it's part of the holy trinity of Yatsunori Mitsuda - Corridors of Time from Chrono Trigger, Shevat the wind is calling from Xenogears and Time's Scar from Chrono Cross. Toss in Forgotten Days Village of Hidden Rune from Suikoden 1 (Miki Higashino) Acquatic Ambiance, Stickerbrush Symphone from DKC 1/2 (David Wise), City of Tears from Hollow Knight (Christopher Larkin), Reach for the Summit from Celeste (Lena Raine), Koji Kondo's Zelda theme and Mario theme, Michiko Naruke's Wild Arm's Into the Wilderness, and Nobuo Uematsu's entire body of work and you have the best VGM ever made
Xenogears needs a remake treatment. It would be an opportunity to complete the work that Takahashi couldnt, because of time limit problems with the development. It's a wonderful story, the lore is really something and the characters are great.
This is my favorite game of all time! This is when the whole feel of the game changed! You see this place many times during the game but never go there until this part. Fei finally comes home!
So Wilbert Roget II is the composer for AAA video games and a highly skilled flutist. Wow. His Wikipedia-article says he was inspired by Uematsu and Hitoshi Sakimoto. Much respect. This video is beautiful and very well executed, and captures the mysterious vibe of visiting a floating island :)
That he is! Will was the one who convinced me to play this game in the first place, so getting to put this arrangement together with him made it that much more special :)
This and Faraway Promise are my favs. The fact that small time youtubers in the last 5 - 6 years have been covering Xenogears OST since FFVII remake has been gaining a ton of traction before and after release is proof that this game needs some form of love from both Monolith soft and Square. Nintendo, please, make something happen between you and Square.
So good... This song always meant so much to me even as a kid... Shevat was truly a special place. I remember just leaving this song playing for quite some time because it was just so relaxing and peaceful.
Damn. hum, yeah... Damn. Amazing production quality and interpretation. I couldn't believe it's separate track recording, really strong play and mix. Also going over some of your other videos made me realize you had an OCR account, and that you actually made some remix for an album i used to listen to 15 years ago. Glad the youtube algorithm gave me an opportunity to listen to it again i guess lol. I really enjoyed Summer's Dream back then.
This is amazing! Love the arrangement and the sound of all the percussion instruments - especially the steel drums - and that flute performance too omg
I've loved this song ever since I first heard it when playing XG, and I absolutely love this version. Thanks for the video : ) Great work, you folks! As a (mostly amateur) musician who recently got into trying to compose tracks for VGM, this is a great inspiration.
This is absolutely amazing! This is such a great arrangement, it's very true to the original, but it's also really unique and it takes you on a journey that the regular in-game loop could never. I loved the vibes and the steel pans (I REALLY love the rim hits at 2:46), but honestly that piano solo was just so good!! Also, props for the choir; I didn't even notice it at first, but it added so much to ambience. Keep up the great work, this is amazing!!
This is so beautiful, and I think it has shown me the type of music I'd dream of making for games. I love that you included everything you used in the description as well. I was thinking "that bass fits so well in here. What is that?" and it's right there in the desc.
The algorithm is not doing its job. This is amazing.
It doesnt need to have one million views for you to know that it is a masterpiece
@@batman-c6q3k Don't worry, I just found this video, it will have a million views soon. Got this bitch on loop. lol
@@batman-c6q3k However a million views would be a good start on the remuneration and recognition these artists deserve :]
@@batman-c6q3kNot the point. It shouldn't take years for this to reach people who love Xenogears.
Agreed this is incredible
I love the renaissance Xenogears is experiencing! Best version of this track I’ve heard to far!!!
Seeing this many years later, but want you to know how much I love it
Masterpiece.
Shevat is my most favourite piece for 20 years.
Thank you!

Makes me think of Xenogears but through a Chrono Cross filter. Awesome.
Took 4 years for this to show up in my feed...
Masterfully done!

I'm kinda scared that they'd be forced to change the story due to... present day's over-sensitive issue : religion.
So sad I didn’t see this sooner, Shevat always felt like a paradise, and this cover just brings that feeling to life.
This is my favorite game of all time! This is when the whole feel of the game changed! You see this place many times during the game but never go there until this part. Fei finally comes home!
This is fantastic . . . one of my favorite Mitsuda compositions.
Killer rendition of such an amazing song. Thank you for this arrangement.
Smooth. i feel the music with headset on. melancoly. Wonderfully made. Thank you
Plaisir pour les yeux et les oreilles. Merci.
periodically since 2010, I search on youtube for anyone who cover any xenogears music, i often found decent performance, and you are one of them,
Shevat is one of the best music ever composed. Yasunori Mitsuda is a God of the music, and you did a wonderful performance
Just randomly typed in Shevat today for some odd reason...came across this...day made.
Hahahah I'm glad to hear!
2:40 did you really record that part with one Glock playing on the eighths and another one a sixteenth note offset???
yes :)
Doug Perry you absolute legend
