    Cranking on that winch would be one hell of a workout.💪😁 That PTO winch worked pretty slick!!!

      Yeah that takes some muscle! But I suppose on the farm it would have helped out and if you’re stuck it would be better than walking. Haha! Those pto winches are awesome! So many cool accessories can be had for these old Jeeps. That’s half the fun!

    Thx for demonstrated the manual winch and pto winch...nice to watch you keep an old jeep still working until today...its historic machine,which work better until today...no complex electronic system...

    Great video.
    It's refreshing to see a group of all stock Jeeps. And I love seeing some people properly use their old military Jeeps. No need to break stuff to prove you've been out wheeling.

      Anything over 55° and I have the doors and top down on most days. ☈ It's all about layers. But the older you get, the more challenging it becomes. I'll never understand how anyone buys a Jeep with 4 doors and a hardtop, Jeeps are about the open air experience, not cocooning its passengers.

    • @decentgarage
      @decentgarage 3 года назад

      @@redeyecafegarage7484 I really like the PTO winch. In high school someone told me Lt Dan has a PTO but I honestly have no idea if that's true.

    • @redeyecafegarage7484
      @redeyecafegarage7484  3 года назад

      @@decentgarage there are transmission ptos and transfer case ptos. The latter being more common on Jeeps. Your Jeep should have a dana 20 transfer case so it would require a pto that mounts on the bottom in place of the oil pan. They weren’t very common but they are out there. A quick look underneath with tell you if you have one. Also, it will have some extra levers sticking up through the floor. I really wanted to go with a pto but my diesel swap makes it a little too crowded so I went electric. Not as cool but it works well.

    • @decentgarage
      @decentgarage 3 года назад +1

      @@redeyecafegarage7484 Sweet I'll look closer but from what you describe I don't think it has one. I'll probably go electric as well. I'm going to start tearing it down this weekend 😃

    Awesome video!
    When the wrench was done with its job and was being pulled back, why were the jeep owners not letting it go and let it get back on its wheel on its own? Why were they holding it tight? So that it doesn't get tangled up?

    • @redeyecafegarage7484
      @redeyecafegarage7484  3 года назад +3

      Yes you’re exactly right. If you don’t keep tension on the line when re spooling it, the line will get tangled up or be so loose you won’t be able to get it all back on the drum. Thanks for watching.
