My favorite part of Fujin and Sheeva is they very much feel like "don't you jump at me" characters. Been having a lot of fun with variation 1 for both of these characters. :)
From my experience Fujin is like sonya where you can get good meterless combos but they require u to do insanely fast dash ins while the opponent is barely in the air
After the wind wakka Crushing blow you can dash up and hit them with back+1, 1 and if you're using kasual variations you can cancel into amplified air slam for the pop up or his wind kicks. I've dropped a few 500s with my kasual variation by doing that
He's flashy and awesome, dmg could be better, but it's not the worst. But I think that v1 is the best, v2 is flashy af, but the meterless combos seem really hard to do online, which is quite sad, one small lag and You get fully punished :/

If u dash forward and use absolute perfect timing, U can land his 4 2 which is the restand. Works best in the corner
Fujins BF2 is so difficult to use aside from meter burning it. with the animation, it feels like it’s supposed to combo kinda like Laos twister special move. his moves are extremely fun tho
5:00 theres also a 24% krushing blow if you miss the slide which is perfect to catch people on slow projectlie startups because you duck under the projectile and then get a solid kounter

super literally shows you a meterless launcher.. you just need to practice.. ngl i sat there dumbfounded missing it for a good hour or so. i practiced doing the tornado first after strings. then slowly inched forward. its exactly as he said. if you blow them away too early you cant combo. you have to delay moving forward just a tick.
The forward 4,3 KB is weird but you only have to whiff the first hit the second time. You can hit the string and then whiff the first hit on their knockdown. So they're forcing you to meaty for the KB

More tech, at the moment, your opponent’s size really matters for the amped Sky Wakka corner carry. As far as Ive found, larger characters (like Sheeva as shown) will be corner carried by 12, amped du, but smaller characters (even Sub-Zero, as I found out) fall out of 12, amped du on the second hit. Matchup knowledge with Fujin will have an impact on his execution, and therefore, Fujin’s viability versus certain characters.

I dont want to sound like that guy because fujin is badass asl minus the outro he jumps on his sword(looks corny asl ngl) but he feels like such a chore to utilize efficiently in a fight which isn't inherently bad. He is way to combo extensive with a severely low pay off. He doesn't do enough damage to compensate for the risk and his kb aside from his sliding punch dont do that great either. This is his first week so like you said see players use him more but from what I'm seeing he already needs a very minor adjustment to make him top 5 imo. P.s sky Walker might be the new jade air glaive counter and I'm loving it.

Just FYI Super, his forward 4, 3 KB does not have to be ONLY the second hit two times in a row. You can land the first string entirely and THEN hit only the 2nd part to get the KB. It’s worded weird, I know.
So what exactly is his forte? Like his stuff is stylish but what's the point if the combos are this hard without dmg and costing bars? I just dont really understand the character like how sheeva has a lot of grabs and unblockables or robocop has zoning and space control.
Whoa, your screen is so vibrant and colourful. Mine is washed out in comparison, and the contrast is darker on mine. I try not to touch the setting on my tv, almost every time I do, whenever I switch to a movie or a different game the colour looks all whack.
Exactly. Hes a flashy counter character with some zoning, not a big combo or damage character at all like you said the stress of the precise execution isn't worth the meter or the damage tbh. Even his 3rs V he lifts you up way too high freaking space enough to do anything because the time he lands it's like ok where's the timing arch that I hit him....they should have just made fujin like ermac slamming you off the ground but they tried getting too fancy.
Scotty Davlin There is timing because yes you dash but it’s not that easy compared to a proper juggle move, it’s a stupid arch angle that throws the guy way off screen off screen so you have to go to him where it should work the other way around they bounce near you. If you’ve played mk4, mk 9 or say older mk games you’ll know what I mean Better. As for damage his higher damage combos requires very high execution and two bars. Where others get 37-40 with one bar. V3 isn’t combo heavy like the other two.
@Scotty Davlin There's a few actually. Sonya without any KB's, she's one of my mains she has a 35 and 37% with one bar. Besides Baraka, She had more pre their first big patch where her air grab punch actually juggled you off the ground on amped, but they changed that many, many months ago dating back to last year so that if you finish the combo with that it keeps you grounded so it's a combo ender now. She had around 38-40 with that move using 2 bars which was worth it. Scorpion, LK, KL, Kabal etc, etc Fujin barely gets 30-33 on average with one bar depending on the variation, but can get 35-37% with two bars which while it's not horrible the payout isn't exactly worth it when the execution is insane with timing when you're dealing with online lag too mind you. Also, I'm not sure you're getting what I'm saying regarding the V3 timing thing, yes it does take timing and practice because you have to dash in and TIME it what I'm saying is you have to dash in and then juggle, if you're too fast or too late you'll whiff....this is what I'm saying. It's not something easy like his original move set with wind bounces in Mk 4 or MK A just watch K&P's video Ketchup&Mustard's channel on their recent Fujin video and you'll see what I mean. You're acting as if you just stand there and do it to get a combo not the case you have to move immediately and time your hit confirm from when they fall from the sky otherwise you'll miss it and thus just wasted an amped wind lift. It's just done poorly and not practical(the way the move is designed I mean) They could have made it simplier is all I'm saying like previous games. Fujin almost feels like a different character all together from a different fighting game, he feels more like a SF character literally similar to the wind dude in SF. His dive kick you can only do it out of a cancel from another prior move, just a few special move choices I think NRS got wrong with him in this game but it's whatever. He could use some patching, he has an infinite glitch, some his hit boxes are wacky(to be fair the hit boxes in this game are bad as it is it) TBH, majority happen to agree both casual, competive and pros alike whole feel he's high execution so not really that subjective when everyone I see on here making vids about him have gone on record to say he's very high execution, I'm a competitive online player and player in general, I have to say I agree. Especially when compared to his previous iterations.A lot of players can do combos easier than others doesn't mean he's not high execution. This doesn't just go for his combos also, but winning with him at higher levels too. Which is not easy to do as oppose to someone braindead like Scorpion or Jacqui etc.
@Scotty Davlin I'm a veteran MK player so while I've gotten combos with him in V3 they're also not worth it since that variation is the weakest, but if someone wants to use it for fun I suppose that's fine but it won't be doing much damage wise. Most are just saying that overall he's a higher execution character and that angle is not very practical for a juggle move sending the character off screen is just weird and not the best decision on character design so I'd disagree with you there. It's not so much a casual player vs hardcore thing, like I was saying earlier majority of both who've reviewed Fujin have said he's a higher execution character. That means harder to use overall and strategically than other characters easier to pick up and play in the game like say Scorpion or Jacqui. Or of the recent DLC, Sheeva easily being the easiest to pick up and play out of the 3. But yeah you're still timing the combo hit because you have to otherwise if you did nothing the guy would fall down. Like what I'm saying is if you compare Fujin's combo's with his cyclone no amp juggles or his V3 wind lift, the timing is clearly more difficult than say Scorpion's juggles after his amped teleport into juggles into spears as one example. Naturally some players will be better than others at certain things, but this is just a general fact regarding Fujin's execution vs someone like Scorpion and most of the roster. Some characters have easier timing, combos, moves etc as oppose to others. This is the case with every FG really not just MK and KI. MK X's were all run, 5050 combos they were easier to me at least because of the speed, this game is so slow it feels sluggish and not very responsive tbh compared to MK X and MK 9. MK 9 imo out of the 3 had the easiest combos both hitbox wise and timing out of the past 3 MK games. I'm sure that's debatable though among player preferences. A lot of people don't like the speed of MK 11 though I've noticed. I agree with you on him being harder to use with higher execution, takes more work to win with etc but I definitely also agree with majority of pros, competitive and casuals alike who feel generally speaking he's higher execution than most because of that reason the combos are part of it but his overall design is not scrub or braindead friendly like some others in this game. I think a lot of people are using Fujin because he's one of those unpredictable, weird and outside the box type of characters. He doesn't really play like an MK character does in this game, like the previous MKs he's been in he played like an MK character and was more consistent within his move sets just updated. This game they got fancy and flashier with him, which isn't bad but for those Fujin fans who were hoping he would be a bit more pick up friendly, are very disappointed. Now me, personally I like using him and don't mind competiting with him as I've had some luck with him in KL a little this week but I'd also be lying if I said some of his moves should work differently for more practical combo chances especially in this game with limited meter options, amping moves like most characters if you amp a move you're pretty much guaranteed a juggle unless you drop it. Fujin you have to literally dash in fast with his 43 combos into tornado for less damage than other characters do using only one bar which is imo a turn off for using Fujin regardless of skill level. So I can understand why some Fujin players are turned off about him. But it is what it is, for me I use his first variation for countering and punishing, playing mind games with some zoning with the bow. I would use his third more if his wind push actually did damage, only the amped does which to me is kind of stupid when they've given Ermac, Kenshi similar moves previously that hit you from a far but Fujin it's like they put limitations on it. Just my opinion on that. He is fun for sure, but for those who want to pick up and play sadly for them he won't be the logical choice like say Scorpion or Sheeva or Jade someone like that.
When I do 4, 2, Tornado / the opponent falls to the ground so fast that I cannot do any follow-up moves, unless I burn some of the meter on the Tornado. In your case, you seem to be able to continue the juggle combo from a non-amplified Tornado. I don't understand how.

I hope they change that Rain Kick-like Krushing Blow. Reduce damage to 15% or 20% and make it so we can actually get a combo. Having this many flat damage moves all over the game is just... Why? Why reward effortless gameplay? I dont get it.
my take on fujin is he is a skill based character who requires high execution sure he is fun but he has no launcher for juggle combos,missing overhead,mediocre damage i can understand his V2 has good combo damage with sky wakka but without kb his damage isnt that good and v1 requires 2 bar for slight above 30% i can compare him with Lee Chaolan from tekken 7.Fujin really needs a damage buff i wanted to main him but he didnt turn out as i expected

so im the only one here whos having a blast with fujin? i mean sure, his B1 /B11 is slow and unnecessarily unsafe buf in V3 (which is the only one is use since i hate down-up motions like v2 and v1 has no utility) you can make everything safe with no BS flawlessblock gaps.

Honestly as a fujin main in every game, he's more about flash than big combos in this game. Hes an in and out character if you ask me. He gets in the gets out, baits then counters. His 3rd variation isn't that great sadly, feelsnlike he has a move missing. Like NRS where is his cyclone toss? Oh yeah they wasted it on cetrion. I use his 1 and 2 but mostly his 1 since he has the bow which is a great zoning, keep away tool. Mix up the directly. I don't think he a big combo heavy character. Also his v3 air slam is so dumb because he tosses you in space before you land making juggle timing nearly impossible. Should have. Even like ermacs slam I mean ermac isn't even in the game don't know why. Also his f43 is great and safe his b2,1+3 is a great punish if people try to backdash. I think fujin is lower mid some where, I know he just came out but of the 3 hes clearly the toughest to use. His combos are not easy to connect. I'm not saying he can't combo but little damage imo isn't worth the level of execution. I hate how they made it alone has to activate a move to do other moves or down up to do a dive kick, charge wind and sword dash. They also should have give him a sword launch instead of the dumb soccer kick that whiffs half the time. Nice though
he has insane combos if you delay the tornado after 12 and then dash into a 42 you can get beefy combos with better damage with sheeva. just requiers skill and good timing.

Everyone has some combos the question is who's are worth it and who's aren't in this game. Hes a great punish character however. I also use raiden who's lower though his recent. Buffs help a little, his combos are worth it for 2 bars with the damage output. Fujin, not so much unfortunately but like you said I'd you want combos for these 3 dlcs. Sheevas the clear winner. Fujin is the flashy, punish character. RC the zoner with a few other tricks. Speaking of which Fujin can zone a little as well in his 3rd but not as easily as others and his first with the crossbow, one thing no fujins I've seen do that's great I'd you're close to closing out a match mixing up his straight with amped trick shots up or down throw people people off because it literally bounces at different angles they have to guess right while moving.

Just FYI Super, his forward 4, 3 KB does not have to be ONLY the second hit two times in a row. You can land the first string entirely and THEN hit only the 2nd part to get the KB. It’s worded weird, I know.

U can hit the f4-3 and then whiff the f4 the 2nd time, hit the 3 and the crushing blow still works. Ya don't need to whiff both f4's

You have to delay and push forward after doing bd2. Otherwise, you can't get the frame advantage to dash up.

Exactly. Hes a flashy counter character with some zoning, not a big combo or damage character at all like you said the stress of the precise execution isn't worth the meter or the damage tbh. Even his 3rs V he lifts you up way too high freaking space enough to do anything because the time he lands it's like ok where's the timing arch that I hit him....they should have just made fujin like ermac slamming you off the ground but they tried getting too fancy.

Scotty Davlin There is timing because yes you dash but it’s not that easy compared to a proper juggle move, it’s a stupid arch angle that throws the guy way off screen off screen so you have to go to him where it should work the other way around they bounce near you. If you’ve played mk4, mk 9 or say older mk games you’ll know what I mean Better. As for damage his higher damage combos requires very high execution and two bars. Where others get 37-40 with one bar. V3 isn’t combo heavy like the other two.
@Scotty Davlin There's a few actually. Sonya without any KB's, she's one of my mains she has a 35 and 37% with one bar. Besides Baraka, She had more pre their first big patch where her air grab punch actually juggled you off the ground on amped, but they changed that many, many months ago dating back to last year so that if you finish the combo with that it keeps you grounded so it's a combo ender now. She had around 38-40 with that move using 2 bars which was worth it. Scorpion, LK, KL, Kabal etc, etc
Fujin barely gets 30-33 on average with one bar depending on the variation, but can get 35-37% with two bars which while it's not horrible the payout isn't exactly worth it when the execution is insane with timing when you're dealing with online lag too mind you.
Also, I'm not sure you're getting what I'm saying regarding the V3 timing thing, yes it does take timing and practice because you have to dash in and TIME it what I'm saying is you have to dash in and then juggle, if you're too fast or too late you'll whiff....this is what I'm saying. It's not something easy like his original move set with wind bounces in Mk 4 or MK A just watch K&P's video Ketchup&Mustard's channel on their recent Fujin video and you'll see what I mean.
You're acting as if you just stand there and do it to get a combo not the case you have to move immediately and time your hit confirm from when they fall from the sky otherwise you'll miss it and thus just wasted an amped wind lift. It's just done poorly and not practical(the way the move is designed I mean) They could have made it simplier is all I'm saying like previous games. Fujin almost feels like a different character all together from a different fighting game, he feels more like a SF character literally similar to the wind dude in SF. His dive kick you can only do it out of a cancel from another prior move, just a few special move choices I think NRS got wrong with him in this game but it's whatever. He could use some patching, he has an infinite glitch, some his hit boxes are wacky(to be fair the hit boxes in this game are bad as it is it)
TBH, majority happen to agree both casual, competive and pros alike whole feel he's high execution so not really that subjective when everyone I see on here making vids about him have gone on record to say he's very high execution, I'm a competitive online player and player in general, I have to say I agree. Especially when compared to his previous iterations.A lot of players can do combos easier than others doesn't mean he's not high execution. This doesn't just go for his combos also, but winning with him at higher levels too. Which is not easy to do as oppose to someone braindead like Scorpion or Jacqui etc.
@Scotty Davlin I'm a veteran MK player so while I've gotten combos with him in V3 they're also not worth it since that variation is the weakest, but if someone wants to use it for fun I suppose that's fine but it won't be doing much damage wise.
Most are just saying that overall he's a higher execution character and that angle is not very practical for a juggle move sending the character off screen is just weird and not the best decision on character design so I'd disagree with you there. It's not so much a casual player vs hardcore thing, like I was saying earlier majority of both who've reviewed Fujin have said he's a higher execution character. That means harder to use overall and strategically than other characters easier to pick up and play in the game like say Scorpion or Jacqui. Or of the recent DLC, Sheeva easily being the easiest to pick up and play out of the 3.
But yeah you're still timing the combo hit because you have to otherwise if you did nothing the guy would fall down. Like what I'm saying is if you compare Fujin's combo's with his cyclone no amp juggles or his V3 wind lift, the timing is clearly more difficult than say Scorpion's juggles after his amped teleport into juggles into spears as one example. Naturally some players will be better than others at certain things, but this is just a general fact regarding Fujin's execution vs someone like Scorpion and most of the roster. Some characters have easier timing, combos, moves etc as oppose to others. This is the case with every FG really not just MK and KI.
MK X's were all run, 5050 combos they were easier to me at least because of the speed, this game is so slow it feels sluggish and not very responsive tbh compared to MK X and MK 9. MK 9 imo out of the 3 had the easiest combos both hitbox wise and timing out of the past 3 MK games. I'm sure that's debatable though among player preferences. A lot of people don't like the speed of MK 11 though I've noticed.
I agree with you on him being harder to use with higher execution, takes more work to win with etc but I definitely also agree with majority of pros, competitive and casuals alike who feel generally speaking he's higher execution than most because of that reason the combos are part of it but his overall design is not scrub or braindead friendly like some others in this game.
I think a lot of people are using Fujin because he's one of those unpredictable, weird and outside the box type of characters. He doesn't really play like an MK character does in this game, like the previous MKs he's been in he played like an MK character and was more consistent within his move sets just updated. This game they got fancy and flashier with him, which isn't bad but for those Fujin fans who were hoping he would be a bit more pick up friendly, are very disappointed. Now me, personally I like using him and don't mind competiting with him as I've had some luck with him in KL a little this week but I'd also be lying if I said some of his moves should work differently for more practical combo chances especially in this game with limited meter options, amping moves like most characters if you amp a move you're pretty much guaranteed a juggle unless you drop it. Fujin you have to literally dash in fast with his 43 combos into tornado for less damage than other characters do using only one bar which is imo a turn off for using Fujin regardless of skill level. So I can understand why some Fujin players are turned off about him.
But it is what it is, for me I use his first variation for countering and punishing, playing mind games with some zoning with the bow. I would use his third more if his wind push actually did damage, only the amped does which to me is kind of stupid when they've given Ermac, Kenshi similar moves previously that hit you from a far but Fujin it's like they put limitations on it. Just my opinion on that. He is fun for sure, but for those who want to pick up and play sadly for them he won't be the logical choice like say Scorpion or Sheeva or Jade someone like that.

When I do 4, 2, Tornado / the opponent falls to the ground so fast that I cannot do any follow-up moves, unless I burn some of the meter on the Tornado. In your case, you seem to be able to continue the juggle combo from a non-amplified Tornado. I don't understand how.

Naw bro. Variations like upgraded and loud and klear are challenging but fun. This is way too much work for that damage. And you know with online converting is going to be a nightmare. All that silly delay tornado shit just won’t work. I’m especially pissed because shim bits said on the Kombat kast Fujin looked difficult but was viable. Wrong

my take on fujin is he is a skill based character who requires high execution
sure he is fun but he has no launcher for juggle combos,missing overhead,mediocre damage
i can understand his V2 has good combo damage with sky wakka but without kb his damage isnt that good and v1 requires 2 bar for slight above 30%

so im the only one here whos having a blast with fujin? i mean sure, his B1 /B11 is slow and unnecessarily unsafe buf in V3 (which is the only one is use since i hate down-up motions like v2 and v1 has no utility) you can make everything safe with no BS flawlessblock gaps.
The f43 overhead string Crushing blow doesn’t have to be whiffed twice you can connect both hits the first time but the second one you have to Whif the first hit.
So am I the only one who thinks these sky walk combo works on big characters only Bc I never get the second hit on sky walk unless I use 4,2. He said 1,2 always gets it but I’m testing on scorp and he just goes right past him after one hit.

Honestly as a fujin main in every game, he's more about flash than big combos in this game. Hes an in and out character if you ask me. He gets in the gets out, baits then counters. His 3rd variation isn't that great sadly, feelsnlike he has a move missing. Like NRS where is his cyclone toss? Oh yeah they wasted it on cetrion.
I use his 1 and 2 but mostly his 1 since he has the bow which is a great zoning, keep away tool. Mix up the directly.
I don't think he a big combo heavy character. Also his v3 air slam is so dumb because he tosses you in space before you land making juggle timing nearly impossible. Should have. Even like ermacs slam I mean ermac isn't even in the game don't know why. Also his f43 is great and safe his b2,1+3 is a great punish if people try to backdash.
I think fujin is lower mid some where, I know he just came out but of the 3 hes clearly the toughest to use. His combos are not easy to connect. I'm not saying he can't combo but little damage imo isn't worth the level of execution. I hate how they made it alone has to activate a move to do other moves or down up to do a dive kick, charge wind and sword dash. They also should have give him a sword launch instead of the dumb soccer kick that whiffs half the time.

he has insane combos if you delay the tornado after 12 and then dash into a 42 you can get beefy combos with better damage with sheeva. just requiers skill and good timing.

Everyone has some combos the question is who's are worth it and who's aren't in this game.
Hes a great punish character however. I also use raiden who's lower though his recent. Buffs help a little, his combos are worth it for 2 bars with the damage output. Fujin, not so much unfortunately but like you said I'd you want combos for these 3 dlcs. Sheevas the clear winner. Fujin is the flashy, punish character. RC the zoner with a few other tricks. Speaking of which Fujin can zone a little as well in his 3rd but not as easily as others and his first with the crossbow, one thing no fujins I've seen do that's great I'd you're close to closing out a match mixing up his straight with amped trick shots up or down throw people people off because it literally bounces at different angles they have to guess right while moving.
