    Welcome to the Huge 125 Gallon South American Cichlid Aquarium!
    This, in my opinion is my best aquarium yet! In part 2 of the 125 gallon build series we take a look at the creation of this tank. From the sand substrate, to the wood, and to the rocks used in the aquascape. We then transfer the fish and show you an in-depth look at the awesome final product!
    The tank is still not 100% complete but it's close. Stay tuned for an update video in the next few months which will showcase its 100% completion along with some new fish additions!
    Thank you for watching & supporting the channel. Make sure you are subscribed for all future fish room content!

You're right about Bubba he looked like he was swimming around with a smile on his face. Looking forward to the next videos leading to the completion of your fish room. Stay safe and take care mate.

    How do you use just sponge filters for filtration

    • @cichlidscape
      @cichlidscape  Год назад

      On this tank now i have sponge filers, an internal filter & a canister. But you can run tanks off sponge filters by themselves. They are great for mechanical & biological filtration👍🏻

  • @donaldhall8785

    Really like the setup. I think that going from a buildup to free water gradation is an excellent idea. Hope you don't mind me stealing it. LOL. One question I do have is regarding your Fluval FX6, I have 0 experience with Canister filtration systems and in reading the reviews about the FX6 noticed that many people have had problems with leaks, the motor just flat out quitting after a short time and the main complaint of terrible customer service from the company. Any thoughts on this?

    • @cichlidscape
      @cichlidscape  2 года назад +1

      Thanks man👍🏻 ive had the fx6 for years now with no issues. It’s something with the aquastop valve that I need to fix. 1st issue I’ve had but a lot of folks never have any problems you know. The filter itself is great! Maybe is just a little pricey you know

    aquarium hobby for 50 years: this setup bad choices/ lousy advice 1. Filter most important tank equipment (not decor). Video: planned filter: Fluval fx6 - towel wrapped - valve problem. Solve the filter problem before you do anything else and get some cycled filter material to speed up cycling of new tank 2. decor to help stay down: can pre-soak driftwood in a container/cooler for 1 month-keep cooler/container closed with cynder blocks/bricks/weights 3. using sand substrate - only showed 1 fish that needs sand (1 Heckeli fish) - sand is 3 times more expensive than gravel - I would only spend the extra $ on sand, if I was picking as my center-piece fish, fish that needs sand like eartheaters/heckeli. But not the case here.

    • @cichlidscape
      @cichlidscape  10 месяцев назад +2

      😂 comical. The towel is just in case the valve is would happen to leak. Same as the container it’s in. As for the rest, I can’t be arsed reading it all. Thanks for watching though👍🏻

    • @cichlidscape
      @cichlidscape  8 месяцев назад +1

      @@WatsonsAquatics well done. Really proud of you! A lot of folks do soak driftwood for that amount of time. Does help it sink, lower tannins etc. However, thanks for your input!
