“Do me a favor, die for me,” is my favorite Life Series line hands down.
My favourite part is how Cleo goes "do me a favour, die for me" and it instantly turns to the final deaths. Especially because the first two are Jimmy ("what?! It was an accident!!") and Mumbo ("noo, my friend!") yelling in apologies and betrayal... the reaction Cleo was looking for from BigB after they said that line

I don't think Martyn realizes how much the communities LOVE the watcher lore and how much content really does generate from a rather simple story.

Can someone explain the watcher lore to me? I can’t find any videos or anything explaining it
@@KatieKatDuzArt Martyn has TONS of VODS explaining the lore, but I’ll try to summarize what I know of it. Before the life series, the watchers were first mentioned in EVO SMP, an SMP run by Grian. The watchers are god like beings that gain power from emotions, and at the end of EVO SMP as the members returned from the dragon fight, they took Grian (the server admin) and turned him into one of them. EVO SMP eventually finished and the watchers weren’t really mentioned until the Life series, when Martyn took over the lore.
In the lore, the watchers created the life smp as a way to harvest negative emotions from the players, almost like the Hunger Games in a way. Between every series, the players lose their memory and remain unconscious in a sort of void space until the next one begins. Grian, unlike the other watchers, does not partake in the emotional harvest and does his best to protect the players from the watchers. He joins the games as a way of trying to save the players, but so far has failed every time.
This is *very* summarized and taken from the little knowledge I have gained, so all the info may not be completely accurate, but it is a very interesting part of the fandom. I hope this helped a little!

Cleo is awesome and has a real way with words. Plus she has the ability to turn on what I call the "teacher's tone", that tone of voice some teachers can do which stop students in their tracks and make them behave without a need to shout, when she delivers those lines in that tone they absolutely wreck hehe(my mother was a teacher with that ability, so I've experienced that tone many times in my life haha).
I'm surprised no one replied this already, she used to be a teacher, so it makes sense she could do it lol

I know right! I always say that if I was a minecraft youtuber I would be Cleo. Simply because Cleo can be scary as heck, but isn't great at PVP. It's the same for me.

Am I the only one who thinks that when Cleo is singing “I killed BigB!” it sounds awfully like Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix when Bellatrix was taunting Harry singing “I killed Sirius Black!”? I find that so perfect fitting with Cleo’s character in Last Life after she was killed by BigB. Absolutely perfect.
I think it's the same notes, that's why it sounds similar.
That and the fact that both of them have British accents.

Has anyone else noticed the “foreshadowing” going on Grian won season 1, Scott won this season, Pearl who was in this final 4 won season 3, and Martyn who was also in this final 4 won season 4 so the only one who was in this final who hasn’t won yet is Rendog!!!

I said it on the video, and I'll say it again here. This song is even better than the Third Life one... Cleo's lines (though I still adore 'we bow for NO ONE' in the TL vid), the backing, the final section, the watchers... It's incredible and I wish I could create anything half as good

i dont know if you noticed but the little tune you pointed out at 4:45 (which also plays at the start of the song) is actually a tune from the "I Turned 3rd Life Into a Song" video but turned into minor key, also being a hint to the watcher lore at the start going "we had a taste before, back in the winter... it wasnt enough"

Trouble is, the only one I know off the top of my head that said "season" at the end of LiL was Tango, and he was eliminated _relatively_ early, so if Anvil's going in order it wouldn't really work. That and his was mid-sentence ("...another disappointing season of Life.")

2:48 I adore this song to bits but thankfully I'm not the only one who thought Skizz and Impulse's lines would rhyme. It breaks the rhyming pattern
The 'end' rhymes with mumbo's 'friend', so it's uses a different rhyming scheme but I think it works

I adore that this song just feels like a continuation of the last one. Even with the chorus mimicking the original one
I'm soooo glad the Watcher lore has kicked off within... Nearly literally everywhere related to Hermitcraft, Empires, Literally just you being you. I really enjoyed seeing it for the first time in RatsSMP and then binged nearly all of your episodes on Minecraft in general trying to figure out what your lore was.
And then you gave it away in a short which was a huge relief but, seeing the greater community and talented animators and artists in all fields start touching up on your lore and giving it more light has been so entertaining to watch and makes it feel so rewarding to just be apart of this community

Cleo just popped off in Last life! There were different characters in every season I liked better than others.
3rd life: Scar the trader, Grian the babysitter Ren (red king) and Martyn.
Last life: Cleo and Joel, to say the least.
Double Life: Pearl, Tango pop to my mind.
Limited life: The family and the bad boys were great. But for me that last one, nobody really popped out as much to me. Although I started to like Jimmy's content more in general. Where I didn't like it in the first few series. He grew on me in the cross over of hermitcraft - Empires.
Skizz really popped off in LiL and gave some strong main character energy although he had terrible luck
@@fauteuil1046 I should really go back to watching Skizz. I followed everyones pov in the very first 2 seasons but cut back on people I didn't enjoy watching. But Skizz has grown a lot. I know that. I'll give him another chance next season. Just like I did with Jimmy.

At 2:06 I've just realized the distortion of grians and mumbo's switched positions for a milisecond where it briefly distorts the positions/view from grian looking at mumbo to mumbo looking at grian later in the series ever so slightly

And that is just like most people they don't just want to watch the fun, they want to be in the fun. Kinda like how Mumbo watched Hermitcraft and wanted to play in Hermitcraft. And he did. I understood Grian when he turned down on just watching 💜👀
