We ran jcb for years switched to merlo far superior machine in most ways currently running a p40.7 with 13000 hours on it still going strong looking at adding a 38.10 to it to help with the workload won't be switching back to jcb anytime soon find the build quality lacking and add blue problems in the newer ones

    Hi,
JWB Farm Services (on RUclips) does a lot of big straw bales to the power stations said he had tried the Merlo’s but when handling them 9 high he found they weren’t as stable as the JCB’s

Great Video again today Joe. 👍👍. I think the JCB was sulking because it’s been two timed by a little green machine🤣🤣🤣. God a busy day pal 👍👍👍. You gotta look after yourself Joe. With all these viruses going round you don’t want yourself, your family and all at the farm catching it and to be laid up for a week or two 🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍👍. We’ll be safe and get well soon pal 👍👍👍👍👍. Love it.

Great Video Joe and 24 mins was like watching a feature film. " Business " all the john deere were worth having, and the Merlo is a little demon casting spells on the JCB. but it is dam cold so the Merlo can be forgiven.its a good bit of kit.

All the neighbours around our area only run JCB now, several used to run Merlo and Manitou but biggest issue for both of those brands was the transmissions.
I really think JCB is the king of telehandlers but I'm far more sceptical of their plant machines!

    • @joeseels

We don’t have enough arable land to grow all our own, so we buy it in…. At the side it’s wheat we use less of that in the ration so it goes down sower at that side😀😀

I use to drive a merlo 42-7 and a jcb 542-70 the jcb is a far better machine the jcb will out push and lift the merlo the only thing better on the merlo is the pick up hitch it lifts a bit more but our merlo has been a nightmare loads of electrical problems and oil leaks we had a bearing go in the gearbox the drive broke to the hydraulic pump no end of hub seals at least 5 plus brake problems and the load monitor is dreadful to sensitive when your trying to push stuff up it locks out all the time luckily this is a lease hire machine otherwise it would have cost a fortune in repair bills at one point it was breaking down every other week the jcb is only 4 months old but is a better machine our previous merlo we owned that one was nearly as bad electrical problems from day one a corroded plug on a new machine oil leaks loads of hub seals they don’t like a lot of mud our previous jcb 531-70 was virtually bomb proof they were all on an out door pig unit in deep mud and slub all winter I was the tractor driver for them and the were greased regularly and serviced after driving both for the last five years I know which one I would buy the jcb has been far more reliable
