ForShitsAndGiggles - A small non folding wallet with a few slots for cards/ID and sometimes a money clip on one side. Rather than a big tri fold or the long checkbook wallets. I personally don't care for the minimalist ones. May be nice though if you were wearing dress pants or light shorts where a slimmer and lightweight wallet would be beneficial. Certainly not bad to keep one as an option.
I wear Polo's and just bought my first minimalist wallet. I wear Polo's to work. I bought the wallet because I couldn't get my thick leather wallet out of my damn pocket plus I lost a ton of weight and my wallet looked like a growth on my right ass cheek. While I pass on the Polo's outside of work the minimalist wallet is growing on me.
I'm popping my beard cherry. I worked in fast food for ten years, so I couldn't have any facial hair. I've been in an office setting for the last several years, so I'm trying a beard out. I'm three weeks in, and I'm liking it so far. I have all of my basic tools to get started thanks to this channel. Thanks for these informative videos, I really appreciate it. I have the confidence now, and won't be as stressed out on this new journey. Cheers!
Jeff, just wanted to say thanks - this video saved my beard. Had it trimmed evenly for about 1 1/2 yrs and was growing out the 'stache, but getting bored with it all. After seeing this posting 2 months ago, I trimmed it 'athletically' and let my handlebars grow out. I'm loving my beard this summer and getting compliments. I started to use a #2 guard on the sideburns, cheeks and underneath, a #4 along the jaw and a #8 guard on the chin. Love it. Great beard, Jeff, and thanks again.
Jeff, I've watched a few dozen Beardbrand videos. You hit the beard shape - style - and facial elements out of the park. This put it all together for me. Thank you. 👍
The Goatee been optimizing our production process and I think we can handle it now. if it goes well, we'll continue it indefinitely - contingent on analytics from RUclips.
Would you consider doing an on-camera tutorial on how to actually shape this beard? Like what tools did you use, and how did you blend between the different lengths? I love the shape of this beard and the breakdown of the lengths in this video, but could really benefit from seeing it step by step. Thanks for considering this!
I wish we could get a trimming tutorial on this style. I am trying it now but wonder about trimming only with grain or against for cheek and neck and how to transition.
Thank you for doing this!! Love the shape. I’m at 3 months right now and It’s really agonizing lmao. But I’m pushing thru because the goal is basically your shape.
Didn’t know how long this could take to grow! Really makes me feel a lot better about my growth at 8 weeks, in 19 but my family’s beard genetics are actually very good, it’s just that my cheeks and chin aren’t fully connected yet, so I’m letting some of the cheek hairs cover those patches, it’s just that it has been taking a while and I’m prob still 6 weeks away from them finally being covered. Thanks for the video man!
Great tips Jeff. Finally decided to give this "athletic" style a try. Your tips definitely helped me shape the shorter beard. My wife thanks you! She likes the shorter style. I miss the bigger beard, but we all have to try different things now and again. Peace.
Good morning jeff. Can you tell me the color of beard you have on in the video? I want to buy one in the market and is it available with brands like Revlon
My beard was beginning to look similar to this although it was still quite short. I was getting complements on it left and right. Then, I did a HORRIBLE and ASININE move. I trimmed it. I've trimmed it two more times since then. It just doesn't look the same. So now, I'm going to let it grow back out, and trim ONLY underneath my chin with a razor. I'm also going to let a barber do the trimming from now on as well.
love the vid and finally having a name for the kind of beard I've been maintaining. my genetics don't really allow for the giant beard I'd prefer (too sparse and wavy) but I've been digging where it's been at. thanks for another great vid.
Can this be sort of done as you're going along? So not completly wating it out before trimming in this style but doing the length differences whilst you're growing it?
Hey jeff, Im going for this beard! I know its more about the relations of length but would you mind sharing what lengths your working with on cheek, chin and sides? Would be awesome to see a trimming video of this beard too :)
Beardbrand Thanks for your encouragement, will do! It's taken me 56yrs to do it & I whilst I look a bit like an old collie dog, I'm loving the look, feel and vibe of having a beard. Also, loving the grooming that goes with owning a beard, not in a long time have I looked so much in a mirror, fantastic hehe. Keep up your great videos, much appreciated...
good for you...i'm 47 and am 15 weeks into my first beard ever and am pretty pleased how its coming in and my wife loves it...the only thing i do is clean up the fly away hairs...with the exception of one night after a few to many cocktails I grabbed the trimmers....let's just say the mustache is not even anymore...keep growing
I hate being dyslexic. UGH! 😃 I totally saw this as "How to get an Authentic Beard Style." 🙄 Life challenged. 😏 Now can I ask this question? Why would you never ever trim your mustache above your top lip?
Nexus2Eden In my opinion, you can decide to let it grow or trim it based on the width of your upper lip. And by width i mean the distance between the bottom of your nose to the start of the upper lip. If you have considerable width (like Jeff) then letting your moustache grow would look totally awesome. On the other hand, if the width is not adequate (like me), the hairs tend to splay out a little bit giving an appearance of a popped out umbrella of sorts, by the time you reach 3 months. Check out the ScubaTube channel. He has a massive beard but trimmed stache, it looks like he has a comparatively smaller upper lip. Two of the other reasons why would trim it is to give it a denser look, and not to get in the way while your eating. But hey this is just me. Do get opinions from other great beardsmen in our community before you make your decision. Cheers !
Jeff- What do you think of growing out that style in lockstep with the proportions you've mentioned? i have about a 2 month even beard. Any reason to not go ahead and trim the sides down? Does this style look wonky if one were to grow it proportionally?
You should do a timelaspe of your beard growth to show what you are describing towards the end! Edit: I saw that you made a timelaspe 2 years ago. But it would be cool to see it from the sides to describe the growth you are mentioning.
hi jeff this is just an amazing beard and a dream beard for me but have a question did u get any trimming in between those 6 months of growth period or u got it trimmed only after the desired length of ur beard specially ur chin area which is the longest pls reply
Impressive video Jeff. My beard is very similar to yours. The cheeks man, wow Im having the exact same struggle filling the upper part, but my beard in that area is so thin that I think that I need at least 3 months more to get that strong "upper" cheekline. Cheers bearded fellas!
Great video. As always, Jeff hits it out of the park and creates by far the best beard grooming videos. They are practical and provide the thinking behind the grooming tips.
I agree. I always get giddy when Jeff sends over a video. There is so much thought and explanation put into it. I'm confused as hell why there is a large amount of thumbs down for this video; relatively speaking. - Eric
Hi Jeff. Some really good advice, here. Especially about stopping and letting it rest and going back and tweaking the cut. Could be a disaster if you keep cutting and go too short. Good advice too about the mustache. Keeping it well over the top lip is way better as you explain it. Finally, you have great skill in achieving the look by yourself.....years of practice, eh?
I think this beard is great and as good as your other styles. It's a point of reference for the future. I was hoping for a vid like this - in depth talking of the style. Also knowing you keep on top of it yourself bolds well as I trust no one. Was a fun one to watch as well! Enjoy the week pal.
I love ur videos I never thought there where beard grooming vedio. I m a Sikh ( 5th largest religion) man v never cut beard . V got awesome beard of different type ur grooming videos r very helpful BUT the thing is v never use trim or scissors . Can u make more vedios with this in mind . U will be famous and helpful to many. THANX
My beard kinda bends to the left. It's probably because of the curl in that direction. Would you recommended that i should trim it more on the left end to make it look even? I really dont want to screw my face bonsai 😅
Jeff just out of curiosity when you did the beard brushing video, how long did it take you to get the long beard to go down in the front? Just wondering
It all depends on face shape, and what you are comfortable with. Here are a few videos that'll help: ruclips.net/video/2rH1__OAsuA/видео.html ruclips.net/video/WPzxirZreaA/видео.html Let us know if you need any other help! -Josh
I'm trying to get my mustache to that level. I have the ability too. How did you trim it to shape and how (if you have one) hide the natural split under your nose?
I'm gonna give it a couple of months because the areas are so small. I started 5 months ago and have been trimming the whole thing every week. No more of that, its very full now but would of been beastly if I never touched it. I estimate I cut about 3 mm of it every weekend in past. Thanks again and I hope the beard brothers can forgive me.
You'll want to start "training" the hair to sit down on the side of your face that's all curly. You can do this by brushing the hair daily with a strong brush, like a boar bristle one. You can find an example of that here: www.beardbrand.com/products/boars-hair-brush - Jack
Apply beard oil to protect the hair. Then use a hair dryer on high heat / high flow and a thin toothed comb to 'straighten' the hair downwards. Finish with cold air to 'set' the hair. Then apply more beard oil and comb through. Do this daily and eventually you will train your beard hair to grow straight and downwards.
i wouldnt say athletic beard i would say functional and well planned out beard but i kinda like the comparison to bodybuilding, just had me thinking you meant beards most athletic people have if they choose to be bearded initially
I've tried Suavecito and what he says is true, dries my skin out. Also tried that Amish oil, smells good, but was only a bit better at hydrating, so I ended up coming back to Beardbrand. Nothing I've found thus far keeps your skin/beard moisturized and shiny all day like Beardbrand oil does. Btw nice vid Jeff, I have a lot of the same beard characteristics so I'm planning on trimming down to the 'athletic beard' soon.
I have a nice full beard, but go figure, I wasn't blessed with sideburns. I have about a 1 to 1 1/2" gap on both sides. I thought about grabbing the cat and borrowing some of his hair and gluing it on my face, but he's a really mean bastard, so I'm still debating if it's worth it?
My beard aint far off yours :), just wish I had the hair to go with it:( I Shaved it grade zero this summer and now growing it back for winter. Losing my hair really sucks but what can ya do:( & Beard looks mint!
Love this video mate! I always hated that my cheeks look chubbier when I grow my beard, and I've always razored the stray hairs... NO MORE!! Leaving cheeks untouched and this problem will hopefully be solved!!
I got thin beard with some bald areas like between adams apple and chin and one on the spot where mustache connects the chin....is it okay to grow a yeard...i prefer to have a long beard..... i oil it wash and groom it everyday... the hair on my face i thin and 3-5cm....
I doubt there is a 'fix'. If your mustache grows as fast as your chin there are those of us out there who are jealous of that alone. Perspective brother, beard on.
I just started growing my facial hair out about 2-3 mo ago, first time ever letting it go for more than a week. I grow stubble pretty quickly (or at least average), but now at about 2-1/2 months My growth seems to be very slow. Its kind of at a weird in between where it cant really be considered a short beard- I still dont have absolute full coverage nor is my neck filling in. Is this already terminal legth? Its barely a full finger pad long (enough to pinch with some to spare).
Don't worry, it's not terminal length. Just keep growing it out, and give it some time. A healthy diet and exercise will help too. Give it some more time and you'll get there. Remember to keep it moisturized too.
Thanks for the advice! I maintain a pretty healthy lifestyle and have been using beard oil every other day to avoid the coarseness it sometimes gets. Sounds like I will just have to continue growing :D
Never mind the pic on my icon, I have videos with different beards my channel when I made videos was about Occult topics and Hip Hop but I been a beard wearer since 1994. I have had it all from stubble, to faded like the icon pic to long perfectly shaped up beards to mountain man beards. I have even worn ever style Goatee etc everything but just a Stash and never ever will or have I done the Hipster waxed tipped up stashed in my options that style belongs where it left off on the mid 1800's. This cat has a nice beard only thing I'd change on him is blend the stash in with the beard.
Depends on how you want your beard to look. If you're going for a big full natural beard, 3 months is a good milestone to stop shaving in lines. - Jack
I enjoy this Jeff fellow. He strikes me as the sort of individual who likes wearing polos and is into minimalist wallets.

yeah seriously! A tutorial would be great.
Yup, I'm on board with that too.
I'm a simple man, I hear crossfit and I throw my computer out the window.
My ex girlfriend used to be into cross fit that was before I threw her out the window
Same here! The moment i heard crossfit i stopped watching
😂🤣
Jeff, I've watched a few dozen Beardbrand videos. You hit the beard shape - style - and facial elements out of the park. This put it all together for me. Thank you. 👍
Jeff the king is back! Awesome!
CLEAN advice!
In my opinion... this is the best Jeff's beard has ever looked. It's all about experimenting and finding what works best for you.
Exactly!
I gotta trim down my biceps.. Said no person ever.. :)
Right? My shoulders get WAY too big but my upper arms never grow hahaha.
actually arnoald did. he trimmed down for the movies. he was yuge before the terminator. but other than that. yea i hear ya

Guys we've got a treat for y'all this month. New video going to be posted everyday.

That beard is hands down, Bad. Ass. Definitely beard goals.
It's a strong, and classic beard. Can't ever go wrong with it.
Great video. Thank you.
Hey, Jeff, are you able to do a tutorial for this style?

This is a nice, short yet full and mature beard. I would consider it as the perfect beard.
Jeff. Your style is impeccable.
Still one of my all time favorite Beardbrand videos. Such great quality information here. One of my favorite beard styles.
Great tips Jeff. Finally decided to give this "athletic" style a try. Your tips definitely helped me shape the shorter beard. My wife thanks you! She likes the shorter style. I miss the bigger beard, but we all have to try different things now and again. Peace.
I m from India and you are my role model for beard look sir luv u ❤❤😊😊😊
You wear a beautiful beard Jeff, a very nice style. I found it a very useful video and can learn from it. Thanks for sharing with us.
Best beard on the net for sure
Great video Jeff...thanks for laying out the time commitment, helps to maintain short term expectations
Good morning jeff. Can you tell me the color of beard you have on in the video? I want to buy one in the market and is it available with brands like Revlon
I like how you talk about the different lengths for the different parts and the ratios. Great tutorial.

jeff the beard man.. . much love and respect from turkey.
Thanks for this vid buddy. I'm 3months into my first beard and tempted to trim but this has encouraged my to push on. Cheers...
Keep on growing buddy! You got this!

Beardbrand Thanks for your encouragement, will do! It's taken me 56yrs to do it & I whilst I look a bit like an old collie dog, I'm loving the look, feel and vibe of having a beard. Two of the other reasons why would trim it is to give it a denser look, and not to get in the way while your eating.
But hey this is just me. Do get opinions from other great beardsmen in our community before you make your decision.
Cheers !
This was the best How To I've ever seen. You really explained hot to get a beard like that. Thank you so much!
used some of these suggestions this morning. liking it alot. thanks for sharing then with us
I love hearing this stuff. Glad it's working for you!
Great man... very descriptive...ratio proportional thing was really nice
But it would be cool to see it from the sides to describe the growth you are mentioning.
the bearded legend is still alive!
subconscious I've been heading to this style without even knowing it existed. Thanks for actually getting some solid ratios to follow.
Happy to help!
hi jeff this is just an amazing beard and a dream beard for me but have a question did u get any trimming in between those 6 months of growth period or u got it trimmed only after the desired length of ur beard specially ur chin area which is the longest pls reply

Ya, I've got about 4 hairs that grow above the cheek line. You win some you lose some. - Eric
wow, Eric ! Salute barded bro.
setam1 same here brother
Great channel... good advice and total eye candy.
- Eric
thumbs down for it being less "big beard enthusiast" i suppose.
Oddly enough this was a great talk and demo... And ya look great.. And again I really liked the walk thru... And explanation
Thanks again, Jeff (and Beardbrand). Great advice. ♥
Best man beard style!!!
Thanks. Interesting approach. In the weeks you mentioned, did you trim, and to what length?
Jeff for president,
I think this beard is great and as good as your other styles. It's a point of reference for the future. I was hoping for a vid like this - in depth talking of the style. Also knowing you keep on top of it yourself bolds well as I trust no one.
Was a fun one to watch as well! Enjoy the week pal.
Jeff - another great video - keep up the awesome work!
The King! The Hero!
Thank you Jeff, and thanks a lot Beardbrand! Great video as always.
I heard about your left bending beard, all the town's people are talking about it.
Do you dye your beard? I am gonna try this look, but I have alot of gray.wondering if I should dye it.
Some people would do anything for a gray beard. It makes it yours
Jeff just out of curiosity when you did the beard brushing video, how long did it take you to get the long beard to go down in the front? Just wondering
I'm committed to this, i think it looks awesome! Thank you for sharing sir.
Did you do any maintenance during the growth?
Great tips Jeff. I am working on rocking the "aesthetic" beard as well. Thanks for all the great advise.
I love the way this beard looks. But I don't understand or have a clue of what in the hell he's talking about
"My biceps are huge! I have to trim those down" said no man ever.
Does exist a tutorial about Jeff's (inspired) beard?
Not only do you have a Nicholas II/ George V style beard, you look weirdly like them
hi. what about tall skinny guys? whats the best type of beard?

I'm trying to get my mustache to that level. I have the ability too. How did you trim it to shape and how (if you have one) hide the natural split under your nose?
Im in my 12th week , my chin beard is growing slow , my neck is growing pretty fast . It is so awkward , any fix for this ?
Looking good man! Thanks for the cheek part knowledge. I made the mistake of trimming that but I'm gonna shave and start from scratch.
Glad you were still able to learn something new. You may not have to start from scratch depending on how the trim turned out.
-Josh
I'm gonna give it a couple of months because the areas are so small. I started 5 months ago and have been trimming the whole thing every week. No more of that, its very full now but would of been beastly if I never touched it. I estimate I cut about 3 mm of it every weekend in past.
Thanks again and I hope the beard brothers can forgive me.
Gives me hope!
What a great vid, using bodybuilding as an analogy
Great video
the beard on one side of my face is curly, while the other is wavy/straight. it is annoying. I don't know how to fix that.
You'll want to start "training" the hair to sit down on the side of your face that's all curly. You can do this by brushing the hair daily with a strong brush, like a boar bristle one. You can find an example of that here: www.beardbrand.com/products/boars-hair-brush
- Jack
You have to tell it to stop whining.
Might be caused by resting one side on the pillow while you sleep. Might try alternating which way you lay.
i wouldnt say athletic beard i would say functional and well planned out beard but i kinda like the comparison to bodybuilding, just had me thinking you meant beards most athletic people have if they choose to be bearded initially
This is by far the must helpful video I have watched. And I have watched a lot of beard videos. Thanks!
We're always happy to help! Thanks for the feedback!
What are people's thoughts on Suavecito Beard Serum? It was sold to me as the cheapest oil on the shelf. Should I be using something better?
In our opinion, they probably don't use a higher quality oil and may include sulfates that can actually dry out your beard.
Beardbrand they use some stuff I can't pronounce and organic argan oil
I've tried Suavecito and what he says is true, dries my skin out. Also tried that Amish oil, smells good, but was only a bit better at hydrating, so I ended up coming back to Beardbrand. Nothing I've found thus far keeps your skin/beard moisturized and shiny all day like Beardbrand oil does. Btw nice vid Jeff, I have a lot of the same beard characteristics so I'm planning on trimming down to the 'athletic beard' soon.
Hey this really helped me thanks
I came back to this Jeff after seeing your latest video because your beard grows mental fast. Do you drink a lot of coffee?
Wow this beard rocks bro. It's so stylish, definitely my next one...
Randy Warren lmao, I think it is :) make it look like u did it on purpose. I've seen people with that style. :)
My beard aint far off yours :), just wish I had the hair to go with it:( I Shaved it grade zero this summer and now growing it back for winter. Losing my hair really sucks but what can ya do:( & Beard looks mint!
my beard is almost the same now (might be alittle shorter at the chin but...)
my problem: fucking curly hair.
any tips to get them straight?
A blow dryer is a great tool to tame curly hair.
Love this video mate! I always hated that my cheeks look chubbier when I grow my beard, and I've always razored the stray hairs... NO MORE!! Leaving cheeks untouched and this problem will hopefully be solved!!
Glad you liked the video, and know exactly what you need to do now!

Awesome beard! Unfortunately I don't have any hair grow on my cheeks so no beard for me......hopefully this is going to change when I'm older (I'm 22)
AllBlacks NZ I was not able to grow anything till 30, now 36 it much thicker. Give it time you will get there.
You're old enough to jumpstart your beard growth (assuming you will grow anything after 30, but this will let you know real quick) with minoxidil.
Do minoxidil like the guy above me said. Personally on week 8 and seeing crazy things.
so I guess I'll be aiming to build an athlete's beard and body for the start of next year :)
That's the spirit! Working out will help you grow your beard, and the beard will help you work out more. It's a win-win scenario.
I got thin beard with some bald areas like between adams apple and chin and one on the spot where mustache connects the chin....is it okay to grow a yeard...i prefer to have a long beard..... i oil it wash and groom it everyday... the hair on my face i thin and 3-5cm....
Great channel awesome your channel rocks
My hair growth speed:
Moustache - 3
Chin - 3
Cheek - 0.5
How to fix this, Jeff? Please advise. 😥😥😥😥
I doubt there is a 'fix'. If your mustache grows as fast as your chin there are those of us out there who are jealous of that alone. Perspective brother, beard on.
Wow...you, sir, really researched this! Thanks!
cool jacket at the end of the video Jeff. do u have a link or something for it? :-) your vids are great.
I could do this style perfectly.
Great video Jeff, beard on.
Imagine what we would all look like if shaving had never been a thing. We all just grew our beards out from the time of puberty 😂
It'd be interesting that's for sure!

Many people of the Sikh faith already do this. They have some of the most badass beards.
Us asians would be stuck with the 5 hairs on our cheeks.
Still, there would be lots of people with little to no beard, no everybody is blessed.
When should you start putting lines in?
Depends on how you want your beard to look. If you're going for a big full natural beard, 3 months is a good milestone to stop shaving in lines.
