.
@@JackieStacyBakerMusic That's good news. Adam looks like he's gone back to normal headphones.

im a huge head myself and they fit with lots of room left over on the headband. am I talking to jimmy neutron? : -)
Have you tried the VSX system? What headphones do you currently use?
At the moment I'm using DT990 Pro with Sonarworks, and JBL LR305. I was considering getting Ollo S4x
Owned mine almost as long as you. Best studio purchase I've ever made
Austrian Audio Hi-X65
Absolutely superb.
got em love em
