Hi everyone, I hope you have a great weekend. First, this is just a concept, and as a enthusiast I wish BoulderDash would remain a cci for a long time, but I think it's interesting to see how Boulder Dash would feel with a hybrid conversion. I hope I don't offend the purists. Some people asked me if they could use my content in their videos, feel free to use it. I appreciate the credit in the description of the video. @@ImmelmanFooters PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SEND THIS TO LC I WANT THIS NOWWWW!!! ITS INCREDIBLE BEST CONCEPT IVE EVER SEEN PROBABLY. I agree that some would say to leave it as a CCI, but I think it should either get the RMC treatment or GCI titan track. I hope it’s RMC’d because it would be amazing, but with them already working with GCI on wildcat, I think titan track is the most likely concept.
@@willamsnyder5696 This video is imagining that Rocky Mountain Construction has converted Boulder Dash to a steel coaster. When they do that, they usually add inversions.
I came to RUclips today to see if anyone else thought it would be cool if Boulder Dash got the RMC treatment and I was not disappointed. Would LOVE to ride this.
Amazing job as always! I especially love that top gun stall that hugs the ground and how you were able to fit 11 airtime moments between that last zero g roll and the final brake run. This thing is bonkers haha.
the wave turn out of the woods along the pathway would be an absolutely iconic shot akin to Kumba's corkscrews...and the trick track quadruple up? lightning rod, who? lol however....we all know the RMC treatment really needs to be done on the abomination sitting right in the middle of the park.
As a drummer, I always have to remember that simple is better and I think sometimes that applies to coasters too! In my mind, this blows any coaster out of the water, and IDK why lol! Great video btw, I can only imagine how long this creation took you!!!!
Can you just imagine how incredible this ride would be if it actually existed? It would be the best RMC hands down, and probably the best coaster period! That STALL that goes right along the ground of that hill, just wow. That would be nuts. And that freaking finale! I have been making finales like that in Planet Coaster for a bit now, I absolutely love all of the aggressive and tiny bunny hills that just throw you around like crazy, do satisfying and fun! This is such an amazing ride hahaha. It sticks so well to the actual layout of the current ride too, looks like it could be the official video released if they announced they were RMCing Boulder Dash! I would be sooooo down for that.
What an outstanding layout. It’s so tough to create RMC concepts for coasters like this which are so beloved, but I feel this would be universally loved more than the current Boulder dash, and even most current RMCs. Truly outstanding work here.
RMC's can become a little boring if you look at them too much but it is allllllllllways interesting to see what colour people choose for the track. This one is really nice.
Say bruh, that beat is fiya🔥 on the off ride footage. Whoever produced that was in the zone! As to the ride, I can’t remember one that you’ve put out that I thought was bad. You do some good work. Good shit👊🏿
This is my dream RMC, and i feel like its such an obvious one to get the treatment because of how huge of a hit it would be. Wonder if lake compounce would ever do it
It has gotten steel tracks installed. I'm not sure if it's the entire ride, and or, if it was RMC that did it. I saw it on Instagram the other day. So excited! This is a great video.
It's definitely an interesting concept and if it were actually built I think it would be one of the most scenic RMCs ever built. No doubt it would also be and awesome night ride too. It probably won't happen but it's an interesting concept
Not a purist, and not offended - it’s a very cool “remix” for this ride. But I have to say, Boulder Dash (as-is) remains one of my top coasters ever! Not only is it super-fun, but it’s also super-re-ridable (which as I get older becomes more important, as rides with inversions make me a little dizzy). 🤪
Great now what am I supposed to do with this massive hard-on? Top notch work as always, and one of the few cases where boulder dash was actually done justice.
Haha thanks to you for the suggestion of BD, you were the only one with this. And also thanks for the idea of the stall very close to the ground that you wrote in a comment in the past 😁😋👍
This would automatically be a no1 in the world! The pacing, that zero-g stall near the ground and that finale were mind blowing! Never been on boulder dash but it can’t be as good as this, surely!!!
Dude it's awesome. But it's getting old and the ride is tough after almost 20 years. It's an insanly fast coaster and I couldn't even imagine how good this coaster can be.
That final stretch with those back-to-back airtime hills holy crap- and was that a quadruple up at the very end?! At that point, I think the thighs of the passengers would be so sore due to the ridiculous amounts of airtime😭😭
The original was a trick track like Shivering Timbers. In 2007 they replaced it with a triple up, and finally a double up in 2016. I wanted to do a remix on that part with the past of Boulder Dash.
THIS NEEDS TO HAPPEN. I love boulder dash and it's definitely got the wooden coaster rough to it. It's not such a bad thing really but these retract coasters are butter smooth and if boulder dash was moving as fast as it goes it would be incredible. I'm so impressed with what you can seem to be able to do with these hybrid coasters.
That finale is hilarious. Only critique is more of a proposed argument: The valley out of the drop is ultra soft, and a bit simple for RMC Flavoring. I don't dislike it, as it quickly resolves into that overbank then gets the pacing going solid with the balance of sustained elements that maintain speed, etc. I think that first drop could have used a mini speed hump with some very mild outer bank trickery. The reason I propose this as such is cuz I honestly don't know how else I'd approach it. Keeping low to the ground is key and you've seemed to matchup with boulder's layout there. I wouldn't put a tall element in its place, as I like the overall tone of carried, unbattered speed. Dunno. I guess I'm just curious how you felt about that moment and what your argument was if you are very adamant about the progression there. PS Scene critique: I can very much appreciate the threading the needle through the trees effect you managed to pull off, but I think there are better options in Vanilla or TCM's Tree edit to blow up larger. The elm tree is already oversized IMO and it starts to look toony rather than simulated. Your rock work looked awesome. At least on ride and from some of the b-roll, it didn't appear as giant blown up stones but actual stone featured terrain. Nice touch there. /aside: if you want my custom terrain/water loadouts for better ground painting--along with your stone work--I've got not problem tossing them your way if it means you get a better end result :) (check some of my povs if you want, or you can just peek at these: imgur.com/a/M0P8WGh I spent a *lot* of time getting these textures/layers to look and react realistically with light and blend with each other. Dunno how much terrain painting you do, its a bit of an art, but I got my loadouts reduced to painting with two layers and wiping them away to recreate realistic forest floor, prepped grounds, etc.
Hi, thanks for the comment kadske! I tried some versions for the drop; outerbanked, without banked, with a zero g roll and with a couple bunny hills on the straight track after the lifthill, adding a barrel roll downdrop,etc.. None convinces me to be honest. I like the straight track after the lift (like the original BoulderDash but higher) because there are several seconds that create hype and tension (the general public tends to suffer more in the lift or before a launch than when the train goes at 80 mph (psychology I guess)) and I didn't want to focus this coaster on inversions so I decided to add this kind of drop. It's not perfect, but I think it's the best solution I found. At the bottom I preferred to oxygenate the transition and the gs and give more presence to the speed and more distance to the first hill without banked. I think a bunny hill at that point kills the flow. In my head I had the first part of the layout focused on speed and the second on airtime and increasing the intensity until the end.
In the criticism of the scene I have nothing to add, I worked hard for the rockwork looking at various points of view, but not so much at the trees. I guess since it was the last thing I did on this project, I wanted to finish it fast and record the video and didn't pay as much attention to detail.
