First of all, thank you for all the information about the MPP Hybrid Solar Inverter. Secondly, thank you for reminding me all I had learned, but didn't realize I forgot. I was an electronics technician in the Air Force many years ago. At the time I never thought I would have forgotten anything. I guess it's true, at least for me, what you don't use, you lose. Take care.
I own the 12 volts 800 watt one and it waste a lot of energy by turning on the fan. The MPPT charge controller quit on me the other day and they refuse to exchange it for another. The unit said my batteries were charged but they were not. I have 2 Renogy MPPT charge controller that I am very happy with. I am glad that this is the only system that is not modular. Once these unit break down you are up the creek with no paddle. I used this at night so it sometimes switch to AC and stay on the AC and will not disconnect even when the sun comes up.
I don't know what to tell you. I have zero problems. I can say that number one make sure it actually made by MPP SOLAR as many companies have cloned their units. MPP Solar warns of this themselves. Next is if it is a real MPP Solar may I ask what your using such a low watt inverter for? What type of batteries are you using? send me pics and info to jamesray080808@gmail.com I too also own a Renogy MPPT charge controller. Renogy dont actually make that it is a rebranded unit. I also own 16 mono Renogy solar panels.
It is made by them since they have been emailing me on the subject. There is one question that I asked them that have not been answered. Does this mop solar unit charge the battery when the power switch is tuned off. I turn off the inverter by turning off the power switch. Will that damage the charge controller?
Dear James, whatch out the Fronius symo gen 24 plus, 10 kw, it's from austrian company Fronius, you can find in RUclips when i build my house these ore next year, i will install that off grid with wind wheel. So i will be independent. Enjoy it.
Hi James im going over my calculations for the house im building and it seems ridiculously high ( I gotta go over them again) can I ask what your KWH/dy in your house?
Excellent information across the board James. Jackzilla and I have briefly discussed solar systems. I like all of the "little" extra tidbits you passed along about what all can be added as well as making sure that servicing is priority. People don't usually think about that. Just like water heaters,a/c units, heaters and etc. Out of curiosity, what are your thoughts on wind generators?
I like wind generators. I will be adding them here as well. Lets say for instance here its monsoon season and its been windy for few months. day and night I could have been producing excellent power. I bought one in Texas back 2 years ago. Prior to that a made a couple of homemade ones hat I still have. The one I bought to test out awhile is a dual pma ( permanent magnet alternator ) dual meaning it has a set at each end. It produces wild ac as they call it and then you connect that to rectifier that converts it to DC. that you can charge batteries. I found it to be maybe overrated. It was supposed to be 3k generator - impossible unless non stop 50 mph wind with no gust. I think they rated it by spinning it with a electric motor fast n steady. No by true output in the wind. None the less it produces. For a homeowner to get into a truly good wind generator it will be very costly. dollar for dollar I put my money on solar more. I will add wind pma just for extra bit during nights and cloudy days. I got mine from Missouri Wind google them up. Hot dip galvanized , carbon blades, aluminum hosing. fair price
@@TexasFilipino I appreciate the advice and I will check out their site. We also had found quite a few people stating that they too were a little disappointed with them. I'm sure that we will eventually go with solar on the home. If I do a generator, I'll hook it up to the tool/man cave that I will be building in a few months. I need my space, oops, I mean I need a place for my tools.😁
yep I was disappointed too. I'm not endorsing Missouri wind at all. I felt the rating they sold them as was inflated or they came up with figure thru some hard to duplicate circumstances. I'm wanting something that has huge blades but turns slower. damn thing gets to screaming at my house. If one of those blades slung - OH MAN
I can not find this unit here in the US to save my life. Any ideas where else I could look here in the US? Would love to try one. So tired of my outback 80Amp. And inverter. I would like to try a more compact look. Thanks for the tutorial. Do you have a combined library of video just for your solar. Would love to see how it is working out. Thanks 👍
john yes I have a playlist on my solar videos. This company is in Taiwan and I SUPER suggest you buy directly from them. sales@mppsolar.com The reason why? Well most importantly CHINA HATES them as we all know why and they have made clones and put MPP SOLAR name on them but with low quality. Some look spot on identical and some you can see subtle differences if you been around their products. Many resellers will claim to be selling Mpp Solar but it is knock offs! Mpp Solar for me has been a good company. They have done everything they ever told me they would do. I came at them with one problem before thinking I am gonna get screwed and the guy told me " hey calm down and breath man all will be ok. What you thinking of us? " and he showed me that they are of their word. I have units in Philippines and the USA both and all has gone well. I hear many complaints of this and that on my channel from others and I can quickly see that they do not know the proper way to set it up. It can be complicated and we need to do a little research according to how you plan to use it. Get a sheet of paper and write down all of your panel specs , your max voltage and wattage input from panels as they are currently configured. Make sure this will meet the perimeters of the mpp solar unit you purchase. You may have to change your series and or parallel config to meet the specs of MPP SOLAR. Next your battery type and high and lows on voltage. If lithium batts you need to disable EQUALIZATION as this can damage your lithium batteries. ( DO THIS BEFORE YOU CONNECT YOUR SOLAR PANELS) Remember even if MPP SOLAR will not let you MAX charge or maybe discharge your lithium batteries that it is saving the life of them for more years of use. ( give and take ). You will have to setup lithium batteries in custom mode. I have now been running my tesla batteries since March with NO PROBLEMS AT ALL EVER! If you are in the United States I would suggest the LV5048 unit. It is split phase for North America. 5000w but in split it is 2500/2500 . You can run 220 - 240 v USA on it or even 208v and 3 phase too!!! This can even be set for 200-240v single phase. A lot of options. Some will say fans are loud - well my units in Philippines are but this LV5048 is quiet. Next if you cant run 48v battery setup look at the lil brother tho it the LV2424. these can all be paralleled for more power. Disclaimer: I am just a user of their products myself and I have at this time NO affiliation with MPP SOLAR. Anything you do will be at your own risk and my advice is just suggestions. You accept all responsibility for your system and leave us harmless. I hate doing that but this crazy world!! Take care and hope I have been some help - James
Any update on the Tesla battery? I don't believe your MPP will charge it as the charge setting are not adjustable and default settings are for a SLA battery at 24v, and not at all suitable for the 22v Tesla battery.
Ok I am currently making videos on it right now. I have to say I AGREE with your assessment on that. Now it will charge it and work it for sure. It does have custom mode. And there is a pretty sizeable range of power to use in there and the nice thing is by not using the max power down range you get many more cycles of life out of the battery which is exactly what Tesla does and that is why the batteries will last for years in those cars instead of just 3 or 4. I have the system up and running on them. So far so good. I wanted to get more time in and evaluate it more before I put a video out. Hang in there it is coming - I appreciate your input and commenting
Good Morning, Do you have the links to where you brought all your solar set up. I am in the Philippines and I am looking at setting up solar in my house. Thank you for your assistance.
mppsolar.com or sales@mppsolar.com Please dont do like so many there in Philippines trying to do a batteryless system. I can't even express how moronic that is if its a off grid unit. It will constantly be shutting off. Do maybe a 48v system Look at 5048 model not the LV5048 though that one is for north america. How much power you want to make will also define that size. If you want just some small backup consider the 4024 like I have.
wow a tesla power wall..sir is tesla allowing international order for there tesla power wall or just only for america..hoping philippines goverment allow starlink to operate there in the philippines😊😊😊
Hi, first thanks for the video, it gave me a better idea of what i need, i have a few questions that i hope you could add on your next video, first and most important is how does the parallel option works?, obviously i need the 2 inverters BUT and i am guessing here, the solar panels are connected to first inverter, then you need 2 sets of batteries for each inverter?, or only one set of batteries that are connected to first inverter?, then again i am guessing here, first inverter has an output of 4kw so once connected in parallel the output will be 8kw?, is this total output coming out the second inverter?. Thanks again.
How are you planing to get your Tesla battery to the Philippines? Can they be air shipped? This is the same thing I'm planing to do I was wondering if it would be better to just buy batteries there or try to send a few Tesla batteries.
balikbayan boxes One in each box with lot of other things packed around it ! Down the charge some for safety. Maybe not til next year will I do it. I want to continue looking at other options. Some new batteries options are showing up now. I will keep some videos coming out on that this trip. Where you at there buddy?

I'm not sure it was just dust. I think there are a few short circuits also.
