Althea (of Althea & Donna) is my mom... someone sent this video to her and she sent it my way! Lol .. she loves it! Thanks so much for this and thank you for the love!
Please tell you're mom I have always loved this song. I first heard it in a skateboarding video from the 90's. Pro skateboarder and later celebrated street-ware designer (invented weed socks) Keith Hufnagel (rip) skated to it. Great song.
Seen this on top of the pops way back den, it's still brilliant, pure class, a classic, Heart attack, Never been to a top rank dance hall, made it to England till mid 80s from Ireland, Brixton town and ting, happy new year to your momma, One love,♥️🏴☠️🧷💣
I fricken' love this song. Never thought I'd get to watch a guitarist hear it for the first song and figure it out/teach it to me. The things you stumble into on youtube! thanks!
FWIW, you're speaking at like a 500 level music theory. As a casual guitar player 80%+ of what you're talking about is going right over my head. It would be great to break down some of the concepts youre referring to and explain what you're talking about with modes and 5ths and 3rds and things. It would also be super helpful if you slow down and play the riffs slowly, or zoom in on your left hand to show the chords/notes more clearly.
'Gimme lil bass, let me wind up my waist.' Thank You. I've always loved this tune. Pleasantly surprised to run into it cruising your channel. Love the videos, great job!
This is based on (cover?) Alton "The Godfather of Rocksteady" Ellis "I'm Still In Love With You", made even more popular (to those who listen to this stuff) by Marcia Aitken. Nice hangover video. Got a chuckle out of the thought of going to a game now.
upper extensions, quite jazzy, 9th , 7th, 5th, then then 3rd ,6th, maj 7th, root , implying minor 9th and maj 7th chords but yeah probably just thought it sounded good.
In the 70s in England, the kids went to a syndicated nite club, the top rank, present in most cities and big provincial towns, discos and live venue's, The ladies are singing about being in their best threads on a Saturday night in their khaki suit and ting,, see her in her halter back,,, But yeah, Dem strictly roots, Dem beat all the pop style, jammin, ♥️🧷

A criminally under viewed video if I ever saw one, an amazing song and group too.
Really enjoying these Michael and I'm learning loads. Well done.

Funny. I stumbled on Althea & Donna in exactly the same way! Great song.
Boom! So glad you did some reggae. Check out Mortimer "lightning". Nice song with some unique guitar for the genre that has a slight country feel.
love it brother!

Hi Michael, how about Moonlight Drive by the Doors?
I think this is the first really good guitarist I've heard admitting they like reggae (apart from Keef Richards). I feel......acceptance. 😂
Those Jamaican musicians were very talented and creative. Quality was uttermost.
Yo, you should listen to the live versjon at Heartland Reggae 1978! It's such a great versjon
Tune
Sturgill Simpsons npr. Any of the songs, hes amazing
Очень круто! Отличный выбор! Здоровья тебе и твоим близким! Спасибо 🙏🏿

Not sure why they even bothered to play that game.
Green, yellow and red aren't Jamaican. More Rasta. Jamaican flag is green, black and yellow.
Just watching you play demonstrate that we take these music for granted not really knowing the hard work that it takes to produce these rhythms
Top Rankin - Is some one who his very roots and smooth.

This is the same rythm of Alton Ellis - Im Still in Love. Sean Paul did a cover of this song. Check them out
